Arshad Warsi’s extended cameo as Ghafoor in the Netflix series *The Bads of Bollywood* has recently become a hot topic among fans and critics alike. In a candid interview, Warsi shared fascinating insights about how the role came to be and why he accepted it without even hearing the script or knowing his character in detail.
### Instant Agreement Without the Script
Warsi revealed to Mid-Day that the decision to join the project was spontaneous. When director Aryan Khan approached him for a two-day shoot, Warsi’s immediate response was, “When do you want me to come?” He continued, “Aryan was trying to sell the role to me, but I did it without hearing the script or my character.” His admiration for Shah Rukh Khan and his family played a major role in this instant agreement. “I love Shah Rukh and his family. The amount Shah Rukh has done for the film industry, I think it owes him!” Warsi added.
### Character Inspired by Shah Rukh Khan
The look of Warsi’s character, Ghafoor, was designed by director Aryan Khan and drew inspiration from Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic role in *Raees*. One of the standout elements of his character is his entry song, which quickly became a sensation. Warsi shared, “Wherever I enter now, they start playing the song. It’s because of the song that my character has become so popular.” Despite the role being quirky and unusual, Warsi expressed trust in Aryan Khan’s vision.
### A Glimpse Into Aryan Khan’s Work Ethic
Working closely with Aryan Khan gave Warsi the opportunity to observe traits reminiscent of Shah Rukh Khan himself. “Aryan is also hard-working like his father. Also, they both don’t sleep. The abundant energy they have is unbelievable,” said Warsi. He also revealed that Shah Rukh Khan visited the sets during filming and even offered suggestions for his role. “The day SRK directs, he will be a very good director,” Warsi enthused.
### What’s Next for Arshad Warsi?
Looking ahead, Arshad Warsi is gearing up for a serious role. He will be seen as a police officer in the upcoming film *Bhagwat Chapter One: Rakshas*, directed by Akshay Shere. “After *Seher*, this is the first time I’m playing a serious cop,” he mentioned. The ZEE5 film also stars Jitendra Kumar, known for his work in *Panchayat*.
Meanwhile, *The Bads of Bollywood*, featuring stars like Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Lakshya, and Raghav Juyal, was released on Netflix in September and continues to attract viewers.
