Yogi Adityanath Announces Direct Salary Payment and Enhanced Benefits for Sanitation Workers in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that sanitation and contractual workers in the state will now receive their salaries directly through government corporations, effectively eliminating private outsourcing intermediaries. This move aims to ensure timely and transparent payment to these essential workers.
In addition to salary reforms, the Chief Minister declared that sanitation workers will receive health insurance coverage worth ₹5 lakh, along with accident compensation ranging from ₹35 to ₹40 lakh. These benefits will be facilitated through bank arrangements, providing greater security and support to the workers and their families.
Valmiki Heritage and Education
Speaking at the Maharshi Valmiki Manifestation Day ceremony held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of the Valmiki community’s safety and respect. He remarked, “Your safety is society’s safety; your respect is respect for Valmiki’s heritage.” The Chief Minister encouraged the community to focus on educating their children and empowering future leaders.
Legacy of Character and Righteousness
Highlighting the enduring legacy of Sage Valmiki, Yogi Adityanath noted that the Ramayana established timeless ideals of character and righteousness. He praised Lord Ram’s conduct as a model of propriety, famously stating, “Ram never violated the line of propriety—the Lakshman Rekha.”

The event was attended by prominent leaders including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, BJP State President Bhupendra Singh, and several ministers. The Chief Minister took the opportunity to criticize opposition parties for indulging in “vote bank politics” and neglecting the ideals upheld by Valmiki.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the double-engine government to work towards realizing “Ram Rajya” — a society free from discrimination and injustice.
