Police arrest suspect after attempted abduction in Meijer gas station parking lot

TRAVERSE CITY, MI A 51-year-old man from Benzie County was arrested Sunday after police say he allegedly tried to abduct someone from a parking lot outside a Meijer gas station along U. S. 31. The incident occurred Sunday around 8: 30 a. m. outside the gas station in Garfield Township, just outside of Traverse City, state police said. Police say the suspect fled the scene after the attempted abduction. Dispatchers put out a BOL (be on the lookout) with the suspect’s vehicle description and its direction of travel. “Troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) and deputies from the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Department (GTCSD) responded to the area and began a canvas looking for the suspect vehicle,” state police said. “At approximately 10: 05 a. m., a deputy located the suspect vehicle south of town near Chums Corners.” Officers stopped the suspect’s vehicle, and the man was taken into custody. He was lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail. Authorities say more information will be released as the investigation continues. “The MSP would like to thank the Grand Traverse Central Dispatch, Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Department, and the citizens on scene for their help during this incident.”.

JSO investigating woman found dead on 14th Street

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman was found dead Monday afternoon on the 1300 block of West 14th Street. JSO responded to a call about a possible stabbing around 1: 10 p. m. They found an unresponsive woman in her 50s. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Investigators said the woman was last seen on Friday at her rooming house. Even though the call was about a stabbing, JSO says the circumstances around her death are still unclear. Detectives are working to piece together what happened. They encourage anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues. Woman Cyclists Dies After Dragged 250 Meters, Myanmar Man Arrested

OSAKA, Oct 12 – A tragic accident occurred in Osaka’s Fukushima Ward, where a woman riding a bicycle was killed after being dragged approximately 250 meters by a truck following a collision at an intersection.

The incident took place around 9:40 a.m. on October 11, when emergency services received a call reporting that a woman was being dragged by a truck in the Noda area.

According to police reports, the 25-year-old victim was pulled along the road with her bicycle by a 10-ton truck. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver, a 57-year-old Myanmar national, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of negligent driving causing injury. He has admitted to the allegations.

Authorities have stated that they plan to upgrade the charge to negligent driving causing death as the investigation continues.
