Bitcoin price continues to show weakness, which has trickled bearish sentiments into major altcoins like Ethereum, Solana, ADA, and DOGE. Analyst suggests that the next altcoin season is still looming due to Bitcoin and Ethereum underperformance. Bitcoin (BTC) resumed today’s trade in red, with the price falling back to around $91,000. Analysts noted that the Bitcoin weakness has failed to ignite the next altcoin season, where alternative cryptocurrencies like Ethereum (ETH) show bullish performance. Bitcoin Dominance Plunge, But Altcoins Still Bleeding According to MarketCap data, the Bitcoin price has declined by 15. 4% this month. This was accompanied by a drop in its dominance rate. As we discussed earlier, Bitcoin dominance measures the percentage of the BTC market capitalization relative to the entire crypto market’s cap. High dominance means BTC is dominating, while a drop suggests money is flowing to alternative cryptocurrencies. Usually, a dominance drop excites traders because it implies investors are selling BTC to buy altcoins, kickstarting the “alt season.” Altcoin Season is a market phase where top cryptocurrencies like ETH, Solana (SOL), and Dogecoin (DOGE) rally higher than BTC. It is often driven by speculation, FOMO, and rotating capital from BTC. However, analysts have pushed back that the recent drop in Bitcoin dominance is not a bullish rotation to altcoin. According to them, it is part of a reset, meaning a market-wide cooldown after over-leveraged trading. For emphasis, altcoins like Cardano (ADA), DOGE, and Solana have dropped more than BTC over the past 30 days. While BTC declined by 15. 4%, ADA plunged by 26. 9%, and Solana decreased by 27%. These declines showed that the altcoins are not yet attracting capital. Furthermore, most altcoins/BTC pairs are weak. For instance, the ETH/BTC only dipped slightly, meaning ETH is not surging ahead. However, the XRP/BTC is holding strong. Still, it hints at selective resilience in specific assets rather than a broad altcoin surge. Analyst Says We are Not Yet in an Alt Season Market analyst and Head of Markets at Hex Trust, Rohit Apte, frames the BTC drawdown as a continuation of deleveraging. Apte says an altcoin season has not yet arrived, as most altcoins have underperformed both Bitcoin and Ethereum on a relative basis. Apte explained that for an alt season to start, Bitcoin and ETH need to stabilize and consolidate. Meanwhile, traders are reducing exposure without aggressively rotating into altcoins, meaning they amplify market moves. This paints caution as the market trend, with no panic-selling, and no bold bets either. Furthermore, there are no signs of speculative fever within blockchain building on the Ethereum network. Base, the Coinbase layer-2 blockchain solution, stands out as the current hotspot. The layer-2 blockchain now processes about 19 million daily transactions. Other chains like Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon, and Celo are steady, processing millions of transactions without congestion. If things go as planned with the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung could save big bucks buying the AP
Samsung’s System LSI Division is pricing the Exynos 2600 application processor (AP) $20 to $30 a piece lower than the rival Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 AP. A report out of Korea says that the price cut is being done to drive demand for Samsung’s homegrown component on a cost performance basis. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is expected to be priced in a range between $240 and $280 per unit. With the price cut, the Exynos 2600 AP could cost between $210 and $250 for each chip. Samsung spent 25. 5% more on mobile APs for its phones during the first three quarters of the year Another report out of Korea notes that the cost of an AP usually makes up more than 30% of the total cost of a smartphone. Thus, Qualcomm’s price hikes for its Snapdragon APs are bound to raise the prices manufacturers layout for such smartphone components. This outscored the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, produced by TSMC using its 3nm process. That AP scored a single-core and multi-core score of 2, 865 and 9, 487 respectively. Not only did the Exynos 2600 crush its rival, its single-core result would be the fastest among smartphone SoCs in that category, a metric that Apple’s A-series APs have traditionally owned. The Exynos 2600’s single-core score also matched the result for Apple’s new M5 chip. Things are coming together for the Exynos 2600 as the early word is that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip is running hotter than it should. Should the Exynos 2600 AP perform strongly in real world situations with the Galaxy S26 series next year, Exynos APs might be found under the hood of some non-Samsung flagship phones. However, most consumers knowledgeable enough to understand the situation prefer that their brand-new Galaxy S26 series handsets be equipped with a Snapdragon chipset instead of the Exynos 2600. But that is based on past perceptions for Exynos APs. UCLA men crush Sacramento State, but they’re still searching for a spark
LOS ANGELES Either Mick Cronin was trying to prove he is just as fickle as the college basketball stratosphere thinks he is, or he was simply experimenting. After an unexpected nailbiter in UCLA’s season opener, he said he would bench anyone at any time if they blew a defensive assignment. After the Bruins’ loss to No. 4 Arizona on Friday night, he said he needed to develop his bench. Both scenarios could explain why, on Tuesday, Cronin rolled out four reserves and forward Eric Dailey Jr. to start UCLA’s game against Sacramento State. Regardless of the reason, the 19th-ranked Bruins cruised to a 79-48 victory. The lone unchanged starter, Dailey, led the team with 15 points. Xavier Booker Jr. scored 12 off the bench and Trent Perry added 11. The Bruins (4-1) had another unconvincing win against an unconvincing opponent. The new-look starting lineup jumped out to a 13-0 lead. Jamar Brown drew an and-one opportunity off a nifty Euro-step in transition. Perry drew an and-one on a late shot clock 3-pointer.
