Nashik Police Book 21 Gang Members for Celebratory Procession Following Bail Release

Nashik police have booked 21 gang members for organizing a procession to celebrate the release of one of their members on bail from Nashik Road Central Jail. The individual, Mahesh Sonawane, was arrested on murder charges and was granted bail on September 20.

A video that has gone viral on social media shows police parading a group of young men through the streets of Nashik. In the footage, police officers can be seen beating a boy while a crowd looks on. The incident has sparked widespread concern.

According to reports, following Mahesh Sonawane’s release, his gang members arranged a procession that created a hostile and disruptive environment. The group obstructed traffic and threatened bystanders to clear the roads by displaying weapons. This unruly behavior prompted the Nashik police to take strict action.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation and in response to the viral video, the police booked the gang members involved under sections of the Indian Arms Act and other relevant laws. Subsequently, 17 of the accused were arrested on Monday.

The police continue to investigate and have emphasized their commitment to maintaining law and order in the city amid such incidents.
