Cowell, 66, was noticeably absent during the first two days of filming in Birmingham, England. In his place, English singer Stacey Solomon stepped in as a guest judge. Simon made his return on the third day, appearing with a visible bruise on his forehead.
On Thursday, Cowell addressed the injury plainly: “I fell down some steps… and I bumped my head. But I’m fine now.”
A source close to the show added, “Simon bumped his head when he stumbled on some steps. It’s the sort of thing that can happen to anyone. Thankfully, he’s absolutely fine now.”
