Clinton Judge Dismisses Federal Indictments Against Comey and James

Declassified with Julie Kelly ^ | 24 Nov, 2025 | Julie Kelly Posted on by MtnClimber A pair of hasty, snarky opinions by Judge Cameron Currie once again illustrate an out-of-control judiciary increasingly seizing executive authority to sabotage the will of the people. Judge Cameron McGowan Currie in what is probably an old photo Describing acting U. S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan as “a former White House aide with no prior prosecutorial experience,” Judge Cameron McGowan Currie today dropped the criminal cases against New York Attorney General Leticia James and former FBI Director James Comey pending in the Eastern District of Virginia. “I agree with Ms. James that the Attorney General’s attempt to install Ms. Halligan as Interim U. S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was invalid,” Currie wrote. “And because Ms. Halligan had no lawful authority to present the indictment, I will grant Ms. James’s motion and dismiss the indictment without prejudice.” Currie wrote the same passage in her order dismissing the charges against Comey. Currie, 77, was appointed to the federal bench by Bill Clinton in 1994. Last month, the chief judge of the Fourth Circuit tasked Currie, who is based in South Carolina, with handling Comey’s disqualification motion. Chief Judge Albert Diaz said in an October 21 order that the transfer was necessary for the “limited purposes in the interest of maintaining public confidence in the impartial administration of justice.” A similar motion by Leticia James also landed on Currie’s docket. Both orders are here and here. In stark contrast to Judge Aileen Cannon’s five-month deliberations as to the lawfulness of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s appointment-Donald Trump’s lawyer filed a motion to dismiss the documents case based on Smith’s unconstitutional appointment in February 2024 and Cannon agreed with Trump in the matter and dismissed the documents indictment in July 2024-Currie took less than a month to kick Halligan off both cases. He thanked his defense attorneys and DOJ prosecutors who had refused to bring any charges against him, resulting in a purge of the office. Comey forgot to mention that the father of Erik Siebert, the ex-interim U. S. Attorney removed for refusing to indict the former FBI director for making false statements and obstructing Congress, is godfather to one of Comey’s children. Hopefully his preening won’t last long. Even if he skates on these charges, Comey appears to be a target of the DOJ’s “grand conspiracy” investigation into the perpetrators of Russiagate and decade-long lawfare against the president. Ex-US attorneys say Lindsey Halligan’s disqualification puts entire office ‘in jeopardy’

On Monday, a judge ruled that acting U. S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan was improperly appointed, and subsequently dismissed her indictments of former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James (D). Former federal prosecutors are now saying that the judge’s ruling may have thrown all of her office’s work into question. During a Monday segment on CNN, former U. S. attorneys Harry Litman who led the Department of Justice’s (DOJ, or Main Justice) operations in the Western District of Pennsylvania under former President Bill Clinton’s tenure and Greg Brower, who handled cases in the District of Nevada during the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations, both agreed that anything bearing Halligan’s name is likely now damaged goods. “Her future was already pretty well sealed . with a series of blunders and pratfalls, including misconduct in the grand jury,” Litman said of Halligan. “There seemed to have been some serious mistakes. Brower piled on, telling CNN host Erica Hill that prosecutors who worked under Halligan have stopped all new case filings due to the chaos within the Eastern District of Virginia that was touched off after her disqualification. He pointed to similar examples of this happening to other improperly appointed prosecutors that President Donald Trump nominated, like Alina Habba in the District of New Jersey., and said that the chaos is likely to continue of the Trump administration follows through on its promise to appeal Halligan’s disqualification. “For an acting U. S. attorney who’s been deemed unlawfully appointed to be continuing to act raises all kinds of issues that put very real, very important cases in jeopardy simply because they may have her name on it,” Brower said. “So this really this puts the U. S. attorney’s offices around the country that are in similar positions and Main Justice in a real tough spot in terms of having to figure out now, how do they go forward and prosecute cases? . It’s a very real problem for the DOJ right now.” Litman added to Brower’s point, observing that the administration standing by Halligan “short-circuits any sorts of considerations that anybody in prudence would make. While that appeal goes forward . Everything’s in jeopardy in that office so long as Halligan still remains the acting U. S. attorney,” Litman said. “And when the Court of Appeals rules, it could be a total . overhaul of everything that’s been done to date.” Watch the segment below:.

4 Possible finishes for Becky Lynch vs. Maxxine Durpi on WWE RAW from Madison Square Garden

Becky Lynch looks to put Maxxine Dupri in her rearview mirror when WWE RAW emanates from Madison Square Garden in New York. Dupri defeated The Man in their previous two meetings, grabbing victories by both countout and disqualification. Those losses caused Lynch to lash out, leading to the rubber match this week.

While the Alpha Babe has proven she can hang with the top stars in WWE, winning a singles title is another tall task. The next four finishes are possible when Becky Lynch defends the Women’s Intercontinental title against Maxxine Dupri on RAW.

### #4. Becky Lynch squashes Maxxine Dupri on RAW

While Dupri has shown she is worthy of competing with the top stars in WWE, she’s still not considered one of the top performers in the division. Her improvement is evident, but as most wrestlers love to claim, “There are levels to this.” Lynch is on another level than Dupri, and bookers could opt to have her run through her opponent on RAW.

It would end the feud and possibly open up her next storyline if someone saves Dupri from a post-match beatdown. Jade Cargill squashed B-Fab on SmackDown, so the same could play out on RAW.

### #3. Maxxine Dupri upsets Becky Lynch

Though highly unlikely, Maxxine Dupri could leave Madison Square Garden as the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion. She’s pushed Lynch to her limit twice, so that effort could pay off with a shocking victory over one of WWE’s top stars.

Such a result could force The Man to take some time off and come back with a more unhinged persona. Traditionally, Lynch has been an arrogant and delusional heel, but she can pull off almost any character, much like Alexa Bliss.

Portraying a darker character could eventually lead to another face turn in 2026. Dupri could then get a significant bump before dropping the title to a heel. Issues with referee Jessika Carr could also work in Dupri’s favor.

### #2. Becky Lynch cheats to win

Lynch hasn’t been afraid to bend the rules in the past, including in matches against Dupri and Lyra Valkyria. The problem has been that referees caught her in the act during her recent bouts with Dupri.

This time, things could change with Big Time Becks waiting for the referee to turn her back to cheat. She’ll do anything to keep the title, so blasting Dupri with the belt wouldn’t come as a shock.

This finish would also slightly protect the progress Dupri has made in the ring, maintaining her credibility despite the loss.

### #1. Lynch wins clean

This third match should be the final showdown between the two rivals. The most sensible finish would be for Lynch to definitively defeat the upstart Maxxine Dupri.

A clean victory would force others to recognize that Lynch doesn’t need to cheat to win. Dupri has displayed her resiliency, so The Man should be ready to pull out some new tricks in their third showdown.

While Dupri may have honed her craft over the last two years, Lynch has been working at it for 15 to 20 years. Experience counts for a lot, making a clean, definitive victory for Lynch on RAW a strong possibility.

As the tension builds heading into Madison Square Garden, WWE fans can expect an intense and potentially career-defining match for both Becky Lynch and Maxxine Dupri. Which finish will the WWE Universe witness? Stay tuned to RAW to find out!

2 protesters shot dead as tensions rise in Cameroon ahead of election results, opposition says

At least two protesters were shot dead by security forces in Cameroon as opposition supporters rallied to demand credible results in the country’s recent presidential election, the opposition said Sunday.

Hundreds stormed the streets in different cities following days of unrest and in response to protest calls by opposition candidate Issa Tchiroma Bakary, who claims he defeated President Paul Biya in the Oct. 12 election. Tchiroma and his supporters accuse authorities of trying to rig the vote.

Cameroon’s top court, the Constitutional Council, is expected to announce the final election results Monday.

Two protesters were shot dead in the economic hub of Douala on Sunday during unrest as security forces clashed with opposition supporters, according to the African Movement for New Independence and Democracy party. The Associated Press could not independently verify the reports of the deaths, which were also reported by local media. Authorities did not immediately comment on the issue.

Videos online showed protesters clashing with security forces, who fired tear gas and tried to disperse demonstrators barricading major roads in Douala and other cities, including Garoua and Maroua in the north.

Dozens of opposition supporters, activists, and leaders have already been arrested in recent days as protests continued. Cameroon’s Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, told reporters Saturday that the government arrested several people suspected of plotting violent attacks.

One protester, Oumarou Bouba, a 27-year-old trader in the northern city of Maroua, said, “I am ready to stake my life to defend my vote. I voted for Tchiroma because I want change.”

Cameroon, a country of nearly 30 million people, has seen growing tensions since the buildup to the election in which Biya sought reelection. The decision by the 92-year-old Biya—the world’s oldest leader and among the longest-serving, having been in power nearly half his life—to seek another term angered the country’s youth and the opposition.

The opposition has accused Biya of having a hand in the disqualification of his strongest rival and of using state machinery to manipulate the election in his favor.
