Will Ohio State lose Jeremiah Smith to the transfer portal? The Buckeyes’ star reveal the answer

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s wide receiver room is facing significant changes this offseason, but the team’s most important player is stepping up to ease the minds of the fan base.

The Buckeyes are set to lose four wide receivers. Carnell Tate is headed to the NFL Draft, while Mylan Graham, Bryson Rodgers, and Quincy Porter have all entered the transfer portal in search of new opportunities.

These departures have understandably caused concern among fans. It’s easy to worry that players who initially committed to Ohio State because of Brian Hartline’s presence in Columbus might be reconsidering their futures now that he has moved to South Florida.

Jeremiah Smith, however, understands these concerns and felt it was necessary to address them directly. On social media, he assured fans, “Not going nowhere.” This statement offers a much-needed sense of relief.

While the Buckeyes might be losing players they viewed as part of their future, the most important wide receiver for the team’s immediate success remains committed—at least until he potentially moves on to the NFL in about a year.

With Smith staying put, Ohio State fans can breathe a little easier as the program navigates this period of transition.

Iowa State TE Brahmer gets in end zone a week after collapsing on field

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Benjamin Brahmer insists that things looked a lot worse than they actually were when the big Iowa State tight end passed out on the field after getting up from a big hit in the previous game.

A week later, Brahmer was back in the end zone, showing no signs of lingering effects from the incident. Brahmer caught a crucial pass around the end zone, helping secure the team’s momentum and demonstrating his resilience.

Jaylen Waddle puts Dolphins up 24-3 in Atlanta

The Dolphins suffered a tough loss on the road in Week 7, but their Week 8 road trip is shaping up much better.

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle took a short pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and broke loose for a 43-yard touchdown with 4:18 left in the third quarter. This was Tagovailoa’s third touchdown pass of the afternoon, giving the Dolphins a commanding 24-3 lead.

Early in the third quarter, the Falcons looked poised to score, driving deep into Miami’s territory. However, running back Bijan Robinson fumbled in the red zone, and linebacker Tyrel Dodson recovered the ball, marking the first turnover of the game.

Robinson has struggled on the ground, accumulating just 22 rushing yards. Meanwhile, the Falcons have totaled 85 yards as a team, playing with Kirk Cousins at quarterback in place of the injured Michael Penix.

Jets claim LB Kobe King off of waivers

The New York Jets have added a linebacker to their active roster ahead of Week 8’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The team announced that they have claimed Kobe King off waivers.

King was recently released by the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday when they activated running back Aaron Jones off injured reserve. Originally a sixth-round pick earlier this year, King appeared in five games, recording four tackles. Most of his playing time came on special teams.

In other roster updates, the Jets could see the return of linebacker Quincy Williams this weekend. Williams has missed the last four games due to a shoulder injury but was designated to return from injured reserve this week. He was listed as questionable to play on Friday.

However, the Jets will be without Cam Jones, who has been ruled out with a hip injury ahead of the game.
