WWE bringing back controversially released star for one big reason, says Vince Russo (Exclusive)

Former WWE star Karrion Kross parted ways with the promotion following the expiration of his contract in August 2025. The 40-year-old wrestler was among the earliest returns under Triple H’s creative control in 2022. Given his impressive run in NXT during his first tenure with the company, it was widely expected that Kross would play a significant role on the main roster. However, his second stint in WWE proved to be underwhelming, as he failed to secure any title runs.

Kross ultimately walked out of the company due to dissatisfaction with his booking. Since his departure, fans have speculated whether The Herald of Doomsday might return, especially as he has yet to sign with any major wrestling promotion.

**Vince Russo Weighs In on Kross’ WWE Future**

Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently shared his views on Karrion Kross’ potential WWE return. Speaking on the final episode of *Writing with Russo* on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Russo emphasized that Kross’ decision to re-sign with WWE could heavily depend on the status of his wife, Scarlett Bordeaux.

Russo stated, “Here’s something else that comes into play, bro. This comes into play big time. His wife. If they don’t want her, that could have a big bearing on whether or not he goes back to that company. I think that’s a big part of this equation. And I mean, obviously, they’ve shown us they did absolutely zero with her.”

**A Rocky Exit from WWE**

Karrion Kross did not have a clean exit from WWE. During the WrestleMania 41 weekend, he publicly expressed frustration over the lack of opportunities, which garnered sympathy and support from fans. Before his departure, he was involved in a program with Sami Zayn.

After Kross’ contract expired, WWE offered him a new deal but delayed offering one to Scarlett Bordeaux until after Kross signed. This decision reportedly left a sour taste in the couple’s mouths.

**Post-WWE Appearances**

Since leaving WWE in August, Kross and Scarlett have made occasional appearances in independent wrestling promotions. The duo notably appeared at GCW Homecoming, where they attacked former WWE superstar Matt Cardona. Additionally, Kross made an appearance at DEFY Wrestling in September but has not been seen on other shows since.

4-time WWE World Champion clears the air on retirement; addresses when he might leave wrestling

WWE is headed to San Diego for Survivor Series: WarGames, and one major name has cleared the air about retirement. The veteran in question is Sheamus.

Last month, Sheamus returned to television following an intense feud with Rusev, which concluded in France. The Celtic Warrior has endured multiple severe injuries in the past, and with some of his peers entering their final runs or announcing retirements in the coming months or years, fans have been curious about his future.

The three-time WWE Champion and one-time World Heavyweight Champion recently set the record straight about his in-ring retirement plans and when he might consider hanging up his wrestling boots in the Stamford-based promotion.

In an appearance on RAW Recap, the 47-year-old RAW star addressed various topics since his return to the red brand, including John Cena and The Judgment Day. During the discussion, the multi-time World, Tag Team, and United States Champion expressed that he’s not retiring anytime soon, insisting he’s just getting started.

“I think it’s the intensity that’s something that I’ve always leaned into, and that’s really what sets me apart. I feel like that’s why I’m still in the game. You know, people talk about John Cena retiring, and I think he’s like a year older than me, and I feel like I’m just getting started. Last week, I was in there with JD [McDonagh], man, and just ripping it up,” Sheamus said.

Moreover, he revealed that retirement might only be considered if he’s no longer able to give 100% in the ring, regardless of the match or show.

“The day I don’t go out there and give 100% or give it everything that I possibly have every single match—I don’t care if it’s RAW, SmackDown, NXT, or if it’s Main Event that they tape before the show—I won’t go out there and not give everything I have in every single match, and especially with my neck,” Sheamus explained.

### Sheamus Feuds with The Judgment Day on WWE RAW

After concluding his feud with Rusev on the red brand, Sheamus took a hiatus for a few weeks before recently making his return. Since coming back, The Celtic Warrior crossed paths with The Judgment Day and lost a one-on-one match against JD McDonagh.

The rivalry escalated this week when Sheamus came to the aid of AJ Styles and Dragon Lee during their title match. The veteran chased Dirty Dom away, allowing the champions to retain over Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.

Sheamus continues to demonstrate his passion and intensity inside the ring, making it clear that he’s far from considering retirement.
