AEW’s “Black Brock Lesnar” revealed – “You can’t Suplex him”

An AEW star was recently compared to WWE’s Brock Lesnar, known as The Beast Incarnate—one of the most destructive stars the company has to offer. Lesnar recently showcased his dominance by eliminating every opponent on the opposing team during the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series: WarGames. WWE has done an excellent job building him as a powerhouse.

Similarly, AEW veteran MVP is working to build his client, Bobby Lashley, in much the same way. The Hurt Syndicate, consisting of Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, has been one of the top stables in the company. Thanks to smart booking, both Lashley and Benjamin have maintained their status as formidable powerhouses. Bobby Lashley, in particular, is often viewed as a main-event player by many wrestling fans and insiders.

Recently, MVP opened up about how he preserves Lashley’s image as a giant. Speaking on the podcast *Marking Out*, Montel revealed that he often rejects pitches from AEW stars who want to perform certain moves—like a powerbomb or a suplex—on Lashley.

“MVP explained, ‘Bobby’s way too nice for the damage that he can do. He’s one of the nicest guys around, and Bobby’s way too giving. Guys will want to do stuff to Bobby and Bobby would be like, “Eh,” and I’ll be, “No, no, you can’t do that to him.” Bobby just be like, “Talk to P.” Would you do that to Brock Lesnar? No. Well, that’s black Brock Lesnar. So no, you can’t Suplex him. No, you can’t Powerbomb him. Not you. Protect your size. Protect being a giant.’” [H/T WrestlePurist’s X]

The Hurt Syndicate has been dominant since arriving in the Jacksonville-based AEW promotion, rarely suffering losses. Even when they lost their AEW World Tag Team Championships, they didn’t have to take the pinfall, demonstrating their enduring credibility.

Adding to the praise, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette recently commented on Lashley’s status during an appearance on *The Experience*. Cornette said, “Bobby Lashley, one would agree. He’s a main-event guy. He’s a former WWE Champion, the people like the Hurt Syndicate. He’s got credibility. Used properly, one would think he could be in the main events.”

With such backing from notable industry figures and smart management behind the scenes, it will be interesting to watch when Bobby Lashley receives the big push to the top of AEW’s main event scene.
