**‘Ramayana’ Producer Namit Malhotra Opens Up About Movie’s Budget**

The upcoming film *Ramayana* has captured the imagination of audiences even before its release, and much curiosity revolves around its production, especially the budget. Namit Malhotra, the film’s producer, recently spoke candidly about this topic during an interview on the *Game Changers* podcast.
When asked about the final budget of *Ramayana*, Malhotra admitted, “People ask me what my final budget is going to be, I don’t know.” Despite numerous reports estimating the budget to be around ₹4,000 crore, Malhotra revealed that even he isn’t certain about the exact figures. He added, “I don’t check that every day. I just see if we’re making the right product. There should be no compromise anywhere.”
**A New Lease of Life for Malhotra’s Business**
Malhotra also shared how *Ramayana* has positively impacted his business. “Today, *Ramayana* has infused a new life into our business. Even in my experience of 30 years, I can’t pinpoint how it’s happening, but it is,” he said.
Despite facing significant challenges such as the pandemic and the Hollywood strike last year, his company DNEG successfully managed to pay its 11,000 employees every month. This resilience reflects the strength and vitality that the project has brought to the business.
**An Ambitious and Star-Studded Project**
*Ramayana* is shaping up to be a grand cinematic venture. Malhotra confidently stated, “We’ve won so many Oscars for the biggest of Hollywood films. But *Ramayana* is even bigger and tougher to crack all of them.”
The film boasts a stellar cast including Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha. Notably, Yash is not only starring in the movie but also backing the project.
The first part of *Ramayana* is slated for release in November 2026, and anticipation continues to build as the film promises to be a landmark in Indian cinema.
