Oscar Piastri breaks silence on controversial social media repost about McLaren favoring Lando Norris

Oscar Piastri has addressed his controversial Instagram repost of Bernie Ecclestone’s comments about McLaren favoring Lando Norris in the F1 drivers’ championship. The Australian driver couldn’t offer a concrete explanation for his action, which he claimed was accidental. Ecclestone had made his comments around two weeks ago. The ‘F1 Supremo’, who founded the Formula One Group in 1987, accused McLaren of a ‘British bias’ “McLaren prefers the English driver Norris,” the 94-year-old told Sport. de. “He has more star quality and marketing appeal for them, has more camera presence and publicity. That’s probably why it’s better for McLaren.” Oscar Piastri reposted an Instagram post on day one of the Las Vegas GP weekend, which had those quotes, before deleting it shortly after. It sparked controversy on social media, and after the qualifying session on Saturday, he was asked to address the matter. “I don’t know,” he told RN365. “I woke up this morning and saw it, so I don’t know, maybe I accidentally did it. Obviously, it was not intentional. But yeah, I didn’t know what had happened. So I don’t know.” Bernie Ecclestone’s comments came in the aftermath of the flipping of fortunes at McLaren. Oscar Piastri, the championship leader for most of the season, witnessed a mysterious drop in performance, while Lando Norris scripted his path to the top to lead the championship by 24 points. On Saturday, Norris clinched pole position for the Las Vegas Grand Prix in wet conditions, while Piastri could only manage P5. However, this time around, the Australian driver was affected by some misfortune in the form of yellow flags, which forced him to abort his final flying lap in Q3. Oscar Piastri admits to more complication in the championship fight after Las Vegas qualifying Coming into the Las Vegas GP weekend, Oscar Piastri knew he needed to finish ahead of Lando Norris at all three remaining races and the Sprint in Qatar to have a shot at winning the drivers’ championship. However, he encountered a big hurdle at the very first step, qualifying four positions behind his McLaren teammate in Sin City. But it’s Las Vegas after all, so a lot could happen. We’ve seen pretty entertaining races here the last couple of years, a lot of action, so hopefully I can get myself involved on the right side of that action and make up some ground tomorrow.” Piastri was surprised by the behavior of the tires in the wet qualifying session. The wheelspin, even in fifth and sixth gears, caught him off guard. However, the 50-lap race on Sunday is expected to be in dry conditions, with the 24-year-old hoping for at least a podium finish.

Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe review: A welcome reunion with the homies

Here at Shacknews, I’ve talked about *Atelier* a few times. GUST and Koei Tecmo’s item synthesis and cozy vibes RPG series has had a lot of ups and downs over the past few decades.

If you’ve read my previous reviews, you might have a skewed perspective, as the most recent outing was a big down, and the one before was, excuse the cliché, a mixed bag. But dial the clock back just a bit more, and you have the current peak of Atelier mountain: Ryza. This time, we get to talk about Ryza. Banger, banger, banger.

### The Ryza Trilogy: A Rare Direct Sequel Success

Atelier games typically come in loose trilogies, usually tied together by a theme, a location, or—very rarely—an actual character. Ryza, which started in 2017 with *Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout*, ended up being a whole set of direct sequels, a rare move for this series.

That’s because Ryza was such a hit, especially thanks to the debuting Nintendo Switch that year and a craze for physical copies that were constantly selling out. The series broke containment in a way GUST didn’t seem to be expecting.

You can trace that success not only to how the series evolves in the Ryza trilogy, but also to how *Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout* was a massive expansion in scope. Its sequels maintained that momentum, capturing lightning in a bottle and nourishing it across two sequels in a way few series can—especially in a niche where resources are inherently limited.

### What Makes Ryza So Great?

It’s a little tough to quantify what’s so great about the Ryza series. A certain sect of the fanbase will say “thighs,” which is valid I guess, but there’s a lot more to it than that.

Ryza herself is a character with compelling energy in a series where most Atelier protagonists tend to be a little more quaint and low energy. Ryza is a go-getter who accidentally stumbles into alchemy as a side effect of a desperate want for adventure, and that’s a fun dynamic for a cozy game.

Meanwhile, the trilogy itself is an excellent use case for what a trilogy can be from a storytelling perspective. You can feel the passage of time—from how these characters’ lives develop, to their relationships with each other and even the spaces they live in.

It hits differently if you binge the trilogy rather than waiting the years between each release, but there’s still an emotional weight when, in the third game, you retrace your steps and reminisce about the past.

### Gameplay Evolution and Nostalgia

With how much the gameplay systems change and evolve across the trilogy, there’s a transformative wonder in how differently you interact with these spaces as well. It’s like going back home after moving away, mentally tracking how different everything is, and processing the emotions those differences stir.

It’s good stuff, on top of the usual Atelier fare such as grinding numbers, bopping cute enemies with a creative and evolving combat system, and growing from making weak, crappy items to synthesizing a cartoony-ass bomb that could probably level a building.

These are special games, and I’d suggest anyone who is into RPGs but has been unsure about where to start with Atelier to jump in right here. Just be prepared to keep chasing that high for now, as GUST is still figuring things out.

### What’s Deluxe About It, Then?

Another tradition in the world of *Atelier* is the DX branding. After a series wraps up, GUST returns to it later with a set of re-releases that make tweaks, add additional content, collect DLC for “free,” and let players snag a whole trilogy for an overall discount.

This was great for collectors too—especially for the growing Switch community at the time—because you could import physical copies of previous trilogies, getting a whole set of games on one cartridge that included English language options and all the additional extras.

Now it’s Ryza’s turn.

Like before, you can catch up on the Ryza trilogy if you missed it earlier, at a lower price point and with additional features such as new story content, new playable characters, secret bosses, and more. It’s a great deal and even a decent deal for Atelier fans willing to double dip.

### The Console Generation Crossover

What’s interesting here is the weird intersection of console generations that happened between the first Ryza and its sequels—and in Nintendo’s case, after as well.

Being a smaller developer in the grand scheme of things, GUST is known for fun, breezy, and beautiful games, but not necessarily for fidelity and performance at the top of the line. But the Ryza DX series came with a unique opportunity, especially for the first game.

### FPS Dreams, Shattered

*Atelier Ryza 1* runs beautifully on PlayStation 5. Having a classic *Atelier* game that looks this good and runs smoothly is a wonderful thing, and a great excuse to upgrade from the PS4 version without a doubt.

On the Switch 2, however, you’re capped at a locked 30 frames per second. The tradeoff is that it runs with more muscle in the lighting and reflection department than the original Switch version, and it’s clearly running at 1080p in handheld mode — all while maintaining that locked 30 fps without breaking a sweat.

So it looks amazing and doesn’t have those weird jitters the recent *Persona 3 Reload* port suffers from. But as a game with some hybridized real-time elements in its turn-based combat system, that frame rate on PlayStation looks *really* good.

Sadly, there’s no option to choose performance mode at the expense of some visual upgrades, considering the Switch 1 version is playable and runs at a smooth, locked 30 fps on Switch 2 as well.

### Performance on Ryza 2 and 3

Performance concerns are less significant for *Ryza 2* and *3*, which were already released on PS5 and were finicky there to begin with. For example, the PS5 version of *Ryza 2* can run at 60 fps in performance mode, but you have to manually limit the resolution output in the console UI to get there.

Having these run at a smooth 30 fps on Switch 2 is a welcome outcome—expecting 60 fps on Switch 2 would have been foolish.

Overall, it’s a strangely fun exercise in going back over history, tracking how things can change across hardware releases, managing expectations, and finding what to appreciate.

*Ryza 1* is the only bummer part, and even then it’s still an improvement.

### Looking Ahead

Hopefully as time goes on, we can have more stable expectations for Nintendo Switch 2 ports. As of now, it still feels like the Wild West.

And don’t get me started on the physical aspect—that’s a whole other issue and not as relevant to this review.

### Final Thoughts

Ultimately, the *Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe* series is a treat for fans and a brilliant new way for possible newcomers to jump into the best the Atelier series currently has to offer.

It’s a perfect way to try *Atelier* for the first time, especially since you don’t have to buy the whole trilogy upfront if you don’t want to. But it’s an excellent deal considering the new content and upgrades.

Even if the Switch 2 version isn’t the perfect edition I had in mind, it’s still a great chunk of RPG goodness for the new console.

Regardless of the platform, Ryza’s three-part adventure was a big deal the first time around for real reasons—and the DX version only serves as reinforcement.

### Availability

The *Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack* is available on November 13, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.

A Switch 2 code was provided by the publisher for this review.

Sarah Paulson Accidentally Spat a Chip Into Kim Kardashian’s Eye While Filming ‘All’s Fair’

Sarah Paulson and Kim Kardashian may play fierce rivals on screen, but off-screen, they can’t stop laughing.

While filming a heated courtroom scene for their upcoming Hulu drama *All’s Fair*, things took an unexpected turn when Paulson accidentally spat a potato chip directly into Kardashian’s eye.

“I had to say some really scandalous things in Kim’s face,” Paulson told *People* in a new digital cover story. “I did at one time spit a potato chip on her. I was in her face screaming, and it was like, ‘Bing!’ I saw it go in her eye.”

The incident broke the tension on set, leaving both stars in fits of laughter despite the scene’s intensity.

“Sarah and Kim sometimes could not look at each other without laughing,” recalled co-star Glenn Close, while Niecy Nash-Betts added, “Once the laughter started, we all knew it was going to be at least 30 minutes before we could even start.”

In *All’s Fair*, Kardashian and Paulson lead a powerhouse ensemble, including Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, and Close, as elite female divorce attorneys who strike out on their own in Los Angeles.

*All’s Fair* premieres November 4 on Hulu.

Kardashian, who also serves as executive producer, said the series centers on women lifting each other up through adversity.

“Even if you’re having a hard time or don’t believe in yourself, your girls are there to lift you up,” she said.

Now That’s Some Hissing Humor: 27 Cat Memes to Boost Your Spirits Until Halloween

The almost-Halloween mood is bubbling with excitement. The costumes are ready (or maybe the cats have already shredded them), and we’re just counting down the hours until spooky o’clock finally arrives.

But how do we pass the time until then? With cat memes, of course! Because let’s be honest—cats and Halloween are kindred spirits. They’re mysterious, dramatic, slightly chaotic, and occasionally seen sprinting across the room at invisible forces.

You don’t need ghosts when your cat already stares at walls like they’re haunted.

Stranger Things season 5 trailer leaks online hours before official Netflix release – and fans think it includes a big spoiler

**Netflix Accidentally Leaks Final Trailer for Stranger Things Season 5**

In an unexpected turn of events, Netflix has accidentally leaked the final trailer for *Stranger Things* Season 5. The two-minute teaser was uploaded overnight in error, sparking a flurry of excitement and speculation among the show’s dedicated fanbase.

With the highly anticipated final season set to premiere on November 26, Netflix had planned to officially unveil the trailer on October 30. The streaming giant even confirmed this on social media, giving fans plenty of time to prepare for the big reveal.

However, an apparent miscommunication or mistake meant the trailer went live several hours ahead of schedule. Although Netflix quickly pulled the footage offline, many sharp-eyed fans had already noticed the premature release and managed to capture screenshots and clips. Some were even able to download the entire teaser before it vanished.

As a result, social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Reddit are now flooded with discussions, screengrabs, and leaked footage from the trailer. For those who want to experience the teaser in full HD or 4K quality, it’s advised to avoid these forums until Netflix officially shares the trailer.

### Major Spoilers Ahead: The Final Scene That Has Fans Talking

There is one particular moment from the leaked trailer that has caught the fan community’s attention—and it’s causing quite a stir.

In the trailer’s closing scene, Will Byers faces off against the season’s Big Bad, Vecna. Vecna uses his telekinetic powers to hold a terrified Will aloft, ominously telling him he’s going to help “one last time” before the screen cuts to black.

This chilling moment has led many fans to speculate that Will might be in grave danger, with some fearing his death. However, it’s important to note that this scene’s exact placement within the season is still unclear.

The prevailing theory among viewers is that the footage shown comes from the first volume of Season 5, which consists of the first four episodes. If that’s accurate, this cliffhanger moment could very well be the final scene of Volume 1, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the second part.

Given Will’s critical role in the overarching story, it seems unlikely he’d be killed off so early in the season. Instead, this scene might serve as a dramatic pivot point, setting the stage for Volume 2’s events.

### What’s Next for Stranger Things Fans?

The official release of *Stranger Things* Season 5 Volume 1 is only weeks away, with the premiere scheduled for November 26. The excitement continues to build as fans count down to the return of one of Netflix’s most beloved shows.

Before the official trailer drops, it might be a good time to revisit the first trailer for Season 5 and refresh yourself on what’s to come.

Stay tuned for more updates, and be sure to follow TechRadar for the latest *Stranger Things* news!

*Note: To avoid spoilers, consider steering clear of social media until Netflix releases the official trailer.*
