26-Years-Family-Owned 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible at No Reserve

This 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible was originally sold new on August 28th, 1975, from Hartman Motor Sales of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. It remained with its original owner until 1999 when it was acquired by the current owner’s father. The vehicle was later inherited in 2014, and since then, it has undergone several updates and maintenance work to preserve its condition.

The car’s body was repainted in ivory in 2022, during which time the door handles were replaced and the front and rear bumpers were refinished. A replacement power-operated soft convertible top was installed in March 2025, ensuring the car retains its classic appeal while offering modern convenience. Additional exterior details include remote-controlled mirrors, pinstripes, bright bodyside moldings, and 15″ steel wheels with black covers wrapped in 235/75 Suretrac Power Touring white-wall tires.

Under the hood, power comes from a 500 cubic inch V8 engine featuring a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, originally factory rated at 190 net horsepower. This engine is paired with a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels. Essential maintenance includes the replacement of the radiator in 2021, front ball joints and left front hub bearing in May 2024, and a new exhaust system installed in January 2024.

The Eldorado’s suspension includes a torsion bar front setup and a coil-sprung solid rear axle, complemented by Automatic Level Control and power steering. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners, enhancing safety and performance.

Inside, the cabin features a power-adjustable front bench seat trimmed in Light Ivory-Gold Sierra Grain leather. The interior includes automatic climate control, woodgrain trim, power windows and locks, and a Bluetooth-capable head unit installed in the glove compartment for modern entertainment needs. The three-spoke steering wheel was refurbished in June 2023 and frames a classic 100-mph speedometer. While the five-digit odometer is said to have rolled over once, it currently shows approximately 5,000 miles. One minor flaw is a crack visible in the left door panel upholstery.

This 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible is now offered for sale with no reserve. It comes complete with the owner’s manual, original 1975-dated invoices, a shipping card, a 1976 newspaper article, partial service records, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name. This well-maintained and thoughtfully updated classic represents a wonderful opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
