Celebrity Traitors fans all sat down to watch the debut episode of the BBC One show tonight, taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their excitement.
For months, fans of The Traitors have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Celebrity Traitors, and tonight they were finally treated to the first episode. The show features a star-studded cast of 19 celebrities who head to Scotland to take part in the game.
Just like the original series, the BBC show is hosted by Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman. While the rules remain the same, viewers can expect a number of new twists that add to the intrigue. However, there is one major difference this time around—the familiarity of the players. Since many contestants come from the showbiz world and know each other outside the game, it may be easier for them to detect who is lying.
The prize money is different too. The celebrities are competing to win £100,000 for a charity of their choice. In the regular series, the Faithful and Traitors battle it out for a cash prize of up to £120,000.
Stars such as Kate Garraway, Jonathan Ross, and Alan Carr are among those heading to Scotland for what promises to be a dramatic game.
Fans were quick to express their enthusiasm during the first episode. One fan on X wrote, “Oh I adore this cast already, can we just have 9 days of watching them do challenges.” Another added, “I’m actually obsessed with this cast already, 10/10 from the BBC!” A third commented, “This casting—an actual all-celeb cast for once in a show!!”
Another overjoyed viewer shared, “This is such a stellar cast, TV will never be this good again,” while someone else exclaimed, “I cannot and will not get over this cast. It is the most premium celebrity cast a celebrity format has ever seen!”
For those eager to watch more, the show will continue with two episodes per week. Episode two airs tomorrow at 9 pm, but after that, viewers will need to wait until next Wednesday for the third installment.
There will be nine episodes in total, with the finale scheduled for Wednesday, 5 November at 9 pm on BBC One.
If two episodes a week aren’t enough, fans can also tune in to BBC Two after the show airs to join Ed Gamble for a celebrity edition of *The Traitors Uncloaked*. This companion show will be available at 10:15 pm on BBC Two or on BBC iPlayer.
