Hangman Page lost his AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe at Full Gear last night. It was a pretty unexpected title change that shocked the entire wrestling fanbase all over the globe. It marked the end of a 133-day title run of Page that started at All In: Texas this year in August. However, now fans wonder why AEW suddenly decided to take the title off of Page at Full Gear. The Anxious Millennial Cowboy was having an incredible run as a champion in the company. In his title reign, Page faced stars like MJF, Kyle Fletcher, and Jon Moxley, proving that he is one of the best in the business right now. But his shocking title loss has put a big question mark on his future in the company, and perhaps what it holds for the AEW World Championship ahead. Therefore, let’s discuss 3 reasons why AEW took the world title off Hangman Page at Full Gear 2025: #3. To give Samoa Joe one final World Title run Samoa Joe delivered one helluva performance at Full Gear to become the new champion. The Samoan Submission Machine is in a few final years of his career right now, and he has already teased his retirement coming sooner than later. Besides, Tony Khan has also promised that he wants to give a proper send-off to Joe before he hangs up his boots for good. Therefore, there are chances that the company might have decided to give him one final run as the AEW World Champion before he retires. Joe has a massive respect in the world of professional wrestling. He has done an amazing job in being a cornerstone for All Elite Wrestling by elevating several stars in the company. As a result, it could be a gift to the veteran in his twilight years of his pro-wrestling career. #2. To give shock value to Full Gear The AEW World Championship change was a big talking point coming out of the Full Gear pay-per-view. Fans were pretty excited about seeing yet another title run by Samoa Joe. Therefore, Tony Khan might have decided to take the title off of Hangman to create some buzz around the top title picture in the company. Such an angle creates a shock factor in the product. Besides, now fans will tune into the next episode of AEW Dynamite to see the aftermath of the Full Gear event. It opens the door for a new chapter for Joe as well as for Hangman Page in the company, which might reinvigorate fans’ interest in the weekly programming for AEW. The company has been facing a major hit on its weekly shows lately. Such a decision could heavily boost ratings for next week’s Dynamite and Collision. #1. To set up yet another chase for Hangman Page Hangman Page is one of the biggest babyfaces in All Elite Wrestling today. However, with him as the World Champion, the company might be facing a little difficulty in presenting him as the hero of the company. Therefore, Tony Khan could be planning yet another title chase arc for The Anxious Millennial Cowboy in the Jacksonville-based promotion to further refine his character. Many believe that Hangman Page is at his best when he is chasing the championship gold. The company can build yet another impactful story around that storyline to create some compelling narrative for the fans. Besides, the 34-year-old star could go up against the top heels of the Jacksonville-based promotion to rebuild himself and reclaim the AEW World Championship at a big pay-per-view next year.

Boston International shuts out Hopedale to win Div. 5 title, make history
Players and fans braved the rain on Saturday to witness Boston International take home the MIAA boys soccer Division 5 state championship with a 2-0 victory over Hopedale. This makes the school the first Boston City League team to win a boys soccer title. “Means a lot,” said Boston International head coach Edmar Varela. “I don’t think any other team earned it more than we did.” Boston International pushed Hopedale all game, staying in control and keeping its opponents on their toes. Despite working hard to keep the Lions at bay, Hopedale couldn’t seem to match up offensively. Both teams started strong in the first half. While Boston International moved the ball several yards at a time, Hopedale responded with a strong defense that kept the Lions at bay for the majority of the first half. However, the Lions delivered just before the end of the first half, with Syberto Brevil scoring the game’s first goal with an assist from Xavier Arriola. “(Xavier) is a team player. His vision is second to none,” said Varela. “These guys, you can never be surprised at what they do. We have a group of athletes . and Syberto’s one of them. He has an incredible shot.” The defensive battle continued through the first 33 minutes of the second half, but Boston International’s Henrich Saint delivered a key insurance goal to double the lead with just about seven minutes remaining. As Hopedale raced against the clock to recover, time just wasn’t on its side. BINCA held onto their 2-0 lead and carried it to victory. Coach Varela is proud of his team’s growth and teamwork this season, something that’s led them to this win. “It’s amazing to see the progress,” he said. “Individually, they’ve always been very solid but playing as a team is the hardest thing. I’ve been doing a lot of preaching about that, and we’ve been doing it all season long.” When asked about his proudest moment this season, Coach Varela didn’t hesitate. “Proudest moment has to be today,” he said. “Winning state champs, this is history. This is for [the players], this is for their families, their school, communities. This is for Boston.”.

Oscar Piastri breaks silence on controversial social media repost about McLaren favoring Lando Norris
Oscar Piastri has addressed his controversial Instagram repost of Bernie Ecclestone’s comments about McLaren favoring Lando Norris in the F1 drivers’ championship. The Australian driver couldn’t offer a concrete explanation for his action, which he claimed was accidental. Ecclestone had made his comments around two weeks ago. The ‘F1 Supremo’, who founded the Formula One Group in 1987, accused McLaren of a ‘British bias’ “McLaren prefers the English driver Norris,” the 94-year-old told Sport. de. “He has more star quality and marketing appeal for them, has more camera presence and publicity. That’s probably why it’s better for McLaren.” Oscar Piastri reposted an Instagram post on day one of the Las Vegas GP weekend, which had those quotes, before deleting it shortly after. It sparked controversy on social media, and after the qualifying session on Saturday, he was asked to address the matter. “I don’t know,” he told RN365. “I woke up this morning and saw it, so I don’t know, maybe I accidentally did it. Obviously, it was not intentional. But yeah, I didn’t know what had happened. So I don’t know.” Bernie Ecclestone’s comments came in the aftermath of the flipping of fortunes at McLaren. Oscar Piastri, the championship leader for most of the season, witnessed a mysterious drop in performance, while Lando Norris scripted his path to the top to lead the championship by 24 points. On Saturday, Norris clinched pole position for the Las Vegas Grand Prix in wet conditions, while Piastri could only manage P5. However, this time around, the Australian driver was affected by some misfortune in the form of yellow flags, which forced him to abort his final flying lap in Q3. Oscar Piastri admits to more complication in the championship fight after Las Vegas qualifying Coming into the Las Vegas GP weekend, Oscar Piastri knew he needed to finish ahead of Lando Norris at all three remaining races and the Sprint in Qatar to have a shot at winning the drivers’ championship. However, he encountered a big hurdle at the very first step, qualifying four positions behind his McLaren teammate in Sin City. But it’s Las Vegas after all, so a lot could happen. We’ve seen pretty entertaining races here the last couple of years, a lot of action, so hopefully I can get myself involved on the right side of that action and make up some ground tomorrow.” Piastri was surprised by the behavior of the tires in the wet qualifying session. The wheelspin, even in fifth and sixth gears, caught him off guard. However, the 50-lap race on Sunday is expected to be in dry conditions, with the 24-year-old hoping for at least a podium finish.

Florida next coach odds: Lane Kiffin remains the favorite
As Florida’s head coaching search drags on, one big name remains a clear favorite for the job. Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin remains the most likely candidate as a 53 percent favorite to be the next head coach in Gainesville, according to Kalshi, a New York-based financial exchange and prediction market. Kiffin, who has led the No. 8 Rebels to a 10-1 start, has been flirting with leaving Oxford with several high-profile openings like Florida and LSU available. No. 22 Missouri’s Eliah Drinkwitz and Washington’s Jedd Fisch follow Kiffin with a 20 percent chance to land the job. Georgia Tech’s Brent Key, who has a six percent chance at being the next Gators head coach, per Kalshi, and no other candidates have odds better than five percent. As of Thursday afternoon, the market, which opened Oct. 21, has drawn nearly $950,000 in bets at Kalshi. Florida parted ways with head coach Billy Napier, who went 22-23 in four seasons, in October after the Gators struggled during a 3-4 start. After losing to Kiffin’s Ole Miss on Saturday, the Gators fell to 3-7, securing their fourth losing season in five years. Kiffin is also seen as a favorite for the LSU opening. The Road to WrestleMania 42 is right around the corner now, and WWE has already started teasing some big storylines for the Grandest Stage of Them All. Some of the biggest names in the industry have come together once again for the massive Survivor Series: WarGames showdown, and fans have been waiting for the action to unfold now. Ahead of the massive event in Las Vegas, the World title pictures on both the men’s and the women’s sides have been intriguing, and some massive storylines seem to be in place for the Showcase of the Immortals. Let’s check out a few World title matches that could take place at WrestleMania 42. #4. Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch Women’s World Championship A WrestleMania showdown between Rhea Ripley and The Man feels overdue, specifically after their teases throughout 2024 and 2025. After their singles showdown at WrestleMania 40, fans have been waiting for another battle between the two massive names, and the upcoming edition of the Grandest Stage of Them All feels like the right place for it. Considering the current storylines with both Lynch and Ripley not involved in the World title picture, WWE could easily get them into the mix and get all the other names engaged in their own storylines. A match between both men at the Show of Shows could undoubtedly main event the PLE. #3. Jade Cargill vs Bianca Belair WWE Women’s Championship Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill crossing paths for the WWE Women’s Championship is a dream match WWE has teased since Jade’s arrival. After months of storylines featuring both women together, WrestleMania 42 feels like the right moment for their first true one-on-one meeting. After Jade Cargill’s recent heel turn and Bianca Belair’s absence over the past few months, the timing feels right. Belair could directly return and begin a story with her former tag team partner, with the latter’s Women’s World title in the line, a fairytale story for WrestleMania 42. #2. Bron Breakker vs Roman Reigns World Heavyweight Championship Bron Breakker stepping up to Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship would be a generational collision. Roman has spent years redefining his dominance across WWE, while Breakker has made a massive name for himself as the current leader of the Vision, after betraying Seth Rollins. Breakker already has Reigns’ attention, and a collision between them seems to be the perfect story. A potential showdown between them, with the possibility of the Visionary returning to take his revenge on Breakker by standing with his former Shield brother, could be an incredible story in its own. #1. Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton Undisputed WWE Championship Cody Rhodes facing Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship has been a storyline that the fans have dreamed of for months now. With the long history both men have with each other, and the recent storylines they were involved in together, a match between them with the stakes as high as possible is indeed overdue now. Considering the current title picture and the ratings of the blue brand, the company could use the goldmine of a storyline to elevate its presence and get all the attention ahead of WrestleMania. Fans will now have to wait and see what the company has in store for the stars next.

NASCAR champion has a message for upcoming Cup rookie Connor Zilisch: “You’re going to get here and fall on your face”
Connor Zilisch is at the center of one of NASCAR’s biggest conversations after Joey Logano delivered a candid message about the challenges that lie ahead for the young driver. The exchange was highlighted in an ESPN report discussing what Zilisch should expect as he prepares to enter the NASCAR Cup Series.
Zilisch is set to join Trackhouse Racing full-time in 2026, where he will pilot the No. 88 Chevrolet backed by major partners Red Bull and WeatherTech. In the ESPN article, Logano acknowledged Zilisch’s talent but warned that talent alone won’t guarantee success at the Cup level. He explained, “You cannot drink your own Kool Aid too much where you think you are the next thing because you are going to get here and fall on your face.”
Logano reflected on his own career as an example, noting that he was thrust into the Cup Series early and quickly realized the gap between the lower series and the Cup was larger than he anticipated. Kyle Busch also weighed in, warning that the jump to Cup is tougher than it seems. He described the transition from Xfinity to Cup as a “rude awakening,” adding, “Drivers do not get it or cannot comprehend that step.” Busch emphasized that, “There are no breaks given whether you are racing for the win, a top 10, or 32nd.”
Connor Zilisch’s racing journey began early—he started karting at the age of five. At fourteen, he won the FIA Karting Academy Trophy, then progressed through a diverse range of motorsports, including sports cars, MX-5 Cup, Trans Am, endurance racing, and stock cars. Veteran driver Kevin Harvick played a significant role in guiding Zilisch toward a NASCAR career.
Zilisch’s resume is impressive, with victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, Late Models, ARCA, Trucks, and the Xfinity Series.
### How Connor Zilisch Handled Losing the Xfinity Title
Before fully turning his attention to the Cup Series, Zilisch faced a setback in the Xfinity Series championship at Phoenix. Despite a record-setting season with dominant performances, the 19-year-old finished behind his close friend Jesse Love, who claimed the title.
Starting the race ahead of other title contenders, Zilisch ultimately fell short but maintained a level-headed perspective. Three days later, in a press conference featured on NASCAR’s official website, he reflected on the defeat:
“At the end of the day, I did everything I could. And my team, the whole JR Motorsports group, we gave our all, and I do not have any reason to be upset about what happened.”
He added, “Yeah, it stings. It sucks. But we did everything we could and we tried our best.”
Zilisch emphasized that he would only regret the outcome if he felt he had left something undone, which he clearly had not. “If I walked out of that place knowing that I could have done something differently, then I probably would have been a little more upset. But I gave it my all. I did everything I could, and the result was not meant to be.”
### Looking Ahead: The Cup Series Future
With his Xfinity chapter behind him, Connor Zilisch will make his move to the NASCAR Cup Series next season, joining Trackhouse Racing alongside teammates Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen. Stefan Parsons will serve as his spotter, helping guide his transition to the sport’s top level.
As the motorsports community watches closely, Zilisch’s talent, work ethic, and grounded attitude will be key factors as he steps into one of the most competitive racing environments in the world.

Franco Colapinto lashes out at serial offender Lance Stroll for ‘taking out’ Gabriel Bortoleto in the F1 Brazilian GP
Franco Colapinto Opens Up About Gabriel Bortoleto’s Crash at 2025 Brazil GP
The 2025 Brazil Grand Prix proved to be a challenging weekend for Gabriel Bortoleto. The home favorite faced a series of setbacks, including a crash in the sprint race, the inability to participate in qualifying, and another crash during the main race. As the dust settled, Alpine driver Franco Colapinto brought renewed attention to the incident, pointing fingers at Lance Stroll for causing Bortoleto’s crash in São Paulo.
Speaking to the media, Colapinto shared his perspective on the incident:
“Stroll is just always taking people out, just not looking in the mirrors, leaving no track, and he put Gabi in the wall. I overtook two cars—it was Lewis [Hamilton] and Colapinto on the outside of turn six,” Bortoleto had recalled earlier.
Colapinto elaborated on the collision:
“It was a nice move. Then Lance, I was just side by side with him out of turn nine. There’s no pointing fingers here. It was just lap one, and I was on the outside. He opened a little bit more than there was space. He clipped my front tyre, and I ended up in the wall.”
He added, “I think it’s a racing incident. Obviously, if he had given a bit more space, I would have taken the corner and probably overtaken him because he had worse tyres than I did—I was on softs. But again, it’s a racing incident. He didn’t do it on purpose, I’m sure. Every time I fight with him, he’s fair with me. So it’s just racing.”
On lap one, Bortoleto struggled to find grip and track position while attempting an outside overtaking maneuver. Lance Stroll blocked his path, leading to contact between Stroll’s left rear tyre and Bortoleto’s front tyre. This caused Bortoleto to lose control and crash into the barrier. Despite the severity of the incident, Colapinto emphasized that it was a racing incident rather than a deliberate collision.

Franco Colapinto Reflects on Securing 2026 Alpine Seat
Following the Brazil GP, Alpine confirmed that Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly will remain with the team for the 2026 season. This decision maintains the same driver lineup as the current year.
Colapinto expressed his gratitude and optimism for the future:
“I am very grateful to Flavio and the entire team for their belief in me to help drive the team forwards in the future. It has been a long and tough road, and I am very proud for the opportunity to drive with this team again in 2026, alongside Pierre who has been a great teammate and undoubtedly someone I can continue to learn from.”
So far this season, after 21 races and five sprint events, Colapinto has yet to score points. Meanwhile, teammate Pierre Gasly sits 18th in the standings with 22 points. Alpine currently holds 10th place in the Constructors’ Championship with a total of 22 points.

Lampasas takes down San Angelo Lake View in bi-district game, ending historic season
Early turnovers put the Lake View High School football team in an early hole during a 52-14 loss to Lampasas in the bi-district round at San Angelo Stadium on Thursday.
A fumble and goal-line interception gave the Badgers (9-2) a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, and the Chiefs (7-4) were unable to recover.
They did respond to the tough opening quarter with a 7-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Chris Alvizo to Cristian Esparza. However, on a promising offensive drive, Alvizo suffered an upper-body injury and was ruled out of the game midway through the second quarter. Alvizo got off the field under his own power but appeared shaken up after spending some time on the turf. After the game, coach Hector Guevara did not provide details on the nature of Alvizo’s injury.
Backup quarterback Chris Shumpert came into the game and led the Chiefs to their second scoring drive, which was capped by a 6-yard touchdown pass to freshman wideout Andrew Young.
Turnovers continued to plague the Chiefs throughout the game, finishing with four interceptions and two fumbles. Before the Chiefs could blink, the Badgers were up 42-7 after scoring on their first six drives. Lampasas had three fumbles but recovered them all.
“I think the kids played with their hearts, and our community should be proud of them for all they’ve done and continue to do,” Guevara said. “They played with a lot of class and a lot of love and a lot of effort, and they played for each other. That was the most important thing.”
Lake View’s season ended with a 7-4 record, their best since 1996. Guevara credited the senior class for this year’s historic season and the excitement surrounding the program.
“It’s been a phenomenal year,” Lake View running back Izaiah Rios said. “I have no regrets with this team. All these seniors grew up together since we were kids, and it was just awesome to be able to play four years with them and this season with them. They’re just my family. I have no regrets at all with them.”
Lampasas improved to 9-2 and will face off against No. 4 West Plains in the area round.

Pat McAfee Links Brian Daboll to High-Profile College Coaching Job
Football fans have quickly begun speculating about what may be next for former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll after he was let go by the organization on Monday. This led former NFL punter Pat McAfee to suggest a potential fit for Daboll at the collegiate level.
Daboll hasn’t coached collegiately since briefly serving as an offensive coordinator under Nick Saban at Alabama in 2017. Notably, this lone season with the Crimson Tide was a wildly successful one, helping the program win a National Championship.
With no prior head coaching experience at the college level, Daboll isn’t exactly the first name that comes to mind for most when it comes to some of the top head coaching vacancies across college football. However, Pat McAfee shared why he believes Daboll could be a “home run” hire for Penn State athletic director Patrick Kraft.
“Daboll getting fired from the Giants seemingly opens the door for Penn State to make a move that everybody will like up there,” McAfee said on Wednesday’s edition of *The Pat McAfee Show*. “I assume Pat Kraft and everybody that’s making the decision is like, ‘Hold the phone, we got a guy who wants to be here very, very bad seemingly and has a big name.’ That could be a home run for them. We would like to say to Daboll, if you go to Penn State college football would be pumped. He would be electrifying.”
McAfee’s comments come after a photo surfaced of Daboll wearing a Penn State hoodie following his firing from the Giants, naturally sparking plenty of speculation that he may at least have an interest in the job.
It’s possible that fans may be reading too much into Daboll wearing Penn State apparel. However, there are notable ties within the Daboll family to the program. His son, Christian Daboll, spent three seasons as a student coach with the Nittany Lions before ultimately joining his father on the Giants coaching staff.
While it remains unclear whether Penn State has any interest in hiring Daboll, it certainly seems that the Nittany Lions would be near the top of his list if he is open to a return to college coaching.
More NFL opportunities could also emerge as we approach the end of the 2025 NFL regular season. At this point, it truly seems like everything may still be on the table for Daboll as he figures out his future in coaching.
