Fink & Katz PLLC: Building Trust in New York’s Toughest Cases

When people call a lawyer, it is often one of the hardest days of their lives. For nearly three decades, Fink & Katz PLLC has been on the other end of those calls. From family disputes to criminal charges, the New York City firm has built its career on guiding clients through moments that carry real consequences.

### Founded on Human Understanding and Strong Advocacy

Founded in 1997 by Philip Katz and Jonathan Fink, Fink & Katz PLLC grew from a shared belief that strong legal advocacy must be paired with human understanding. Over time, that belief became the firm’s defining trait and a key reason it remains a trusted name in New York family and criminal law.

### The Early Vision Behind Fink & Katz PLLC

Philip Katz and Jonathan Fink started their firm with a clear goal: to make a difference for people who felt overwhelmed by the legal system.

“At the beginning, we weren’t thinking about building a brand,” Katz has said. “We were focused on helping people who felt unheard and unsure of what came next.”

In the late 1990s, New York’s courts were busy and complex. Family law cases were growing more contentious, and criminal matters were becoming higher stakes. Katz and Fink saw a gap between legal process and personal impact. They believed lawyers could do better by staying present and prepared.

That early mindset shaped how the firm handled its first cases — and every case after.

### Growing Through Experience, Not Hype

As the firm took on more matters, its reputation grew through results and relationships. Fink & Katz handled child custody disputes, visitation rights, and orders of protection. They also defended clients facing criminal charges, including DWI and white collar crime.

Each case brought new lessons.

“Every matter teaches you something,” Fink once noted. “You learn not just the law, but how stress changes people and how important clarity becomes.”

Rather than chasing volume, the firm focused on depth. They prepared thoroughly. They listened carefully.

Clients often faced sensitive issues like child neglect allegations or juvenile delinquency claims. These were not abstract legal problems — they involved families, futures, and reputations. That approach helped the firm stand out in a crowded legal market.

### Leadership in Family Law and Criminal Defense

Over the years, Fink & Katz PLLC became known for handling cases that required both precision and restraint. Family law matters demanded empathy, while criminal cases required focus and strategy. The firm built systems to manage both.

“Our job is to be steady when everything feels unstable,” Katz has said. “Clients need someone who understands the law and understands pressure.”

This balance positioned the firm as a leader in its practice areas. Other attorneys took notice. Clients returned. Referrals increased. The firm’s leadership was not loud or flashy — it was consistent.

Their work reflected a belief that leadership in law comes from reliability and preparation, not from promises.

### Values That Shape Daily Decisions

Family, justice, and hard work are not slogans at Fink & Katz. They guide how cases are handled day to day.

Family law matters are approached with care for long-term outcomes, especially when children are involved. Criminal defense work is handled with respect for due process and individual rights.

“We never forget that people live with the outcome of these cases,” Fink has explained. “That responsibility stays with us.”

These values also shape how the firm communicates. Clients are kept informed. Expectations are explained clearly. Legal strategy is discussed in plain language. That clarity builds trust, which is often what clients need most.

### Adapting to a Changing Legal Landscape

The legal world has changed since 1997. Courts move faster. Public scrutiny is higher. Information spreads quickly.

Fink & Katz adapted by staying grounded in fundamentals. The firm expanded its work in areas like white collar crime while continuing to handle core family law cases. They stayed current on legal standards without losing their personal approach.

“Technology changes how cases move,” Katz has said. “But people’s fears and concerns stay the same.”

This ability to evolve without drifting helped the firm maintain relevance across decades.

### A Reputation Built Case by Case

Today, Fink & Katz PLLC is recognized for decades of experience and steady advocacy. Their online presence reflects professional credibility, with thought leadership and industry engagement that mirror their courtroom work.

Still, the firm measures success in quieter ways.

“When a client tells us they finally feel heard, that matters,” Fink has said. “That’s when you know the work means something.”

Their career as a firm has been shaped less by milestones and more by moments — one client at a time, one case at a time.

### Looking Forward with the Same Purpose

As Fink & Katz PLLC continues its work in New York, its focus remains unchanged: help clients navigate complex legal issues, protect rights, and reduce uncertainty where possible.

The firm’s longevity reflects a simple truth: in family law and criminal defense, trust is earned slowly and lost quickly. Fink & Katz built their name by respecting that reality.

Nearly thirty years after their founding, they continue to lead by example — quietly, consistently, and with purpose.

Democratic Senator Appears to Threaten Military Amid Mark Kelly Investigation: ‘There Will Be Consequences’

Gateway Pundit ^ | November 26, 2025 | Michael Schwarz, Posted on by Red Badger One wonders: Have the Democrats thought this through? Do they have an endgame? Either way, their reckless rhetoric can only lead to a dark place as it has already. Monday on CNN’s “The Arena with Kasie Hunt,” Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego of Arizona appeared to threaten “consequences” for military service members who take part in a potential court-martial of his colleague, Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona. In a clip posted to the social media platform X, host Kasie Hunt asked Gallego about his “level of trust in the U. S. military justice system,” to which the senator, with shocking brazenness, replied that service members need to remember that President Donald Trump will not be around to protect them forever. “I trust them, actually, a lot,” Gallego began. That sounded like a compliment, of course. But if you listen closely, you will hear the Democrats’ seditious anti-Trump message embedded in the senator’s response. “These are professionals,” Gallego said moments later. ‘They are also swearing to the Constitution of the United States. They know that there will be fallout and consequences if they are used in a hard way to basically railroad someone like Senator Kelly, ’cause Donald Trump’s gonna be gone in a couple years.” What a slimy way to insinuate that Trump either has or will give orders at odds with the Constitution. WATCH: Speaker Johnson Exposes How Schumer Just Got Some Really, Really Bad News from CNN

American Tribune ^ | November 01, 2025 | Adam Stanton

**Speaker Mike Johnson Blasts Democrats Over 29-Day Government Shutdown**

With an epic rhetorical flourish, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) slammed the Democrats for the ongoing 29-day government shutdown, calling out their rejection of 14 clean continuing resolutions (CRs) that would fund essential services including the troops, SNAP, WIC, TSA, air traffic controllers, and nuclear defense workers.

Johnson highlighted a recent poll revealing that over 70% of the public feels Democrats are out of touch. He also pointed out that major unions, such as the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) and the Teamsters, are urging Democrats to reopen the government.

The Speaker referred to the SNAP-only lawsuit as a “scam” aimed at prolonging pain for political leverage against the “far left.”

Starting his comments, Speaker Johnson said, “Day 29 of the Democrats’ shutdown, and things are getting really tough for the American people.” He underscored the immediate impact, noting that “more air traffic controllers, TSA agents, and park rangers are about to go without a paycheck.”

Continuing his criticism, Johnson described the consequences of the Democrats’ actions as selfish. “You’ve got families and children who rely upon SNAP benefits that are going to go hungry here at the end of the week. The Democrats own every one of these consequences,” he declared.

Johnson emphasized how ordinary Americans have been turned into political pawns, stating, “Every day, they turn their backs on more and more hard-working American families to prolong their pain. They’ve now voted 14 times between the House and Senate to reject the clean, simple funding bill that would simply reopen the government. Fourteen times they have thumbed their nose at the American people.”

He referenced a CNN poll showing that Republican popularity is rising as Democrats falter, adding, “Democrats are openly admitting that this is their shutdown. The approval of Republicans in Congress is rising. Democrats in Congress have the lowest approval rating they have ever had. You need 218 votes. That’s exactly what we did on September 19.”

Johnson reiterated, “The Democrats are the only reason that the government is closed. They’re using the pain of the American people as their leverage.”

The Speaker further noted bipartisan pressure for reopening the government. “The largest union of federal workers, the American Federation of Government Employees, publicly urged Democrats to join Republicans and pass the House’s short-term funding bill.”

He continued, “A strong America requires a functioning government, one that pays its bills. The National Association of Air Traffic Controllers, the Coalition of Airline Pilots Associations, and the leader of the Teamsters—all called on Senate Democrats to end this shameful shutdown.”

Wrapping up, Johnson stated, “Senate Democrats knew the pain this would cause. They did not care. They shut the government down anyway to appease the far left. On Saturday, SNAP benefits will stop flowing, and tens of millions of Americans will be at risk of going hungry.”

Concluding his remarks, the Speaker criticized legal efforts to maintain SNAP benefits despite the shutdown. “Democrat attorneys general are suing to try to compel SNAP benefits despite the government being closed. There’s a much easier option. Just go do your job and fully fund all these programs by voting for the CR.”
