Pune: Maharashtra Dy CM Eknath Shinde Slams Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif’s UNGA Remarks, Says Stay Within Limits – VIDEO

**Pune:** Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday strongly objected to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s remarks made during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), stating that the Pakistani leader should “stay within his limits.”

Speaking to ANI, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “He should stay within his limits. A jackal doesn’t become a lion by wearing a lion’s skin.”

Shinde’s statement came in response to Shehbaz Sharif’s address at the UN General Debate, where the Pakistan Prime Minister alleged that India attempted to extract “political gains” following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and further accused India of attacking “innocent civilians.”

“In May this year, my country confronted unprovoked aggression from our eastern front. The enemy came shrouded in arrogance, and we sent them back in humiliation,” Shehbaz Sharif said.

He claimed, “India sought to extract political gains from a human tragedy by spurning my sincere offer of an independent investigation into the Pahalgam incident. Instead, it attacked our cities and targeted our innocent civilians.”

Sharif justified Pakistan’s response by saying, “When our territorial integrity and national security were violated, our response was in accordance with the right of self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.”

Sharif reiterated false claims about India, asserting that Pakistan shot down Indian fighter jets—an accusation he has made previously. “Our valiant armed forces mounted an operation of stunning professionalism, repulsing the enemy’s attack. Our falcons took flight and etched their answer across the skies, resulting in seven of the Indian jets turning to scrap and dust,” he added.

However, the Pakistan Prime Minister failed to acknowledge that India’s response was a calibrated military operation targeting terror infrastructure.

India launched **Operation Sindoor** on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians. The operation specifically targeted nine terror launchpads located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), aiming at Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen facilities.

India and Pakistan reached an understanding on May 10 to end the conflict after four days of intense cross-border drone and missile strikes.

Unlike Shehbaz Sharif’s hypothetical claims, India backed up the details of these strikes with press conferences held by top military officials, who provided evidence including satellite images.

During the first press briefing on May 7, India clarified its response as focused, measured, and non-escalatory. It was specifically mentioned that Pakistani military establishments had not been targeted and it was reiterated that any attack on military targets in India would invite a suitable response.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, in multiple press briefings on May 8, 9, and 10, laid bare India’s plan of action and exposed the full extent of Pakistan’s designs.

India successfully destroyed nine major terror launchpads in Pakistan and PoJK, killing over 100 terrorists in action.

Despite repeated false claims by Pakistan, India’s position has been supported by international observers, who have acknowledged India’s right to act in self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Gangster drama | Review of Shreyas Rajagopal’s Gunboy

Fed up with the relentless beatings dished out by a local bully, an introverted boy takes extreme measures that threaten to tear apart his small town. Shreyas Rajagopal’s *Gunboy* begins on this somewhat templated note.

Our hero, Arvind, and his best friend, Sudipto, are used to being pummelled by Jaggi Ranade, who also happens to be the son of the incumbent mafia boss of the steel town of Rannwara. Luckily for us, what the book does with these familiar ingredients is both surprising at the plot level and refreshing in its treatment.

The book’s trump card is the character of Amar, the anti-hero to Arvind. While the reader roots for Arvind, they are constantly intrigued by Amar. Amar is a hitman with a fascinating personal story and a fetish for guns. An early character study chapter is basically just Amar cleaning his many guns while having a drink. It is his favourite weapon, a Beretta 9 mm with a custom grip finished in white and gold, that ends up in Arvind’s hands and transforms the novel into a tinderbox.

Rajagopal’s biggest strength is his characterisation. Both Arvind and Amar begin as archetypes, but through frequent flashbacks, we learn more about their beginnings, their motivations, and so on. The author also manages to communicate the texture of lived reality in small-town India exceptionally well.

For example, when Amar steps into a shady-looking hotel that’s most likely a hotspot for prostitution, the proprietor asks him not to bring a girl to the room because it’s not that kind of place. But as Rajagopal points out in the next line, his tenor and his eyes make it abundantly clear that it is exactly that kind of place.

In the wake of Anurag Kashyap’s iconic film *Gangs of Wasseypur*, there has been a string of Indian films and streaming shows — *Mirzapur*, *Bhaukaal*, *Garmi*, et al — that have sought to recapture the small-town gangsters formula. But very few have done it with the smarts and raw kinetic energy displayed by *Gunboy*.

If you’re looking for a fast-paced action thriller that doesn’t insult your intelligence, this is it.

*The reviewer is working on his first book of non-fiction.*

Graeme McDowell shares his thoughts on team America’s ‘reset’ at the 2025 Ryder Cup

LIV golfer Graeme McDowell recently expressed his desire to witness the ongoing Ryder Cup through a post on his social media. McDowell showed his support for the U.S. team as well as for President Donald Trump, who made an appearance at Bethpage on Day One of the biennial team event.

A seasoned Ryder Cup competitor, McDowell has represented Europe on four consecutive occasions: 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2014. He was part of the winning side in three of those tournaments, with the exception of the 37th edition in 2008.

Sharing his excitement about President Trump’s arrival at the 45th Ryder Cup, McDowell hoped that the 47th President of the United States would inspire the host team, which had a challenging start. Currently, the European team leads the tournament by four points, while Team USA has scored only two.

Looking forward to a turnaround for the American side, McDowell wrote on X:
“47 in the house. If the American team needed a reset and some inspiration, they just got it!!!! Scenes. Wish I was there. Man.”

After the completion of the first day’s Foursomes and Four-Ball matches, Team Europe maintains its lead. The U.S. team will aim to regain form over the next two days in hopes of reclaiming the title.

### McDowell’s Aspirations for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor

Graeme McDowell is well-known for his pivotal role in leading his team to victory at the 2010 Ryder Cup held at Celtic Manor in Wales. He famously sank the winning shot against Hunter Mahan during the singles matches on the final day.

Looking ahead, McDowell hopes to be selected for the European team once again after more than a decade, targeting the 46th edition of the Ryder Cup scheduled to take place at Adare Manor, Ireland, in 2027.

In a recent interview, McDowell shared a heartfelt wish to be part of that event—even if it means taking a supporting role. Recalling a conversation with fellow LIV golfer Jon Rahm, he stated:

“It goes without saying as we look towards Adare Manor in two years’ time, I would do anything to be in that European team room, to be part of that team, to put that Team Europe shirt on one more time, to have the badge on my chest, to cheer the guys on and help Europe win another Ryder Cup. I hope to be there.”

McDowell also expressed his desire to give back to Team Europe, emphasizing his commitment and passion for the event. He has been actively sharing his thoughts and updates about the 2025 Ryder Cup on his social media platforms, keeping fans engaged and excited for the future of this prestigious competition.

The Met in North Philadelphia was filled to capacity on Thursday to hear former Vice President Kamala Harris tell her story in the second stop of her book tour for *107 Days*. The discussion was moderated by Philadelphia native, basketball star, and championship coach Dawn Staley, who asked Harris questions about why she wrote the book, the importance of family, and the characteristics of a good president.

“First to remember how unprecedented those 107 days were,” Harris said. “And I would also like history to recall and to point out that it was the closest election in the 21st century, so I decided to write a book.”

The book chronicles her failed presidential campaign and offers Harris’ perspective on critical moments in the election. It also outlines her own regrets about her decisions and performance during the campaign. Harris said she wanted to make sure her voice was present when the story is told for the history books.

She also talked about a conversation she had with Angela Merkel, the former chancellor of Germany, who told Harris to never let anyone make her cry.

“It was such an important moment for me—this world leader who had been doing it for 15 years at that level, who saw something about what was happening here and offered that type of advice,” Harris said.

Harris expressed gratefulness to the men and women in her life who have offered her advice that considered the realities of being the first woman president.

Throughout the conversation, she spoke frankly about the current political situation the country is in and encouraged everyone in attendance to continue to fight to make the country better.

“I wanted to see her, I wanted to hear what she has to say since the election,” said Barbara Long, an attendee at the event. “For the time she had, I thought she did great, but I think a lot of people were disappointed. I love her and I’m still supporting her.”

Long mentioned she wanted to hear about Harris’ plans for the future. While Harris did not delve into that topic during the conversation, she did talk about how she predicted many developments during the second Trump administration—except for the capitulation from the private sector, colleges and universities, and other organizations in the country.

“I’m hoping to hear what she went through,” said Dana Boone, a Pennsylvania resident who attended the event. “I know it took a toll on her mentally, probably physically. I want to hear how she was able to get through those 107 days.”

Harris touched on some behind-the-scenes moments, specifically around election night and how she had not cried like she did that night since her mother’s death. She also talked about the toll that campaigning took on her marriage to Doug Emhoff, who was worried about the results in Pennsylvania.

Additionally, Harris said that until she started creating the book, the two had not talked about what happened on election night and how traumatic it was for them.

“There’s a certain clarity [from crying] that comes with that about seeing what’s important and what’s not,” Harris said. “Trying to understand the importance of being a leader who understands the suffering of other people and then trying to do something about it to lift them up.”

During the event, Staley asked Harris questions from the audience that touched on the importance of Gen Zers, investing in children and future generations, teaching the history of the country, and the fear around censorship.

“Instead of constantly trying to divide our nation and create fear and a sense of loneliness, part of why I wrote the book is to remind us to pay attention,” Harris said.

Bhopal News: Hi-Tech Policing; Ragging Complaints, Bank Alarms To Reach Police Top Brass Directly

**Bhopal Police Implement Hi-Tech Alert System for Faster Response**

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a significant move towards modernizing law enforcement, the Bhopal Police have introduced an advanced alert system that connects the national anti-ragging helpline and bank security alarms directly to the police commissioner’s dashboard. This initiative is aimed at ensuring immediate police response and swift action in critical situations.

In a recent incident, a distressed college student used the anti-ragging helpline late at night. Thanks to the new system, the complaint alert was instantly received by Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra. Acting swiftly on his instructions, the police intervened promptly, effectively addressing the issue. Officials confirm that similar cases involving ragging and harassment have been resolved quickly under this new mechanism.

The system has also been extended to banks across the city. Whenever a security alarm is triggered inside a bank, a direct alert flashes not only on the police commissioner’s dashboard but also on the screens of senior police officers. This real-time notification enables police teams to mobilize rapidly, often stopping criminals before a robbery can take place.

“Through this advanced connectivity system, alerts from control rooms, helplines, and alarm points go straight to senior officers. This ensures a swift police response and eliminates negligence,” said Police Commissioner Mishra. “With this technology, we have even been able to prevent suicides and thwart bank robbery attempts in the past.”

Additionally, the police are monitoring meta alerts related to suicide-related posts on social media, which help them take immediate action and save lives.

This innovative approach marks a significant step forward in enhancing public safety and demonstrates Bhopal Police’s commitment to leveraging technology for effective law enforcement.

“Need yorkers from both ends” – Irfan Pathan’s massive statement on India’s playing XI ahead of Asia Cup 2025 final

Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan has urged Team India to retain Arshdeep Singh in the playing XI for the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan. According to Pathan, the Men in Blue must be prepared for situations where they need two bowlers capable of delivering yorkers from either end during the death overs.

India secured a thrilling victory over Sri Lanka in a Super Over in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match held in Dubai on Friday, September 26. Batting first, India posted a total of 202-5, and Sri Lanka matched the score in reply. While Arshdeep was expensive in his initial four overs, he turned the game around in the Super Over by bowling impeccable yorkers and conceding only two runs. His outstanding performance ensured an easy win for India in the tiebreaker.

The left-arm pacer got his chance to play largely because a couple of regular players were rested for the game. With India having already qualified for the Asia Cup 2025 final, Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dube were both rested in the match against Sri Lanka, allowing Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana to feature.

Despite having played just two matches in the tournament so far, Irfan Pathan strongly backs Arshdeep’s inclusion in the playing XI for the final against Pakistan on Sunday, September 28. Speaking during a discussion on Sony Sports Network, the former all-rounder highlighted the importance of the 26-year-old pacer’s skills in high-pressure situations.

“First things first, he’s like ice. When the pressure is on, he asks for the ball and bowls. In the end overs, he is ready to bowl his yorkers. He bowls yorkers in tandem with Jasprit Bumrah when both play together. He is a bowler of that quality. For me, it’s nothing new. I have been saying from the first day that he should be in the playing XI,” Pathan explained.

He further added, “There are situations when you need yorkers from both ends. Today, the match went on till the very end. But, the Indian team’s thinking is that we need a long batting line-up. So, Shivam Dube is playing as an all-rounder. Since he is playing, Arshdeep is not finding a place. He will always be there in my playing XI.”

In the Super Over against Sri Lanka, Arshdeep made an immediate impact by dismissing Kusal Perera with the very first ball, having him caught at deep point. On the penultimate ball, Dasun Shanaka mistimed a full and wide delivery, sending it to deep backward point for another wicket.

A striking irony surrounds Arshdeep Singh’s current status in the team since he is India’s leading wicket-taker in T20 Internationals. The Punjab-born bowler has claimed 101 wickets in 65 matches at an impressive average of 18.76 and an economy rate of 8.37. He also has two four-wicket hauls to his name.

Hardik Pandya is the next highest Indian wicket-taker in the format with 98 wickets, followed by Yuzvendra Chahal (96), Jasprit Bumrah (94), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (90), and Kuldeep Yadav (82).

With such credentials, there is a strong case for Arshdeep Singh to be retained in the playing XI for the Asia Cup final as India prepare to take on arch-rivals Pakistan.
