Hurricanes standout Keionte Scott has ‘heart-wrenching’ injury

**Miami Hurricanes May Be Without Star Defensive Back Keionte Scott for Some Time**

Miami Gardens – Transfer defensive back Keionte Scott has been a revelation for Miami’s defense this season, but the Hurricanes may have to play without him for an extended period. The senior nickelback suffered a “serious” injury, UM coach Mario Cristobal revealed after the Hurricanes’ blowout win over N.C. State on Saturday.

Scott was seen wearing a walking boot on his right foot before the game, underscoring the severity of the injury. “You miss him,” Cristobal said. “It’s a serious injury and it’s one that’s heart-wrenching, gut-wrenching, really.”

Scott, who joined Miami in the summer after last playing at Auburn, quickly became a star in the Hurricanes’ strong defense. This season, he has recorded 29 tackles, three sacks, and an interception — a pick-six against Syracuse last week. Pro Football Focus has also given Scott high marks, awarding him a 90.3 defensive grade, the best in the ACC among defensive backs entering this week’s games.

“He means so much to this team, and as good of a player as he is, he wants to win,” Cristobal said. “That’s all he cares about. He’s up for so many awards. And he’s a big part of the heart and soul of our team.”

In Scott’s absence, freshman Bryce Fitzgerald started at nickelback. Fitzgerald contributed two tackles and one pass breakup.

“I think having him on the sideline as a coach, as a leader, his enthusiasm, his voice was very impactful and powerful, and the guys that stepped in did a really good job,” Cristobal added.

Other players in the secondary also stepped up, including safety Jakobe Thomas, who notched two interceptions in the win.

“That’s a true teammate,” Thomas said of Scott. “A guy that you can lean on, on and off the field. Keionte is one of my best friends and I’ll say it every day — he’s probably the greatest teammate I’ve ever had in my life. He takes care of all those young guys. Bryce had to step in at nickel this week, and Keionte made sure that he knew every call, helped with everything. He was the most juiced on the sideline on every play. So he’s a great guy.”

As Miami looks ahead, the team will rely on the leadership and growth of players like Fitzgerald and Thomas to continue its defensive dominance while hoping for a strong recovery from Scott.

‘Uncontrollable rage’: Trump calls for ‘no talent’ Seth Meyers to be fired after criticism

Donald Trump on Saturday declared war on yet another late-night TV host. Over the weekend, the former president took to Truth Social, his own social media platform, to lash out at Seth Meyers.

“NBC’s Seth Meyers is suffering from an incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS),” Trump wrote.

“He was viewed last night in an uncontrollable rage, likely due to the fact that his ‘show’ is a Ratings DISASTER.”

Trump didn’t stop there. He added, “Aside from everything else, Meyers has no talent, and NBC should fire him, IMMEDIATELY!”

Nuggets Make Final Nikola Jokic Decision vs Timberwolves

Coming off his big game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic was downgraded on the injury report for Saturday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to the official NBA injury report, Jokic is dealing with a left wrist sprain. The Nuggets initially listed him as questionable when they revealed his status on Friday night.

### Nuggets Reveal Nikola Jokic’s Playing Status vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Although the Nuggets left the door open for a potential night off for Jokic, the veteran center has been officially cleared for action.

When the Nuggets hit the road for a trip that began in Sacramento on November 11, Jokic started the stretch strong with a 35-point, 15-rebound double-double. The Nuggets secured a 122-108 victory over the Kings.

In the following game against the LA Clippers, Jokic logged 33 minutes and once again contributed to a double-double. He scored a season-high 55 points on an impressive 78 percent shooting and pulled down 12 rebounds. The Nuggets won 130-116, extending their winning streak to six games.

The Nuggets are currently on the hunt to become the third team to notch 10 wins in the NBA this season. Their biggest threat at the moment, the Oklahoma City Thunder, holds a 12-1 record, placing them atop the Western Conference.

On the other side of the league, the Detroit Pistons improved to 11-2 after extending their winning streak to nine games with a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

### Jokic Continues MVP-Level Performance

For the Nuggets, Jokic is once again looking like a potential frontrunner for the league’s MVP award. He has won the honor three out of the last five seasons and finished second in the two years he didn’t.

Last year, Jokic averaged 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.8 assists per game. This season, he is putting up 28.8 points per game while shooting 68 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range. Additionally, he is pulling down a career-high 13.1 rebounds per game and producing a career-best 10.9 assists per game.

Jokic will get a chance to continue building on another MVP-caliber campaign on Saturday night against Minnesota.

Elizabeth Franz Dies: Tony-Winning & Emmy-Nominated ‘Death Of A Salesman’ Actress Was 84

Elizabeth Franz, the Tony-winning and Emmy-nominated actress known for her role in *Death of a Salesman*, has died at the age of 84. She passed away on November 4 at her home in Woodbury, Connecticut, due to cancer and a severe reaction to her treatment medication, her husband Christopher Pelham told *The New York Times*.

A veteran performer, Franz was prolific and versatile on stage, appearing in numerous plays both on and off Broadway. Among her notable roles were the titular nun in Christopher Durang’s *Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You*, for which she won an Obie Award in 1982; Matthew Broderick’s on-stage mother in Neil Simon’s *Brighton Beach Memoirs*, which earned her a Tony nomination in 1983; and the youngest of four sisters in Paul Osborn’s *Morning’s at Seven*, for which she received another Tony nomination in 2002.

However, her most memorable role was her subversive portrayal of Linda Loman in the 1999 Broadway production of *Death of a Salesman*, opposite Brian Dennehy as Willy Loman. Franz chose to interpret Linda with a more assertive edge than previous actresses. This powerful choice caught the attention of playwright Arthur Miller himself, who told *The New York Times* that she “has discovered in the role the basic underlying powerful protectiveness, which comes out as fury, and that in the past, in every performance I know of, was simply washed out.” Her performance earned her the 1999 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.

Franz reprised the role of Linda Loman in Showtime’s 2000 television adaptation of *Death of a Salesman*, garnering an Emmy nomination for her work. She shared with *The New York Times* that her portrayal was inspired by her father’s experiences as a blue-collar worker. Her father, who had dedicated nearly four decades to his factory job, was fired following an illness that kept him away for several months. He passed away the day he paid off his mortgage—a parallel that Franz saw reflected in Willy Loman’s story. “It killed my father, really,” she told *The Star-Ledger* in 1999, referring to his firing. “He didn’t commit suicide, like Willy. He didn’t have to.”

Franz also appeared in a variety of other Broadway productions, including *The Cherry Orchard*, *Getting Married*, *Uncle Vanya*, and *The Miracle Worker*. Her film credits include *School Ties* (1992), *Sabrina* (1995), *The Substance of Fire* (1996), and *Christmas with the Kranks* (2004).

On television, she made guest appearances on shows such as *Roseanne*, *The Equalizer*, *Judging Amy*, *Law & Order*, *Homeland*, *Gilmore Girls*, and *Grey’s Anatomy*, as well as on soap operas including *Another World* and *As the World Turns*.

Born on June 18, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, Franz was inspired to become an actress after seeing Loretta Young in *The Bishop’s Wife* (1947). After graduating high school, she worked as a secretary to raise funds for her enrollment at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, from which she graduated in 1962. Shortly afterward, she began performing in local theaters, including productions in her hometown.

In 1983, Franz married character actor Edward Binns, with whom she often collaborated on stage. He passed away in 1990. She is survived by her husband Christopher Pelham, a screenwriter, and her brother Joe.

Elizabeth Franz’s remarkable career and powerful performances have left an indelible mark on the world of theater and screen, remembered fondly by audiences and colleagues alike.

Seahawks swap offensive linemen on Injured Reserve ahead of Week 11 game vs Rams

The Seattle Seahawks have made three final roster moves ahead of their massive Week 11 road matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. John Boyle published a press release detailing these changes at 10:14 a.m. PST on Saturday morning.

Jalen Sundell, who started the first nine games for the Seahawks at center, has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury during Week 10’s blowout win over the Arizona Cardinals. Sundell will miss at least the next four games and is expected to be eligible to return in Week 15’s home game against the Indianapolis Colts, a team that has emerged as a surprising conference frontrunner.

In Sundell’s absence, Olu Oluwatimi stepped in and found success, particularly within the run-blocking scheme. Oluwatimi will start at center for tomorrow’s game.

Additionally, Christian Haynes was activated from injured reserve to take Sundell’s place on the active roster. Haynes will make his 2025 season debut after being sidelined during the preseason. He adds valuable depth to an interior offensive line that has been thin this season, providing backup support for both the starting center and right guard positions.

The Seahawks also elevated linebacker Patrick O’Connell from the practice squad ahead of tomorrow’s game, bolstering their defensive options.

Follow The Seahawks Wire for continued news and analysis as Seattle faces its biggest test yet in Week 11.

Timothée Chalamet Suggests Dropping Ping Pong Balls on Camp Flog Gnaw Crowd for ‘Marty Supreme’

Timothée Chalamet has come up with an intriguing campaign idea for the upcoming film *Marty Supreme* that involves Camp Flog Gnaw, the music festival founded by Tyler, the Creator. With just over a month remaining until the Christmas Day release of the sports comedy-drama—which stars both Chalamet and Tyler (credited as Tyler Okonma)—the actor took to X to share what appeared to be a discussion with the film’s marketing team.

The Zoom meeting mostly featured Chalamet pitching increasingly creative and humorous promotional ideas in an effort to make the movie’s release, in his own words, “one of the most important things that happens on Planet Earth this year.”

He proposed a variety of bold concepts, including distributing “thousands of Wheaties boxes” and painting iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower in orange. Eventually, the SAG Award winner suggested a blimp emblazoned with “Marty Supreme” across the top and “Dream Big” at the bottom.

“Everywhere you go—Marty Supreme blimp,” Chalamet said about 10 minutes and 30 seconds into the video.

Although one member of the team expressed some reservations, Chalamet encouraged everyone to embrace his vision. He also clarified that he preferred not to be directly involved with the blimp because of his fear of flying.

The actor then brought up Camp Flog Gnaw, which was recently postponed from this weekend to the following weekend due to inclement weather in Los Angeles.

“Like, even [as] Tyler is headlining Flog Gnaw, we should have the blimp go above Camp Flog Gnaw and rain Marty Supreme ping-pong balls,” Chalamet suggested.

Another team member raised concerns about the ping-pong balls potentially being a “safety hazard,” though she assured Chalamet that the team would consider the idea carefully.

“I don’t want to put anybody in an unsafe condition, too,” Chalamet added. “But I also don’t want to be too safe about putting out this movie. If it’s the difference between someone losing an arm and putting out the movie and someone gaining an arm intellectually when they see it, I’m a fan of the latter.”

This playful and creative brainstorming session offers a glimpse into the unique promotional strategies being considered to make *Marty Supreme* a memorable holiday release. Fans can look forward to both the film and how its marketing campaign unfolds in the coming weeks.
