**Verification of Death:**
To publish obituaries, a name and phone number of the funeral home or cremation society handling the arrangements are required. We must contact them during business hours to verify the death. If the deceased’s body has been donated to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program or a similar program, their phone number is required for verification. Please allow enough time to contact them, especially during limited weekend hours.

Alternatively, a death certificate is also acceptable for this purpose; only one of these options is necessary.

**Guestbook and Outside Websites:**
We are not allowed to reference other media sources with a guestbook or an obituary placed elsewhere when placing an obituary in print and online. However, we may place a website for a funeral home or a family email for contact instead. Contact us with any questions regarding this matter.

**Obituary Process:**
Once your submission is completed, we will fax or email a proof for review prior to publication in the newspaper. This proof includes price and days the notice is scheduled to appear. Please review the proof carefully. We must be notified of errors or changes before the notice appears in the Pioneer Press based on each day’s deadlines. After publication, we will not be responsible for errors that may occur after final proofing.

Changes to an online obituary can be handled through the obituary desk. Call us with further questions.

**Game Recap: Twins vs. Cleveland Guardians**

Pablo Lopez raced off the mound after a ball deflected off his foot. After retrieving it, he quickly shoveled the ball to first baseman Kody Clemens, beating the runner Angel Martinez. Lopez dove face-first into the grass during the play but got up smiling and gave a thumbs up as he walked back to the mound.

Though Lopez secured the out, the third-inning play contributed to his early departure after four innings and just 61 pitches. This was his third start since returning from a teres major strain that sidelined him for three months. Lopez left the game with right forearm tightness attributed to the dive.

For much of the game, those were the only two runs on the board. The Twins (66-87) struggled offensively, being shut down for the first five innings by Cleveland (82-71) rookie starter Parker Messick. The Twins finally broke through in the sixth inning with hits from Austin Martin, Luke Keaschall, and Royce Lewis, producing two runs.

The score remained 2-2 until the eighth inning when Guardians star Jose Ramirez sparked a two-out rally with a double. The Twins intentionally walked Kyle Manzardo to face Bo Naylor. Ramirez and Manzardo then stole third and second base, respectively, before Naylor brought them both home.

Cleveland added two more runs off reliever Michael Tonkin in the ninth. This late offensive surge lifted the Guardians to a 6-2 victory, marking their eighth consecutive win. The Guardians have now won 13 of their past 14 games and, with a Detroit loss on Friday, have moved 2½ games behind first place in a division race that once seemed out of reach.
