Nikki Bella’s recent WWE performance blows away wrestling veteran: “It’s like she never left” (Exclusive)

Former WWE trainer and wrestling star Bill DeMott recently shared his thoughts on Nikki Bella, the WWE Hall of Famer who made a notable return to the company earlier this year.

Nikki Bella has had an illustrious career in WWE. As a multi-time Women’s Champion, she played a significant role in ushering in the Women’s Revolution. Her return to WWE came at this year’s Royal Rumble, and since then, she has made multiple appearances on weekly shows. During this time, she engaged in a memorable feud with Becky Lynch over the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Currently, Nikki is a member of the RAW roster, continuing to make an impact.

Speaking with veteran wrestling journalist Bill Apter, DeMott expressed pride in having trained stars like The Miz and Nikki Bella. He was glad to see Nikki back on television, noting that “it seemed as though she never left the company.” The veteran trainer highlighted that she was in excellent shape and still capable of mixing it up with some of the best talent on the female roster.

At 58 years old, DeMott reflected on his long association with WWE, stating, “It’s like she never left. It’s amazing. I remember the time she started, and she looked like that. It’s like nothing has changed. She looks great, great energy. I just, I never say this in public ever, but I’m really grateful for the career that WWE afforded me.”

This week on Monday Night RAW, Nikki Bella was in action against Roxanne Perez of the Judgment Day. Perez secured the victory with a Pop Rox off the turnbuckle. Following the match, Perez and Raquel Rodriguez attempted to gang up on Bella, prompting Stephanie Vaquer to rush to the ring and make the save.

“Guys, we have cancer survivors in the crowd”- Rebekah Allick opens up about Bergen Reilly’s advice that helped Nebraska Volleyball team push limits

Nebraska Volleyball Team Player Rebekah Allick Opens Up About Teammate Bergen Reilly’s Inspiring Advice

The Nebraska Cornhuskers recently showcased their dominance by winning against the Northwestern University Wildcats with a clean 3-0 sweep. In the post-match press conference, Rebekah Allick and teammate Teraya Sigler discussed the cancer awareness campaign promoted by the Nebraska Volleyball team throughout the current season.

Allick echoed Sigler’s sentiments about raising awareness for cancer survivors who were present during the match. In her words,

“Wow, well said. Um, yeah. I feel like one thing that really resonated with me was when Bergen, right before our second set, she hit the nail on the head. I felt we could’ve played better in those first two [sets], and she goes, ‘Guys, we have cancer survivors in the crowd. Let’s give them a show.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s the freaking truth.’”
[7:10 onwards]

Continuing Their Winning Streak

This victory marked the Nebraska Volleyball team’s 19th consecutive win. The Huskers are now preparing to face the Wisconsin Badgers on October 31 at the UW Field House in Madison, Wisconsin.

Insights Into Nebraska Volleyball’s Mindset

During the same press conference, Rebekah Allick shared insights about the team’s mindset and work ethic. Reflecting on advice from head coach Dani Busboom Kelly, Allick said,

“I don’t even know how to explain it. We’re just really freaking good. I’m going to say it. We’re just really freaking good. We have pushed ourselves since January. December 21st is playing in all of our heads. It has always been that John used to, and Dani like they are always thinking like ‘Every match is a National Championship’, and so when we go to practice, like we go in sixes.”

The game against Northwestern was also the 10th consecutive time the Cornhuskers didn’t lose a single set throughout a match, highlighting their consistency and dominance.

Team Morale and Practice Culture

Allick further opened up about the team morale during practice sessions, sharing,

“It feels like a Saturday Night match when we play sixes like we’re cheering on the ground, like tears are being shed. It can be really frustrating when you push yourself so hard all week and it doesn’t show for an hour and a half. It can be really frustrating as a competitor, but personally, as a senior, I couldn’t be more proud.”

Recently, the Nebraska Volleyball team also marked its 11th consecutive sweep by defeating the Michigan State Spartans at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Dodgers make final decision on Clayton Kershaw’s World Series roster status

The Los Angeles Dodgers obviously want to give legendary left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw a proper send-off after a sensational near two-decade run with the franchise. At the same time, they are extremely motivated to win their second straight World Series championship. Many fans are wondering if both goals can be accomplished, or if sentiment might clash with ambition in this specific instance.

Based on the latest news, LA believes No. 22 can help the team stay on top. Longtime manager Dave Roberts revealed that Kershaw will be on the Dodgers’ roster for their best-of-seven, season-ending showdown with the Toronto Blue Jays, according to ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez.

Following a rough relief outing versus the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 3 of the National League Division Series, it was unclear if Kershaw would receive another opportunity to take the mound before he officially retires. The Dodgers kept the 37-year-old on the active squad for the NL Championship Series, but they did not use him in their sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers.

A solid showing against the Blue Jays en route to another title would be the perfect way for Kershaw to end his final October run. But does he still have what it takes?

The 2014 MVP, three-time Cy Young Award winner, and five-time ERA king posted a respectable 2025 regular season, recording a 3.36 ERA with 84 strikeouts and a .663 OPS against in 112 2/3 innings of work. He remains a pillar of consistency for large stretches of time.

However, the playoffs have often been a source of adversity for him. Clayton Kershaw owns a 4.63 ERA in almost 200 postseason innings. That statistic will be the unfortunate “but” people mention when reflecting on an otherwise absurdly amazing MLB career.

It would be quite poetic if the future Hall of Famer and all-time great southpaw could ride off into the sunset after thriving in the Fall Classic. Fans across Los Angeles are undoubtedly hoping to witness just that as Kershaw looks to add one final championship to his illustrious resume.

Houston Rockets Injury Report: Latest update on Dorian Finney-Smith’s franchise debut for opening night (Oct. 21)

The Houston Rockets tip off their 2025-26 NBA season on Tuesday when they travel to the Paycom Center to face the defending champions, the OKC Thunder. There’s a mix of uncertainty and excitement looming over the Rockets as they head into the new season.

It’s been the biggest summer of change for Houston since 2017-18, when Chris Paul pushed for a trade from Los Angeles to team up with James Harden. This offseason, the front office has made a bold statement by signing superstar Kevin Durant in a blockbuster move, signaling serious ambition to contend for their long-awaited championship.

In addition to Durant, the Rockets have added several new players including Josh Okogie, Dorian Finney-Smith, JD Davison, and Clint Capela. Capela, in particular, is already being seen as a game-changer for Houston’s increasingly youthful roster. The team will be eager to hit the ground running, but starting the season against the reigning champions, the Thunder, presents a tough challenge.

### Houston Rockets Injury Report: Opening Night Updates

The Rockets are set to begin the campaign without one of their key starting guards, Fred VanVleet, who suffered a devastating ACL tear late in the offseason and is expected to miss the entire season. Additionally, Dorian Finney-Smith and Jae’Sean Tate are both recovering from ankle injuries and will be sidelined on opening night.

Isaiah Crawford faces a race against time to be fit but is expected to feature. The 23-year-old forward is currently listed as questionable with an ankle sprain and will be assessed before tip-off.

### What to Expect from the New-Look Houston Rockets

The revamped Rockets gave fans a glimpse of what’s to come by going unbeaten in the preseason. They dispatched the Atlanta Hawks twice, as well as the Utah Jazz and the New Orleans Pelicans, winning all four games by an average margin of 10.5 points and scoring an impressive 131.3 points per game.

With a 15-time NBA All-Star in Kevin Durant leading the charge, expectations are naturally high. While the primary goal remains winning a championship, making a deeper playoff run is equally important. Last season, Houston finished second in the regular season but suffered a disappointing first-round exit at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. This campaign, they are determined to at least advance beyond that stage.

### How to Watch Houston Rockets vs. OKC Thunder

The opening night game between the Rockets and Thunder is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Paycom Center. This game will also feature the Thunder hoisting their championship banner, adding to the excitement and atmosphere.

Adding extra intrigue, former Thunder star Kevin Durant will face off against his old team for the first time. The game will be broadcast on NBC, marking the network’s return to NBA coverage after decades.

$60,800,000 Canadiens forward takes a savage dig at Blue Jays, right as they advance to World Series with a Game 7 win over Mariners

Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky took a playful dig at the Toronto Blue Jays following their thrilling 4-3 win over the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship on Monday. This victory marks Toronto’s first World Series berth since 1993.

When asked in the post-game media interview if he’s a big baseball fan, Slafkovský credited teammate Kaiden Guhle for getting him hooked on the sport. He also made a humorous remark about the Blue Jays, referencing the team’s earlier struggles in the series. Toronto fell behind 2-0 before rallying to force and win the decisive game at Rogers Centre.

Juraj Slafkovsky said, “Guhle got me into it. I thought the Jays have booked their Cancun vacation, but looks like they’re coming back now.”

The Toronto Blue Jays’ dramatic comeback was fueled by George Springer’s three-run homer in the seventh inning, which erased a 3-1 deficit. The Blue Jays will face Shohei Ohtani’s Los Angeles Dodgers in the Fall Classic starting October 24.

### Juraj Slafkovsky Credits His Goal to Noah Dobson’s “Beautiful” Play in Canadiens’ Win

Juraj Slafkovsky scored a goal in the Montreal Canadiens’ 4-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. His goal came at 2:57 of the third period, assisted by Noah Dobson, who carried the puck around the net and passed it into the crease. Slafkovsky then shot the puck into the wide-open net, giving the Habs a 2-1 lead.

“It was a really nice play,” Slafkovsky said.

Currently signed to an eight-year, $60.8 million contract, Slafkovsky has accumulated three points through as many goals in seven games this season.

Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens improved their record to 5-2-0 and are sitting second in the Atlantic Division. They will travel to Scotiabank Saddledome to face the Calgary Flames next on Wednesday.

Christian Braun agrees to $125M, 5-year extension with Denver Nuggets

DENVER (AP) — Shooting guard Christian Braun has agreed to a $125 million, five-year contract extension with the Denver Nuggets, his agent Bill Duffy confirmed to The Associated Press. The deal was first reported by ESPN.

The 24-year-old Braun is coming off a season in which he solidified his place in the Nuggets’ starting lineup, averaging 15.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Known for his high-energy defense and hustle, Braun fits seamlessly alongside Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon.

Braun is also sporting a new look this season, debuting a buzz cut hairstyle. Standing 6-foot-6, he was selected by Denver with the 21st overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft after a collegiate career at Kansas, where he won a national title.

During his rookie season, Braun played a key role in helping the Nuggets capture their first NBA championship. He scored a career-high 30 points last April against the Indiana Pacers. In last season’s playoff run, Braun averaged 12.6 points and 6.4 rebounds, although Denver’s journey ended in a seven-game second-round loss to the eventual champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

Looking ahead, the Nuggets remain among the favorites to compete for an NBA crown this season. The team has a fresh look following the trade of Michael Porter Jr. to Brooklyn in exchange for Cam Johnson, as well as a separate deal with Sacramento to acquire big man Jonas Valanciunas.

Denver also added veterans Tim Hardaway Jr. and Bruce Brown, the latter of whom, alongside Braun, was a key contributor off the bench during the Nuggets’ 2023 title run.

Ranking every NASCAR Round of 8 driver by average finish through the 2025 playoffs before Martinsville showdown

Martinsville will serve as a do-or-die race for a myriad of NASCAR Cup Series drivers fighting to secure their place in the championship showdown in Phoenix. While Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe have already locked in their berths for the final four, the situation is far less clear for the remaining Round of 8 contenders.

With only a single round left before the cutoff, it seems increasingly likely that only one driver will advance to Phoenix on points. Recent race weekends have seen a variety of drivers take victory lane, adding to the unpredictability of the playoff battle. Let’s take a closer look at the average finishing positions of the Round of 8 drivers heading into Martinsville since the postseason began.

### NASCAR Round of 8 Drivers Ranked by Average Finishing Positions in the Playoffs

**#8 Chase Elliott**
Placing last among the Round of 8 drivers is Chase Elliott, with an average finish of 16.25. Although Elliott recently won a race at Kansas Speedway and appeared poised to mount a title challenge reminiscent of his 2020 campaign, he has managed only one top-10 finish since. Compounding his struggles, Elliott was the first driver to retire from the Talladega race and currently sits 62 points below the cutoff line. This means a win at Martinsville is his only path to the championship fight in Phoenix.

**#7 William Byron**
Another Hendrick Motorsports driver finds himself on the lower end of the average finishing ladder: William Byron, the NASCAR Regular Season champion. Despite earning bonus points for the Regular Season title, Byron is 36 points below the cutoff. His inconsistent performances throughout the playoffs—only two top-10 finishes in the last eight races—have dropped his average finish to a disappointing 16.00.

**#6 Ryan Blaney**
The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion, Ryan Blaney, holds an average finish of 15.62 during the playoffs. However, two rough race weekends in the Round of 8 have left him 47 points beneath the cutoff line. Unless Blaney can secure a victory at Martinsville, his elimination from the Round of 8 seems all but certain.

**#5 Kyle Larson**
Kyle Larson was considered a championship favorite heading into the postseason and has shown solid form in recent weeks. Holding an average finish of 13.25, including strong second-place results at the Roval and Las Vegas, Larson currently sits above the cutoff line and remains in a realistic position to advance to the final four.

**#4 Denny Hamlin**
Denny Hamlin has already clinched his spot in the final four with a victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This marked his sixth race win of the season, more than any other driver in the 2024 Cup Series so far. Despite this success, Hamlin’s average finish is only slightly better than Larson’s, standing at 12.62. This is due to some inconsistent showings—two playoff wins balanced by finishes outside the top 20 at Bristol, the Roval, and Talladega have impacted his average.

**#3 Joey Logano**
The reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion, Joey Logano, finds himself on the brink of elimination. With an average finish of 12.12—the third highest among Round of 8 drivers—Logano’s performance hasn’t translated into a strong points total. Though he has earned three top-five finishes since Darlington and a top-10 at Las Vegas, Logano currently sits 38 points below the cutoff line.

**#2 Christopher Bell**
Another Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Christopher Bell, is in the hunt for his maiden NASCAR Cup Series title this year. Bell boasts an impressive 7.5 average finish during the playoffs and holds the highest position among contenders fighting for a berth in Phoenix based on points. Since Darlington, Bell has not finished outside the top 10 and also secured a victory at Bristol, bolstering his championship aspirations.

**#1 Chase Briscoe**
Chase Briscoe emerged victorious at the fall NASCAR race in Talladega. Like Hamlin, he has won two races during the playoffs and possesses a stellar average finishing position of 5.62. These strong results have earned Briscoe a spot in the championship showdown in Phoenix, where he also currently holds the highest points total among Cup Series drivers.

As Martinsville approaches, the stakes couldn’t be higher. For many Round of 8 drivers, it’s a last shot to punch their ticket to Phoenix and keep their championship dreams alive. With victory lanes scattered among several competitors so far, this race promises intense competition and high drama as the playoff field is finalized.
