Sarah Paulson and Kim Kardashian may play fierce rivals on screen, but off-screen, they can’t stop laughing.

While filming a heated courtroom scene for their upcoming Hulu drama *All’s Fair*, things took an unexpected turn when Paulson accidentally spat a potato chip directly into Kardashian’s eye.

“I had to say some really scandalous things in Kim’s face,” Paulson told *People* in a new digital cover story. “I did at one time spit a potato chip on her. I was in her face screaming, and it was like, ‘Bing!’ I saw it go in her eye.”

The incident broke the tension on set, leaving both stars in fits of laughter despite the scene’s intensity.

“Sarah and Kim sometimes could not look at each other without laughing,” recalled co-star Glenn Close, while Niecy Nash-Betts added, “Once the laughter started, we all knew it was going to be at least 30 minutes before we could even start.”

In *All’s Fair*, Kardashian and Paulson lead a powerhouse ensemble, including Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, and Close, as elite female divorce attorneys who strike out on their own in Los Angeles.

*All’s Fair* premieres November 4 on Hulu.

Kardashian, who also serves as executive producer, said the series centers on women lifting each other up through adversity.

“Even if you’re having a hard time or don’t believe in yourself, your girls are there to lift you up,” she said.
