Halo Studios marked the end of one era and the beginning of another last week with the announcement of *Halo: Campaign Evolved*. This Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Halo game is set to launch next year on Xbox, PC, and—for the first time ever—the PlayStation 5.

Confirming the PS5 release of *Halo: Campaign Evolved*, Halo Studios also announced that future Halo titles will be available on the PlayStation platform as well. Halo Community Director Brian Jarrard appeared on stage at the Halo World Championships last week to share the news. “Halo is on PlayStation going forward, starting with *Halo: Campaign Evolved*,” he said while wearing a t-shirt featuring the PlayStation logo.

The announcement that Halo is coming to PlayStation sent waves through the gaming community. The official PlayStation post welcoming the franchise garnered over 12 million impressions on X (formerly Twitter). In response, GameStop boldly declared the “Console Wars” officially over.

What this means for fans is that the next new entry in the Halo series will be available on PlayStation, whether on the PS5 or the future PS6. While we are likely still several years away from a follow-up to *Halo Infinite*, it’s clear that the franchise will continue to support both Xbox and PlayStation platforms moving forward.
