Mr. BIG looks set to drum on the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves roster’s noggins

**Mr. BIG: A Formidable Finale to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ First Year of DLC**

Mr. BIG serves as an intriguing bookend to the first year of DLC for *Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves*. As the original boss from *Art of Fighting*, Mr. BIG has been a longtime menace in South Town, serving as one of Geese Howard’s chief henchmen for decades. Though his appearances in *The King of Fighters* series have been rare, his presence remains impactful.

In *City of the Wolves*, Mr. BIG shows signs of age and wisdom but still packs a mean streak, especially with his signature Eskrima sticks. Boasting a well-rounded and versatile move set, he promises to be just as formidable as ever. I had the chance to preview him and experienced firsthand just how dangerous he can be.

### BIG Style, BIG Moves

While Mr. BIG might not have the traditional privileges of an SNK boss character in *City of the Wolves*, his capabilities give plenty to be excited about. His Eskrima sticks provide reach that many other characters simply don’t have. Additionally, he features normals that advance as he backs up, alongside a satisfying jab string that can keep opponents on their toes while you strategize your next attack.

He retains much of the moveset from previous games, with a few fresh twists. His ground projectile, forward diving attack, and rapid strikes remain intact. Added to these are a solid uppercut, a command throw, and a parry special—enhancing his threat level and combat variety.

My personal favorite move is his far Heavy Punch. Mr. BIG lunges forward with a strike and can follow up with a second Heavy Punch that combos into other attacks. This move is fantastic for baiting opponents and punishing their attempts to counter. It can lead to significant damage finishes with a REV Blow, super move, or even his Hidden Gear technique.

What’s surprising is that despite having a move for nearly every situation, Mr. BIG still maintains impressive range.

### Strengths and Weaknesses

That said, there are a few notable drawbacks to Mr. BIG’s arsenal. For starters, he lacks any kicking attacks. While this means he misses out on the range other characters gain from their legs, he compensates with some of the best punching pokes and combo potential in *City of the Wolves*.

Another challenge lies in combo execution. It can be tricky to connect jump attacks into ground attacks due to a particularly tight link window—even compared to characters known for difficult jump strings. His jumping cross-up is also somewhat flimsy; you must land almost directly on your opponent for it to succeed. Attempting a cross-up improperly can result in whiffing and leaving yourself open to heavy punishment.

I also found his close Heavy Kick underwhelming. Though it hits multiple times, it didn’t open up follow-up opportunities, resulting in just quick damage where more versatile options might have delivered better results.

### Making Way for the BIG Guy

Mr. BIG undoubtedly capped off the first year of *Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves* DLC in a truly “big” way. This iteration feels like one of the best versions of the character I have played, loaded with nasty tools to pressure and punish opponents.

Whether you prefer to control the screen with his tricky projectile game, bait foes in with his heavy punches, overwhelm them with rapid strikes, or apply relentless pressure with his command throw and supers, Mr. BIG offers a robust and rewarding playstyle.

He has the potential to rival Billy Kane in terms of how imposing and annoying he can be. We’ll soon find out how he fares as he enters public matchmaking. One thing is certain: Mr. BIG rounds out *City of the Wolves*’ first season of character DLC in style.

*These impressions are based on an early preview of the game using a pre-release version of the character. Mr. BIG will be available on all platforms as part of the paid Season Pass 1 DLC series for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.*

Squid Game US series from Fight Club director David Fincher looks to still be happening at Netflix, with potential plot and filming details unveiled

After months of silence, it looks like David Fincher’s US Squid Game series is still going ahead at Netflix, and cameras are set to start rolling very soon. The upcoming series has been listed on the Film and Television Industry Alliance website, titled Squid Game: America. According to the site, the show is set to start filming on February 26, 2026, in Los Angeles, California. Original Squid Game producer Kim Ji-yeon and director Hwang Dong-hyuk are listed as producers on Squid Game: America, alongside David Fincher, Zeus Zamani, and Rhett Giles. Dennis Kelly is down to pen the script. Cate Blanchett is the only cast member listed at this time. The listing also features a new project description, which reads, “A US version of the Korean hit series, the spinoff is set in the same world but we get to see how the games are handled in America.” This is not a huge surprise, as we knew the series would be set in the same world as the original series, but in America. But it’s interesting that the games will still be played after what happened at the end of Squid Game season 3. The original Squid Game series ended with main character Gi-hun sacrificing himself so that Player 222’s baby could win. Afterwards, Front Man escapes with the baby before blowing up the island where the games are held. However, the finale then skips forward several months. Front Man is driving through LA when he spots a recruiter played by Blanchett in an alleyway, playing ddakji with another person. The recruiter and Front Man share a look, and the series comes to a close there. The divisive ending left viewers feeling confused. However, there is no doubt that it set up the spin-off. But it is not clear whether the American version will fully mimic the original series. Are we going to watch another round of games play out until one person dismantles the twisted system? With Squid Game being the most popular TV show ever on Netflix, it is clear why the streamer would want to build on the franchise. We just hope the spin-off switches things up a bit. As for Fincher, the Gone Girl and Fight Club director was linked to the project in 2024, with the filmmaker rumored to direct the series. No other cast members have been announced at this time. Although with Front Man in LA at the end of Squid Game season 3, we wonder if Lee Byung-hun will appear in the new show.

Insider Reveals Why Giants Didn’t Fire Joe Schoen When Team Fired Brian Daboll

With the decision to fire head coach Brian Daboll, many have questioned why the New York Giants didn’t move on from a few other faces within the organization. At the top of that list are defensive coordinator Shane Bowen and general manager Joe Schoen.

Schoen hasn’t necessarily done the worst job for the Giants, which has been evident when the team is healthy—primarily due to some of the young talent they’ve landed through the draft. Still, the Giants haven’t won games at the level the organization desires, and general managers often bear the brunt of that blame.

As things currently stand, it’s almost guaranteed that Schoen will have until the end of the season to prove his worth. Beyond that, his future remains uncertain. However, many feel it might have been better to let him go alongside Daboll rather than giving him the entire year—especially if the Giants don’t plan to bring him back next season.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, when asked about Schoen’s return next year, the prevailing sentiment around the NFL is that he will remain with the Giants for the remainder of the season, mainly because of the talent he has brought in.

“The Giants have already said in their statement announcing the firing that Schoen will remain the general manager and head their coaching search. That indicates that he’s part of their plans moving forward,” Raanan noted.

There is a belief that Schoen has assembled a promising core of young talent, but that group hasn’t been developed or utilized properly. The feeling around the league is that Schoen is likely to survive a third straight difficult season because he still has the trust and attention of ownership.

It’s not unfair to suggest that Schoen hasn’t done a great job overall. However, some of the blame may not rest entirely on him, given the Giants’ ongoing injury issues.

Of course, fans might argue that every NFL team deals with injuries. Yet, the Giants’ top offensive players have truly been derailed by them this season, significantly impacting the team’s performance.

Nebraska Women’s Basketball Dominates Samford 80-46

Nebraska seemed to pick up right where they left off last game, but instead of Claire Johnson and Britt Prince, it was Jessica Petrie and Britt Prince leading the charge. That’s the great thing about this team and the depth they have—it can be anyone’s night. You know Prince is going to get her points, but who will be the one to step up as well? It will be interesting to see this year, especially when everyone is back from injuries.

Starting lineups were the same as the last game with Prince, Callin Hake, Hailey Weaver, Petra Bozan, and Petrie. Logan Nissley was also in street clothes, though the reason for this was unclear. If anyone has information, feel free to share in the comments.

### First Quarter

Nebraska started out strong on defense. The Huskers took the ball down the court, and Petra Bozan knocked down a three-pointer assisted by Hailey Weaver. Weaver then drove to the hoop for a bucket, followed by a block on the defensive end—a solid series for her so far.

Britt Prince got a two-point basket, and immediately after, Jessica Petrie had a chance at a three-point play but missed the free throw, putting Nebraska up 9-0.

Claire Johnson, the Samford transfer, checked into the game for the first time. Petrie quickly accumulated six points, prompting Samford to call a timeout with 5:39 left in the first quarter, Nebraska leading 13-0.

Samford came out of the timeout and drained a three, but Petrie responded with one of her own and was perfect from the floor, up to 9 points on 4-for-4 shooting.

Defensively, Callin Hake was doing what she does best—getting a steal and assisting Amiah Hargrove on a basket to extend Nebraska’s lead to 18-3. The Huskers forced their second shot clock violation of the night; the defense looked as strong as advertised.

However, Nebraska then went on a familiar scoring drought of nearly three minutes. During this stretch, Callin Hake took a charge—something Nebraska fans know all too well.

Kennadi Williams was fouled and went to the free-throw line, splitting the pair. After a Samford turnover, Bozan hit a baseline fadeaway jumper to end the quarter with Nebraska leading 21-5.

### Second Quarter

Britt Prince started the second quarter with a tough floater, immediately followed by a steal and score. Nebraska had already forced Samford into 13 turnovers with seven minutes remaining in the first half.

Jessica Petrie was hustling all over the court, not only tallying 11 points but also saving the ball from going out of bounds leading to a Prince bucket, pushing the lead to 29-5.

The game was being played at a fast pace. Petrie continued to dominate, putting Nebraska up by 23 points with 4:43 left before a Samford timeout.

Claire Johnson, who scored 21 points in the last game, remained scoreless so far tonight.

Samford made a small run with free throws and a three-pointer, but Hargrove, Petrie, and Bozan kept the game well out of reach.

An official review determined Nebraska had last touched the ball. Hailey Weaver made two free throws to push the Huskers’ lead to 40-23. If I had a nickel for every time Britt Prince hit a buzzer-beater, I’d be rich by now.

The first half ended with Nebraska leading Samford 42-25.

### Halftime Stats

– **Jessica Petrie:** 15 points, 4 rebounds
– **Britt Prince:** 10 points, 2 assists
– **Petra Bozan:** 7 points
– **Callin Hake:** 5 assists

Nebraska was shooting 58% from the field but only 17% from three-point range. Samford was shooting 41% overall, including 33% from beyond the arc. The Huskers led the rebounding battle 16-13.

Samford had committed 15 turnovers compared to Nebraska’s 7. Nebraska had assisted on 13 of their shots.

### Third Quarter

Nebraska gave up an early basket, but Bozan responded with a put-back two. Jessica Petrie continued her breakout performance, up to 20 points after hitting an and-1 play, pushing the lead to 49-27.

Callin Hake scored her first points on a pair of free throws. Prince and Hake then hit back-to-back three-pointers, extending the lead to 57-30.

Kennadi Williams was called for a questionable foul, sending Samford to the line with one of two free throws made. After a Samford blocking call, Williams assisted Prince, who hit a wide-open three-pointer (61-34).

A media timeout was taken with four minutes left in the third. Amiah Hargrove was set to shoot three free throws after the break.

The remainder of the quarter was quiet, with only one field goal coming from another Prince three-pointer. Nebraska struggled with turnovers late in the quarter but held a commanding 66-36 lead heading into the final period.

### Fourth Quarter

Britt Prince began heating up, slicing through the defense for a layup to bring her total to 21 points. Samford hit back-to-back threes but trailed 70-46.

At this stage, Prince seemed unstoppable against the Bulldog defense. Hargrove’s steal and layup prompted Samford to take a timeout with 5:25 remaining.

Jessica Petrie got a block leading to an Amiah Hargrove layup. After another Samford turnover, Nebraska took a media timeout with 4:21 left.

Bozan made a layup, Hargrove sank a jumper, and Bozan added a steal as Nebraska went on a 10-0 run over the last six minutes—although they had been on a lengthy 3:39 scoring drought prior.

Hargrove delivered a big block, and with not much action left, Kennadi Williams dribbled out the clock as Nebraska cruised to an 80-46 victory.

### Postgame Stats

– **Britt Prince:** 23 points (10/13 FG)
– **Jessica Petrie:** 20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists
– **Petra Bozan:** 13 points, 6 rebounds
– **Amiah Hargrove:** 12 points, 11 rebounds
– **Callin Hake:** 7 assists
– **Kennadi Williams:** 5 assists

Nebraska shot 51% from the field, including 26% from three-point range, compared to Samford’s 33% shooting overall and 30% from distance.

The Huskers recorded 17 steals and 22 assists, won the rebounding battle 37-31, and committed 14 turnovers compared to Samford’s 27.

### Looking Ahead

Nebraska’s next game will be against the Creighton Bluejays. The in-state rivals will meet at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Wednesday, November 12th, with tip-off set for 8:00 PM.

Stay tuned for more exciting Husker basketball this season!

‘Smells fishy’: Analyst stunned by House GOP’s reluctance to swear in new representative

A professor of international politics was stunned during an interview on Thursday to reveal that Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has still not sworn in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva of Arizona, more than a month after her election.

Grijalva, a Democrat, won a special election last month to replace her late father. Since then, she has pledged to support a discharge petition aimed at forcing a discussion about the release of Epstein files. Some experts suggest this stance is the main reason she has yet to be sworn in.

Scott Lucas, who teaches international politics at the Clinton Institute at University College Dublin, discussed Grijalva’s situation in a new interview for “The Trump Effect” podcast.

“They’re just trying to avoid the reckoning,” Lucas said. “The fact here is I don’t think you’re going to shift Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and that handful of Republicans. It just smells fishy,” he added. “It smells fishy that they will not even allow a discussion on this.”

Lucas also noted that the ongoing situation with Prince Andrew in the UK adds an interesting wrinkle to the case.

Crusader Kings 3 devs on All Under Heaven expansion & improving the base game

Crusader Kings 3 has continued to receive plenty of interesting content since Paradox Interactive released it in 2020. The newest addition is a major expansion that opens the map to most of Asia, introducing Chinese, Japanese, and Southeast Asian content to its grand strategy gameplay.

Four years in, Paradox remains dedicated to delivering more for fans, who keep wanting fresh experiences with Crusader Kings 3 and its many expansions. I had the opportunity to talk with QA Manager Riad Deneche and Producer Lucia Dzediti about how the game has evolved and how the team works to keep the base game exciting, even as it continues to grow.

“All Under Heaven” has been highly anticipated. Until now, the Asian continent had been on the periphery of Crusader Kings 3 campaigns, with features like The Silk Road economic storyline only giving a glimpse into the region’s history. This new expansion finally answers the constant requests from players to include Asian politics and rulers, delivering a wealth of famous leaders spread across China and the broader Asian continent.

Paradox is proud to finally fulfill this fan request. The development team committed to extensive research to ensure the storylines of Far Eastern leaders were portrayed accurately and respectfully. According to the team, the historical research and its implementation were among the most enjoyable parts of the process.

Importantly, All Under Heaven also offers plenty for those who prefer to focus on Western civilizations. The Silk Road storylines have been expanded, with even more content added to ensure the stories and politics of All Under Heaven can influence Western campaigns as well.

With this expansion, Crusader Kings 3 continues to deepen its gameplay and narrative, ensuring that both new and experienced players have exciting new realms and possibilities to explore.

As Bad As You Think Mike Pence Is, He’s Worse

As I listened to this clip of Chief Steven A. Sund talking with the Lindell TV reporter, I thought about how General Flynn’s fate rested on everyone’s belief that Mike Pence was the arbiter of truth. When Pence said General Flynn lied, he was believed. Now, Pence pops up again as the person who sold out Chief Sund, who became Pelosi’s fall guy on January 6.

Pelosi claimed Sund never called her, and Mike Pence didn’t contradict her. He let Sund take the rap. It’s a lie by omission, and he sold out the Chief.

**Why did Pelosi think Sund lied to Pence? What did Pence say?**

As bad as we know Pence is, he’s worse than you think. It’s obvious Pelosi set everyone up on January 6, and she didn’t care who got hurt. Neither did Mike Pence.

### Sund’s Interview

Nancy Pelosi had asked former Capitol Hill Police Chief Steven Sund why he “lied to Vice President Pence,” and why he “gave him [Pence] false information.”

The reporter asked Mr. Sund, “Let’s talk about after the fact, following January 6, you were ultimately forced to resign. What happened there? How did that unfold?”

Sund replied:

> “So I’m up all night. I don’t think I slept for about 38 hours. We’re briefing members of Congress very next day about, you know, what our plan is for the Capitol. We got them back into session.
>
> “It’s interesting because, you know, I kept getting a call from Vice President Pence asking me to come over to a secure location. I can’t [Sund said] can’t leave, right at the command center right now. So finally, at about five o’clock, we started getting things under control. Both were briefed.
>
> “About 5:15, I went ahead and said, ‘I’m going to go ahead and go over and brief him,’ notified the two Sergeant-at-Arms. I go over and brief him, and he gets Pelosi on the phone, because my information tells me we can get them back in the session at 7 pm, 7:30 at the latest. He gets big Speaker Pelosi on the phone, sets it right on LED screens, like right between us.”
>
> “He briefed them and they decide, okay, great, she’s gonna brief the leadership. I’m walking out of that meeting, and I’m walking back through a tunnel, and I run into Mike Stinger. He’s walking over to brief the Senate. Asked me, will you come brief the center with me? I said, not a problem. He’s my boss.
>
> “Someone hands up a phone, and it’s Speaker Pelosi, and she is mad as can be. She is chewing me out about why I lied to Vice President Pence, why give them false information? They’re being told they can’t get into session for at least 24 hours.”
>
> “I said, ‘No, ma’am, my information is correct.’ That’s the second time I talked to her and she hangs up the phone.
>
> “So I walk over to the Senate. They end up getting me back on another conference call to brief all of leadership before we go in and brief the Senate, never did brief the Senate, actually had to leave to come back to the command center.
>
> “So there’s three times I talked to Speaker Pelosi. The next day, we’re briefing members of Congress. We’re trying to set a meeting with Speaker Pelosi’s office to do a brief there.”
>
> “At 4 o’clock in the afternoon, I’m briefing Senator Blount, I’m in a conference room, and I see my Chief of Staff step out. She steps back in, and she says, ‘You need to step outside. I gotta talk to you real quick.’
>
> “And she notifies me that Speaker Pelosi is getting ready to go on national TV and call for my resignation; I had just enough time to notify my wife.
>
> “I wasn’t gonna go and watch the news press conference; kind of expected what was coming, but my chief of staff and my general counsel said, ‘Now let’s go and watch it. Watch it.’
>
> “Twenty-three minutes into the press conference, someone asks about the security failures. And she blatantly comes out and says it was a failure of leadership at the top of Capitol Police, calls for my resignation. Says it was a failure on my part, and then says, ‘Besides, he’s never even called me since this occurred.’ I’d talked to her three times, you know.”

This interview sheds new light on how Chief Sund was scapegoated after January 6. Pelosi’s accusations and Pence’s silence allowed Sund to take the full blame for the security failures—despite the evidence that contradicts their claims.

The truth is out there: the leadership during January 6 was more concerned with political damage control than actual accountability.
