Rush extends 2026 tour again, adds Philadelphia show. Get tickets now

Rush Is in No Rush to Stop Rockin’

The Canadian shredders Rush have just announced a second extension of their 2026 ‘Fifty Something Tour,’ marking the group’s first official nationwide outing since 2015. This time around, Geddy Lee and company have added 17 cities to their U.S. and Canada run. They’ll now play 40 concerts from June through December.

While no new Big Apple gigs were added, the Rock Hall of Famers will perform at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, July 28; Thursday, July 30; Saturday, August 1; and Monday, August 3. They also penciled in a few nearby locales, including Philadelphia’s Xfinity Mobile Arena on August 21, Boston’s TD Garden on September 12, Washington, D.C.’s Capital One Arena on October 25, and Uncasville, Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena on October 30.

These concerts come in the wake of the untimely passing of beloved drummer Neil Peart, who died in January 2020. Filling in for Peart is the accomplished German drummer Anika Nilles. The 42-year-old made waves with her viral YouTube videos in the early 2010s and has since built a name for herself touring with Jeff Beck.

Additional artists may join the group on the trek, allowing Lee and Alex Lifeson to “expand [their] sound a wee bit [to] free [themselves] up in order to show off some of [their] new fancy dance steps,” the frontman quipped.

Lee and Lifeson also took to Instagram to share that they’ll “[play] two sets each night. Each show will feature a distinct selection of songs, and RUSH will build each night’s setlist from a catalog of 35 songs including their greatest hits and fan favorites.”

Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming Rush shows on secondary market platforms like Vivid Seats. The official on-sale for newly added ‘Fifty Something Tour’ dates begins Friday, October 31. Please note that Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, so prices may be higher or lower than face value depending on demand. They offer a 100% buyer guarantee, ensuring your transaction will be safe and secure and that tickets will be delivered before the event.

About This Tour

Geddy Lee released a heartfelt statement regarding the upcoming tour:

“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of RUSH alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil. A lifetime’s worth of songs that we had put our cumulative hearts and souls into writing, recording and playing together onstage.

And so, after all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we f-ing miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of RUSH music.

So in 2026 my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of RUSH songs in a handful of cities.

No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable.”

Geddy Lee Memoir

In 2023, Lee embarked on a fall tour in support of his memoir, *My Effin’ Life*. Reflecting on the project, he shared:

“I’ve never lived my life looking anywhere but forward, which is why I resisted doing this kind of thing for so long. But you need a lot more determination to proceed in the world of music without the comfort of your bandmates, and I can only hope that finishing this book will release me to return to what I do and love best.”

If you’d like to read his humorous and heartfelt look back at a life well-lived, you can find *My Effin’ Life* [here].

About Anika Nilles

Anika Nilles, 42, hails from Aschaffenburg, Germany, and began drumming at six years old. Her first original compositions, “Wild Boy” (2013) and “Alter Ego” (2014), led to a tour, a debut album, and a 2022 European run alongside Jeff Beck.

To get a taste of her jazzy, refined yet explosive sound, explore her lively discography [here].

Here’s what Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson shared about Nilles joining the tour:

“We are thrilled to support the ‘Fifty Something’ tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated and inspired fans for generations, and to honor Neil’s extraordinary legacy as both a drummer and lyricist.

Neil’s musicianship was singular — compositions of intricacy and power that expanded what rhythm itself could express.

As both drummer and lyricist, he was irreplaceable. Inimitable in his artistry, and unmatched in the depth and imagination he brought to the lyrics that inspired and moved so many, he profoundly shaped how fans connected with him and the band, giving voice and meaning to their own lives.

As the band enters this new chapter, it promises to be truly unforgettable. We are excited to see how their new vision unfolds, and to hear this legendary music played live once again.”

Eagles’ Saquon Barkley ‘owns’ inconsistency in running game

As the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, they snapped a two-game losing streak that had seen the team regress. One of the highlights of the game was the Eagles’ passing attack, which showed strong production throughout.

Despite the team’s bounce-back performance, it was another lackluster outing for Saquon Barkley and the running game. Barkley rushed for just 44 yards on 18 carries, averaging 2.4 yards per attempt. This marks the continued struggle for the star running back, who is still searching for his first 100-yard game after an impressive 2,000-yard season last year.

After the game, Barkley took accountability for the running game’s ineffectiveness, according to Zach Berman. “I need to do a better job of not taking negative runs. I keep saying that—I know I sound like a broken record—but it’s something I got to do. I own it. But at the end of the day, we won the football game,” Barkley said.

While Barkley works to improve his own performance, Philadelphia’s aerial attack was notably productive. Quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns, leading to standout performances from receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown.

Despite the struggles on the ground, Barkley expressed his happiness with the team’s victory, noting that the “joy of winning” had been missing for a while, according to NJ.com. “We won a football game and it feels really good to win again,” Barkley said. “I thought we lost sight of the joy of winning, and I’m happy. Am I satisfied? No. We have a lot of room to improve and we’re going to go back and work on it, but it’s good to win.”

**Eagles’ Jalen Hurts Defends Saquon Barkley**

With the Eagles’ win over the Vikings, it remains crucial for the coaching staff and Barkley to fix the running game and get it back to the high level it showed last season. While Barkley owns his part, Hurts emphasized that it’s a “group effort.”

“Saquon is the best,” Hurts said. “And I don’t want him to feel like he’s carrying that by himself. It is a group effort. Everyone is involved in that. Everyone has to look and say, ‘Well, how can we help get something going the way it needs to go?’ Offensively, as a unit, it doesn’t matter how it looks. I said it’s about finding ways to win games, but we want to make sure all areas are green and in a good place.”

At any rate, Philadelphia improves to 5-2 as Barkley aims to bounce back and excel against the New York Giants next Sunday.

Shaikin: Andrew Friedman and the Dodgers prove all the trade deadline doomsayers wrong

You. And you. And you too. You all ripped the Dodgers for standing fairly pat at the trade deadline, despite glaring holes in left field and in the bullpen.

Heck, this was the headline in this very newspaper: “Andrew Friedman struck out on the Dodgers’ urgent need for a closer.” How ever would the Dodgers return to the World Series?

The San Diego Padres had crept within three games of the Dodgers, and they had given up one of their two elite prospects for Mason Miller. The Philadelphia Phillies, a team that would finish with more wins than the Dodgers in the regular season, had swapped prospects for Jhoan Duran.

The Dodgers, the team that had spent $85 million on veteran relievers Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates over the winter, had gotten their last three saves from Alex Vesia, Jack Dreyer and Ben Casparius. Their trade deadline pickups: Brock Stewart, a setup man who soon would be lost to injury for the season, and Alex Call, a fourth outfielder.

The Padres will not represent the National League in the World Series. Neither will the Phillies. The Dodgers will.

So that was Friedman late Friday night, drenched in celebratory alcohol after a championship series sweep, sloshing through pools of liquid forming on plastic sheeting. You love him now. Three months ago, you crushed him.

“Yeah,” he said with a shrug. “It comes with it.”

Friedman, the Dodgers’ president of baseball operations, appreciates your passion, if not your advice.

“The thing I can’t do is make moves based on what people think we should do,” he said. “We’re going to make mistakes. We’re going to be aggressive taking shots.

“Our goal is to be essentially the casino: be right more than we’re wrong, and have it yield a really good product that has a chance to win the World Series.”

To be the casino means to have options, and to hit on one of them, rather than depending on only one option.

“Our thing on not acquiring some pitching was, we thought we were going to be leaving talented pitchers off our playoff roster as is,” Friedman said. “It wasn’t as front of mind as it was for others.”

Let’s rewind here.

In left field, the Dodgers had to decide whether to acquire a productive bat for a corner outfield spot and release Michael Conforto, pick up a platoon partner for him, or let him ride. They picked up Alex Call, with an unannounced postseason contingency.

“I will say Kiké (Hernández) trading for him last year, re-signing him this year—that was part of the calculus, given his postseason pedigree,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “So that’s not something that was lost on us.”

It ain’t bragging if you back it up.

The Dodgers include October on their schedule every year, so they could afford to carry Hernández and his .255 on-base percentage and 0.1 WAR for six months because he conveniently transforms into a star for one month.

Hernández can play anywhere in the infield or outfield. The Dodgers did not include Conforto on their playoff roster. Hernández has started every game this postseason, with a .375 OBP. That took care of left field.

The closer?

Friedman believed the Dodgers had enough good arms that one would emerge, even with so many quality arms available in trade. He readily admits he had no idea Roki Sasaki would be the one, as Sasaki was on the injured list at the trade deadline and did not emerge as a reliever until mid-September.

“We said internally that things are lining up that we are going to be at the peak of our health in October,” Dodgers president Stan Kasten said. “And, if that’s the case, we love our rotation, we love our lineup, and we love our bullpen.”

Still, while the starters were headed toward health, the Dodgers made an audacious bet in not adding a late-inning relief arm. Scott, Yates, Brusdar Graterol, Michael Kopech and Evan Phillips all were injured, ineffective, or both.

In the postseason, Sasaki has given up one run and three hits in eight innings. He has three saves, as many as Yates had in the regular season.

“Those trades in July for relievers? That’s why we tried to do what we did in the offseason: be aggressive,” Friedman said. “Not only are the prices out of whack, the same reliever volatility that we were suffering from in that moment can still happen after you make a trade.”

Miller and Duran and, for that matter, David Bednar performed well for their new teams. Camilo Doval and Ryan Helsley did not.

So the Dodgers kept their prospects and determined some kind of solution would come from within.

“What we weren’t going to do was do something that we felt was foolish just to placate in that moment,” Friedman said, “and that’s how we have to try to operate and explain it as clearly as we can.

“That said, we’re going to make mistakes. We’re going to make mistakes quite often, and our goal is to learn from them and try to be right more than we’re wrong.”

What appeared in the moment to be two big mistakes turned out not to be.

Friedman has built two World Series champions within five years, with a third seemingly on deck, so he does not appear to be a moron, no matter what you might see on social media or in the comments section.

Perhaps the Dodgers’ World Series berth might silence his skeptics among the fan base.

“They’re enjoying the success,” Friedman said. “And I’m glad they are.”

Winning the trade deadline is not the goal. Winning a championship trophy is, and the sometimes confounding but always contending Dodgers are four victories away.

Florida Panthers Coach’s ‘Fear’ Admission Amid Injury Concerns

The Florida Panthers are the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, and many believe they have the potential to win a third straight title. However, the team is not currently at full strength. Head coach Paul Maurice was aware of this even before the Panthers’ 4-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night.

Florida suffered a major blow when Aleksander Barkov tore his ACL during training camp. Matthew Tkachuk is still recovering from injuries he played through during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Additionally, Thomas Nosek is out long-term, and the team announced on Wednesday that Dmitry Kulikov will miss five months due to injury.

Despite these setbacks, the Panthers have shown their quality early in the season. They won their first three games before dropping consecutive matches against the Philadelphia Flyers and the Red Wings. This is not a team to count out in the slightest.

At the same time, there is an uneasiness creeping in. Maurice emphasized that there is no arrogance in the locker room. His team understands they won’t simply coast through the season. While he doesn’t sense fear, he admits there is an undefinable feeling present. “That’s part of it,” Maurice said.

Panthers Find Focus Among Injuries

Florida’s talent can still carry them far. Brad Marchand has had an excellent start to the season, Sam Bennett is playing great and is the reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner, and Sergei Bobrovsky remains dialed in despite the team’s recent losses.

However, talent can only take the Panthers so far when so many key players are sidelined. Even for a team this loaded, injuries of such magnitude are challenging to overcome. As a result, each player has to dial in their focus, much like Bobrovsky has done.

Maurice sees his team as focused — as much as they need to be. He hoped this mindset would develop through their offseason work, but admits that “focus out of necessity is still focus.” He explained, “My summer was, how do I get these guys back focused on the hard. Well, the injuries happened. Now everybody’s focused because we need to be.”

Paul Maurice Finds Potential Silver Lining

In a difficult situation filled with challenges, there are very few positives to take away. The Panthers are hurting, and there is concern their injury issues could persist. However, Maurice believes there is at least one silver lining as they look ahead to the playoffs.

“That’s the only thing we get out of this, because we’re going to have to scratch and claw to make the playoffs, because the division is that good,” he said.

Florida’s current standard is to make the playoffs at a minimum. Anything less would be considered a failure, even given the injury situation. It’s an uphill battle, but it’s one the Panthers are prepared to tackle head on.

New York Red Bulls vs Cincinnati Prediction and Betting Tips | 4th October 2025

New York Red Bulls Host Cincinnati at Red Bull Arena in Key MLS Clash

This Saturday, the New York Red Bulls will host FC Cincinnati at the Red Bull Arena in a crucial MLS matchup as they seek only their 13th win of the 2025 season. The Red Bulls come into the game following a narrow 3-2 defeat against their city rivals, New York City FC. Despite mounting two comebacks during the match, a decisive goal from Thiago Martins in the 65th minute ultimately sealed their fate.

Currently, New York Red Bulls sit 10th in the Eastern Conference with 43 points from 32 games, having already been eliminated from playoff contention.

On the other side, FC Cincinnati holds second place with 59 points, just four shy of league leaders Philadelphia Union, with two matches remaining. The Orange and Blue are aiming to overtake the Union but will need some help, as Philadelphia must slip up for Cincinnati to have a shot at reaching the top spot.

Cincinnati’s recent form has improved after consecutive losses to New York City and Philadelphia. They have since gone unbeaten in their last three league games, registering wins over Nashville and LA Galaxy and a draw with Orlando City.

**Head-to-Head & Key Stats**
The two teams have met 19 times historically, with each side claiming eight wins. Cincinnati defeated the Red Bulls in their most recent encounter and are looking to secure back-to-back victories against New York for the first time since 2020 (excluding a 2023 penalty shootout win).

New York Red Bulls have managed only one victory in their last five MLS games. Meanwhile, Cincinnati remains unbeaten in their past three league matches. Interestingly, although Cincinnati ranks second in the Eastern Conference, they have the lowest goal tally (48) among the top nine teams.

**Match Prediction**
Overall, Cincinnati has enjoyed a stronger campaign this season and enters this fixture in better form. The Red Bulls have struggled consistently and may face a tough challenge against an in-form Cincinnati side.

**Predicted Score:**
New York Red Bulls 1 – 2 Cincinnati

Kylie Kelce reflects on pain of misccarying first pregnancy

Kylie Kelce has admitted that the emotional pain of suffering a miscarriage seven years ago “still hurts.” The 33-year-old star, who shares daughters Wyatt, six, Elliotte, four, Bennett, two, and Finn, six months, with husband Jason Kelce, first found out she was pregnant in August 2018. Tragically, she discovered she had lost the baby when she was 12 weeks along. Kylie stressed that having her other children afterwards didn’t make the loss any less painful.

Speaking on her *Not Gonna Lie* podcast, she said, “I emphasise the fact that this still hurts after having four children, because it does. And it’s okay.”

Kylie shared her experience to mark October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. She recalled how she and Jason had traveled to London so he could play a Philadelphia Eagles game in the UK before their 12-week appointment. During the trip, they broke the news of her pregnancy to Jason’s family.

She grew emotional as she recalled:
“We made it a point to surprise Jason’s mom and dad when we were there by pretending to take a photo and telling them that we were expecting. We surprised Jason’s mom and dad with a video. We also surprised Jason’s Aunt Judy and his grandmother, Grandma Mary. When we were in Cleveland, we surprised [Jason’s brother] Travis with little baby booties. All of these interactions were recorded for memory purposes.”

The podcaster described how everything “went into slow motion” when she learned during her doctor’s appointment that she had miscarried. She said,
“It felt like everything went into slow motion. And they could not find the baby on the doppler. I remember being like, ‘Oh, there isn’t a heartbeat.’ You didn’t find one because there isn’t one.”

They estimated that the baby had stopped developing between nine and ten weeks. Essentially, Kylie had experienced what is referred to as a missed miscarriage.

Kylie was initially afraid to tell Jason because it was his birthday. She cried as she said,
“It was a s***** day because it was Jason’s birthday. I called my mom and told her that I couldn’t tell Jason because it was his birthday, which seems very silly. It seems very silly because obviously I’m going to tell my husband what happened. And I did. And it was hard for both of us.”

She admitted the loss “messed with [her] brain” and that she concealed her subsequent pregnancies until she was much further along. Kylie explained,
“Having had that experience then messed with my brain for every consecutive pregnancy. So for Wyatt, we did not share that we were pregnant until I was after 20 weeks. For consecutive pregnancies, I waited till I was at least 16 weeks.”

“I Googled almost every week what the percentage likelihood was that a baby could survive, which sounds really dark. I literally did it for Finn.”
