Florida next coach odds: Lane Kiffin remains the favorite

As Florida’s head coaching search drags on, one big name remains a clear favorite for the job. Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin remains the most likely candidate as a 53 percent favorite to be the next head coach in Gainesville, according to Kalshi, a New York-based financial exchange and prediction market. Kiffin, who has led the No. 8 Rebels to a 10-1 start, has been flirting with leaving Oxford with several high-profile openings like Florida and LSU available. No. 22 Missouri’s Eliah Drinkwitz and Washington’s Jedd Fisch follow Kiffin with a 20 percent chance to land the job. Georgia Tech’s Brent Key, who has a six percent chance at being the next Gators head coach, per Kalshi, and no other candidates have odds better than five percent. As of Thursday afternoon, the market, which opened Oct. 21, has drawn nearly $950,000 in bets at Kalshi. Florida parted ways with head coach Billy Napier, who went 22-23 in four seasons, in October after the Gators struggled during a 3-4 start. After losing to Kiffin’s Ole Miss on Saturday, the Gators fell to 3-7, securing their fourth losing season in five years. Kiffin is also seen as a favorite for the LSU opening. He’s far from a guarantee to leave Ole Miss, though. As of this writing, Kalshi is giving him just a 17 percent chance of leaving the school he’s called home for the past six seasons. Ole Miss reportedly is willing to match any offer Kiffin receives. Why Trust New York Post Betting Dylan Svoboda is a versatile writer and analyst across many sports. Why gardening mishaps are a (sometimes painful) part of the process

By Jessica Damiano | The Associated Press I’ll be the first to admit there have been a few frights in my garden over the years, starting with the English ivy and pea-gravel mulch I inherited when I moved into the house and ending with the mint I foolishly planted directly in the ground many years ago, when I didn’t realize it would still be around to haunt me today. Did I say “ending with?” Who am I kidding? I’m still causing all sorts of mayhem in my beds and borders. Recently, I had to hire a landscaper to remove the creeping Liriope I mistook for the clumping type. The poor guy toiled with a pickaxe for more than three hours. I’m just glad he didn’t come after me with it. In the process, I lost many of the weedy groundcover’s mature perennial and bulb neighbors, and it will be years before the new plantings mature and the border returns to its former abundant glory. Plenty of blame Some ghastly garden scenarios, like my mint mishap, are clearly our own fault, but the blame for others can fall squarely on outsiders, like the nurseries that mislabel plants or the squirrels that “plant” invasive species among our natives. Either way, the cleanup falls to us. Nobody knows this better than John and Mary Richardson of Port Jefferson Station, New York, who wrote to tell me about that one time they were advised to apply cayenne pepper around their vegetable plants to repel the critters that were wreaking havoc on their harvests. “We happily and liberally sprinkled it in every bed in the garden,” they told me, adding that they took care to repeat the application after every rainfall to ensure “the protection would continue.” Before long, the couple said, pepper plants were taking over all their vegetable and flower beds. “It had never occurred to us to use ground cayenne and not pepper flakes, which are seeds,” they admitted. Speaking of seeds reminds me of a tale recounted years ago by a reader who was perplexed by the weekly disappearances of tomatoes from his vines. After checking to assess the ripeness of one particularly plump heirloom beauty, he decided to hold off on harvesting for one more day, when he planned to enjoy a tomato-sandwich lunch. But when the salivating sower went out to pick it, that tomato, too, was nowhere to be found. It was lawn-mowing day, he said, and it didn’t take long for him to discover “the landscapers had tomato seeds in their teeth.” I also once heard from a desperate reader who was battling the running bamboo that had been planted by his next-door neighbor. The viciously invasive, iron-rooted plant had grown under the fence dividing their properties and was poking up through his swimming pool liner. I wonder if he had to move. ‘The ultimate rookie mistake’ Then there’s Alyssa Sirek from Granbury, Texas: “With years of horticulture experience, I made the ultimate rookie mistake,” she admitted. “I put a bird feeder directly over our freshly landscaped rockscape and forgot that bird seed is, in fact, seed. “Between the birds flinging seeds like confetti and a few solid Texas rainstorms, our clean rockscape transformed into accidental chaos,” she said. Committed to avoiding pesticides, Sirek spent hours “hand-pulling surprise sprouts, collecting ant bites, knee scrapes, and a bruised ego along the way.” Months later, she said, stray seedlings still pop up from time to time, particularly after storms. Hoping for a fun project to do with her kids, she ordered ladybug larvae by mail. “I released them onto my zucchini plants, later to find out they were actually squash beetles,” she said. “They decimated all of my plants.” And sometimes, it comes with the job. Alice Raimondo says she sees a lot of strange things working as a horticultural lab coordinator at the Cornell Cooperative Extension’s diagnostic clinic in Riverhead, New York, where homeowners bring diseased plants and creepy insects for identification. Once, a woman brought in a wreath she was making out of cones that she’d collected, Raimondo remembers. “She liked the way the cones looked, but after working with a few of them, (she noticed) they wriggled,” she said. “Turns out, they were bagworms,” destructive pests that wrap themselves in “bags” that they construct from leaves and other plant parts. The woman “was pretty grossed out,” Raimondo said. As these brave gardeners can attest, one simple mistake can turn into a gruesome cautionary tale. ___ Jessica Damiano writes weekly gardening columns for the AP and publishes the award-winning Weekly Dirt Newsletter.

This Big-Budget Sci-Fi Adaptation of a Classic Video Game Just Hit 88.9 Million Hours in 6 Months

After years of failed attempts, it seems like Hollywood is finally starting to crack the code for adapting video games for movies and television. Not only have game adaptations like The Last of Us and Fallout debut to critical acclaim and sky-high ratings, but other video game projects are in the works, whether it’s The Legend of Zelda movie, a new Street Fighter film, or Mass Effect and God of War shows in the works at Prime Video. One of 2025’s most watched shows is also a video game adaptation, although, ironically, it’s one that was the target of scorn from fans and critics alike. That series is Halo, which at the time of writing has logged 88. 9 million hours of viewing over the past six months. Part of the reason why Halo’s taken off on the streaming charts is that it’s moved to Netflix. A handful of older shows, particularly Friends and Suits, enjoyed what’s called “The Netflix Effect” as older fans rediscover why they loved these shows in the first place, while newer fans get to experience them for the first time. Halo is a completely different beast as it’s a science fiction/military story based on a highly popular video game series. Yet its current reception feels like a much needed win after a long, rocky road to television and a less than favorable reception when it first aired. ‘Halo’ Dealt With Production Problems & Creative Backlash Halo was first slated to hit the silver screen with Peter Jackson attached as a producer, while Guillermo del Toro and Neill Blomkamp were considered as directors. That film never came to life due to a dispute between Universal and 20th Century Fox, eventually leading the Halo rights to go back to Microsoft. Steven Spielberg took up executive producer duties on the Halo TV show, which was meant to play on Showtime. Almost immediately, turmoil surrounded the production. Despite the Halo series being announced in 2013, it wasn’t until 2019 that production actually started moving forward. On top of that, original director Rupert Wyatt departed the series, with Otto Bathurst stepping in to direct and produce. Finally, Halo would switch places with The Man Who Fell To Earth, moving from its home at Showtime to Paramount+. Once Halo premiered, it faced immense scrutiny from fans and critics. Perhaps one of the biggest shakeups is the fact that Master Chief/John-117 (Pablo Schreiber) ends up removing his helmet in the very first episode of the series an action that felt unspeakable to fans, since John remains armored throughout the video games. If that wasn’t enough, John ends up developing a relationship with Makee (Charlie Murphy), a human raised by his enemies the Covenant, to the point where they have sex. Many viewers, and Scrhieber, felt that this scene crossed a line, since Makee was technically a prisoner of war. Things pick up with the second season, which covers the infamous “Fall of Reach” event that kicks off the first Halo game. It also features a more subtle performance from Schrieber, who starts to lean more into Master Chief’s silent but capable role from the games. On top of that, Halo’s exploration of the friction between the United Space Nations Command and other planets, not to mention John’s past life before he became the Master Chief, added plenty of dimension while also making sure that the show wasn’t just copying elements from the game. It’s a strange mix of elements that worked far better than expected, and also makes sense since the show takes place in a different timeline from the games. There Could Be More ‘Halo’ on the Horizon and Netflix Would Be the Perfect Home Despite its second season improving in almost every way, Halo was canceled last year by Paramount+. There’s a silver lining, as Amblin, Xbox and 343 Industries are looking for a potential new home for a third season. With the series having landed on Netflix and receiving immense numbers, it’s only fitting that Netflix should be the new home for Halo. It’s clearly found an audience, and it would continue Netflix’s trend of incredible video game-based television shows. Time will tell if Halo gets a third season, but it’s clear that it’s received a bonus life thanks to its new streaming home. Halo is available to stream on Paramount+ and Netflix.

Seahawks swap offensive linemen on Injured Reserve ahead of Week 11 game vs Rams

The Seattle Seahawks have made three final roster moves ahead of their massive Week 11 road matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. John Boyle published a press release detailing these changes at 10:14 a.m. PST on Saturday morning.

Jalen Sundell, who started the first nine games for the Seahawks at center, has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury during Week 10’s blowout win over the Arizona Cardinals. Sundell will miss at least the next four games and is expected to be eligible to return in Week 15’s home game against the Indianapolis Colts, a team that has emerged as a surprising conference frontrunner.

In Sundell’s absence, Olu Oluwatimi stepped in and found success, particularly within the run-blocking scheme. Oluwatimi will start at center for tomorrow’s game.

Additionally, Christian Haynes was activated from injured reserve to take Sundell’s place on the active roster. Haynes will make his 2025 season debut after being sidelined during the preseason. He adds valuable depth to an interior offensive line that has been thin this season, providing backup support for both the starting center and right guard positions.

The Seahawks also elevated linebacker Patrick O’Connell from the practice squad ahead of tomorrow’s game, bolstering their defensive options.

Follow The Seahawks Wire for continued news and analysis as Seattle faces its biggest test yet in Week 11.

Travis Kelce Details How He Spent His Bye Week With Taylor Swift in New York

**Travis Kelce Details His Bye Week in New York City**

During today’s episode of *New Heights*, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce shared how he spent his 2024 bye week in New York City. While he refrained from explicitly mentioning his fiancée Taylor Swift, fans won’t have to wonder for long—Kelce was photographed on dates with Swift on both Wednesday and Thursday nights last week.

Kelce began by saying, “I got out of the house a little bit, I went over to New York. I just hung out there, put the feet up, saw some cool places, ate some great food, and got to feel the big city in its electricity and buzz that it’s always got.”

He added, “Yeah, it’s my favorite time as the seasons are changing to be around the Midwest and the Northeast. But yeah, it was pretty fun.”

During his trip, Kelce visited Puffy’s Tavern, where he was photographed without Swift, and “met some friends.” He described the experience as “cool to just kinda vibe around the city like that.”

“I think it’s one of my favorite things to do in New York, it’s just be one with the city and just kinda walk the streets and feel the electricity, feeling everybody doing their own shit and meeting a few new people along the way,” he said.

Kelce also revealed his fondness for people watching: “People watching is one of my favorite things to do. That’s another reason why I love New York: I love to people-watch. You’ll see people doing some wild shit.”

This wasn’t Kelce’s first time spending his bye week in New York City with Swift. The couple previously attended a Yankees game together. However, this year, they have kept their relationship more private. Swift has flown under the radar at Kelce’s football games, avoiding being photographed arriving at the stadium throughout the season.

On October 28, a source told *Us Weekly* that the couple was seeking this privacy because the attention Swift attracted at Kelce’s sports events was “getting too excessive.” The insider added that the couple is actively planning their wedding in private, hoping for a ceremony next summer.

“Everything is coming along,” the source explained. “They are both very involved, and Taylor thinks it’s cute that Travis wants to help.”

The insider also shared that the couple doesn’t want a long engagement, saying, “[They] very much want to start a family in the next year or so. Family means everything to them.”

Microsoft Store Leaks Upcoming Release of Silent Hill 2 Remake for Xbox Systems

**Silent Hill 2 Remake Launches November 21st on Xbox**

The release of the *Silent Hill 2 Remake* for Xbox has been rumored over the past few weeks. Now, a listing has appeared on the Microsoft Store that seemingly confirms the upcoming release—and even provides a release date to mark on your calendar!

As reported by TrueAchievements.com, a listing for *Silent Hill 2 Remake* by Bloober Team went live on the Microsoft Store. It indicates that the game will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, although there’s no mention of Xbox Play Anywhere support.

While the listing itself did not explicitly state the release date, the team at TrueAchievements explored the page’s code and discovered a hidden date: **November 21, 2025**.

This isn’t the first leak or rumor surrounding *Silent Hill 2 Remake* on Xbox. Most notably, the game recently received an ESRB rating that confirmed its availability on Xbox Series systems.

### Deluxe Edition and Dual Pack Revealed

Beyond the release date, the listing also unveiled some exciting extras. There will be a **Deluxe Edition** of the game, which includes:
– A digital artbook
– A digital soundtrack
– A fun Pyramid Head “pizza box” cosmetic item

Additionally, the game is set to release in a **dual pack** alongside the series’ latest entry, *Silent Hill f*. For those looking to immerse themselves in foggy, horror-filled towns, this bundle promises a great experience.

### “Born From a Wish” DLC Still Missing

One notable absence in the listing is the “Born From a Wish” DLC. Though there have been rumors about this content, no official confirmation or tangible details have emerged yet.

For those unfamiliar, *Born from a Wish* was a short bonus campaign included in the original *Silent Hill 2* Xbox port. It was also part of the Director’s Cut and Greatest Hits re-releases on PlayStation 2. The DLC featured Maria as the protagonist shortly before she meets James in the main story, expanding slightly on her role.

While the campaign’s short length led many fans and critics to view it as relatively insignificant, some were hopeful it would be remade as DLC for the *Silent Hill 2 Remake*. Such an addition could have expanded the campaign into something more meaningful.

Stay tuned for more updates on *Silent Hill 2 Remake* as the November 21, 2025 release date approaches!

Tessa Thompson Says She ‘Forgot How to Move’ During Studio Smoke Session

Tessa Thompson recently shared a hilarious story about the time she got too high to function while trying to record music. During an interview on *The Graham Norton Show*, the actress opened up about immersing herself in the musician lifestyle while working on songs for the *Creed II* soundtrack—a process that included a particularly memorable studio smoke session gone wrong.

“I grew up around musicians a lot, and I’ve sort of come from a musical family,” Thompson, known for her roles in *Creed* and *Thor: Love and Thunder*, explained. “But I’m not a trained musician at all. When we were making music, I was like, ‘I really want to immerse myself in the musician’s life,’ so [composer] Ludwig Göransson and I locked ourselves in a studio for two weeks to make this original music.”

The creative process was full of fun until some of the musicians decided to light up, and Thompson felt she had to join in. “Now I’m a musician,” she joked. However, what was supposed to be a bonding moment quickly turned into total paralysis.

“It was like the stoniest I’ve ever been in my entire life,” Thompson recalled with a laugh. “I remember just being there on the couch and them being like, ‘OK, let’s lay down some vocals,’ and me being like, ‘I don’t know how to move.’”

The experience spiraled into a mix of self-doubt and panic before she managed to pull herself together. “Everyone was mad, I was mad at myself,” she said. “I had to go outside and be like, ‘OK, get back in there, you can do it.’ And then I did, and it was fine. But I was like, ‘OK, I’m never going to smoke pot again when I have to perform.’”

Smriti Mandhana departs in tame fashion after 104-run opening partnership in IND vs SA Women’s World Cup 2025 final [Watch]

Team India’s opening batter Smriti Mandhana narrowly missed out on a half-century after getting dismissed by Chloe Tryon in the Women’s World Cup 2025 Final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2.

The left-handed opener was trying to play a cut shot when she nicked one, handing the opposition their first breakthrough following a brilliant 104-run partnership. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma had provided India with a flying start after opposition skipper Laura Wolvaardt chose to bowl first.

While Mandhana played a more measured role, gradually switching gears, the returning Shafali Verma was explosive, capitalizing on the first powerplay with aggressive strokeplay.

Mandhana looked in solid touch against the spinners as they tried to tighten the middle overs. Despite India’s recent struggles against spin, especially left-arm spin, the duo coped well with the bowling of Nonkululeko Mlaba and Sune Luus.

Left-arm spinner Chloe Tryon was introduced into the attack in the 18th over. Mandhana took on Tryon immediately, smashing a boundary off just the second delivery. However, right after the 100-run stand was reached, Mandhana attempted the cut shot again, only to edge the ball to wicket-keeper Sinalo Jafta, who held on to the catch and ended the partnership.

Smriti Mandhana walked back after scoring 45 runs off 58 balls, including eight fours, at a strike rate of 77.59.

### Impressive World Cup Campaign for Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana concluded the Women’s World Cup 2025 with an outstanding run tally of 434 runs. After a slow start to the tournament, she found her rhythm and ended up as the highest run-scorer for India in a single edition of the competition.

This impressive total surpassed Mithali Raj’s 409 runs scored during the 2017 Women’s World Cup in England.

At the time of writing, India are well-placed at 137/1 in the 24th over. Shafali Verma received a second chance after Anneke Bosch dropped a routine catch at deep mid-wicket, keeping India’s innings on track in the final.

India vs Australia Match Prediction: Who will win today’s AUS vs IND 2025 3rd T20I match?

After a splendid run of T20I form that saw them clinch the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Asia Cup amid a plethora of bilateral trophies, India are finally up against a real challenge. The Men in Blue are in the middle of a high-profile series against Australia, and things aren’t going swimmingly at the moment.

India were in a decent position during the series opener in Canberra, but rain ensured a washout. Then, in Melbourne, Suryakumar Yadav and company were blown away by a stunning new-ball spell from Josh Hazlewood. More importantly, both their team combination as well as the suitability of their players to the conditions Down Under are suspect at the moment.

On Sunday, November 2, India will lock horns with the Aussies in the third T20I at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The visitors will know that they need to secure a victory if they are to stay in contention to lift the trophy.

Australia will be without Hazlewood, who has been rested keeping the Ashes in mind. Glenn Maxwell is back, however, and the hosts will be keen on sustaining their stellar form in the shortest format.

### India’s T20I squad for the Australia tour:
– Suryakumar Yadav (captain)
– Abhishek Sharma
– Shubman Gill (vice-captain)
– Tilak Varma
– Nitish Kumar Reddy
– Shivam Dube
– Axar Patel
– Jitesh Sharma (wk)
– Varun Chakaravarthy
– Jasprit Bumrah
– Arshdeep Singh
– Kuldeep Yadav
– Harshit Rana
– Sanju Samson (wk)
– Rinku Singh
– Washington Sundar

### Australia’s T20I squad for the India series:
– Mitchell Marsh (c)
– Sean Abbott (games 1-3)
– Xavier Bartlett
– Mahli Beardman (games 3-5)
– Tim David
– Ben Dwarshuis (games 4-5)
– Nathan Ellis
– Josh Hazlewood (games 1-2)
– Ben McDermott (standby player)
– Glenn Maxwell (games 3-5)
– Travis Head
– Josh Inglis
– Matthew Kuhnemann
– Mitchell Owen
– Josh Philippe
– Tanveer Sangha
– Matthew Short
– Marcus Stoinis

### AUS vs IND 2025: Can India pull level in the 5-match series?

Can India overcome the Aussie pace challenge? More importantly, can their bowling ask questions of a power-packed batting lineup? It’s certainly possible, but it doesn’t seem probable right now.

India’s middle order seems ill-equipped to counter the conditions in Australia. Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube have blown hot and cold of late, while captain Suryakumar Yadav looks completely out of sorts. Harshit Rana is slated to bat at No. 8, meaning that the Men in Blue don’t have the depth they so desperately crave.

Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma will breathe easy in Hazlewood’s absence, and the third T20I will probably be their best shot at a victory so far. But the fact of the matter is that India are overly reliant on their openers, particularly Abhishek, to do the bulk of the run-scoring.

Australia, despite seeing their bowling attack take a hit, will likely be the favorites for the encounter. India are in with a real chance and shouldn’t be counted out, but their performances so far just haven’t been convincing.

**Prediction:** Australia to win the 3rd T20I vs India.
