President Donald Trump addressed the country on Wednesday following a shooting in Washington, D. C., that left three people wounded, including two members of the West Virginia National Guard. The incident occurred in the vicinity of the White House and prompted immediate responses from federal and local authorities. The president said the attack was reportedly carried out by an Afghan national who entered the United States in 2021 under President Joe Biden. Trump described the shooting as “a crime against our nation.” “This heinous assault was an act of evil and act of hatred and an act of terror,” Trump said. “It was a crime against our entire nation. It was a crime against humanity. Americans tonight are with those two West Virginian National Guard and their families.” Trump said the individual responsible would face consequences. This Could Be the Most Important Video Gun Owners Watch All Year He also said the Department of Homeland Security believes the suspect was brought into the country during the 2021 evacuation from Afghanistan. “He was flown in by the Biden administration in September 2021,” Trump said. “Nobody knew who was coming in. Nobody knew anything about it. His status was extended by legislation that was signed by President Biden. A disastrous president the worst in the history of our country.” Trump called for vetting of individuals brought from Afghanistan during that time. Federal agencies have not yet released additional information about the suspect’s immigration status beyond acknowledging an active investigation. Breitbart News reported that three people were shot on Wednesday afternoon, leading to a temporary lockdown at the White House. WJLA reported that the alleged shooter was taken into custody. The Associated Press reported that the conditions of the injured Guardsmen were not yet known. The Joint DC Task Force confirmed that the shooting occurred “in the vicinity of the White House.” The New York Times reported that the incident took place near the entrance to the Farragut West Metro Station. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth called the act “cowardly” and said it will “only stiffen our resolve to ensure that we make Washington D. C. safe and beautiful.”.

Psyonix says it’s implemented changes to combat Rocket League server attacks
Rocket League developer has released a lengthy statement acknowledging an ongoing issue with server attacks within the game. In an attempt to combat them, the studio has deployed some key changes, but says that thwarting hackers is an ongoing battle. Psyonix posted a statement on X in article format to discuss the game’s ongoing server attack issue. In it, they discuss the two primary types of server attacks: DOS (Denial of Service) and DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks. Psyonix explained how and why hackers do this. To combat this issue, Psyonix says that it has optimized Rocket League’s server code and added a new DDoS detection that’ll prevent server hackers from receiving a win. According to the developer, these changes have already led to a decline in server attacks.

[Catholic Caucus Devotional] My Catholic Life! Catholic Daily Reflections: Remember Me, My God and King – Sunday, November 23, 2025
[Catholic Caucus Devotional] My Catholic Life! Catholic Daily Reflections: Remember Me, My God and King Sunday, November 23, 2025 My Catholic Life! (YouTube) ^ | Sunday, November 23, 2025 | My Catholic Life! Posted on by fidelis Daily Readings from the USCCB The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” Luke 22: 42-43 What powerful words these were. As Jesus hung dying on the Cross for the salvation of the world, He hung between two thieves. These thieves represent all of us. One of them wanted Jesus to save His earthly life by coming down from the Cross and saving him at the same time. The other thief made a prayer for eternal life, asking Jesus to remember him when Jesus entered His Kingdom. To the latter, Jesus granted his request. Oftentimes we pray for earthly goods and pay little attention to eternal ones. Today, as we celebrate the last Sunday of the liturgical year, we celebrate the Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. On this day, we are invited to pray this prayer with the good thief, acknowledging that we are sinners deserving death, but hoping and praying for mercy and a share in the Eternal Kingdom of God. Nothing makes the soul of our Lord more joyful than saving His children. He endured suffering and death out of love. He knew that His death would destroy our death if we cling to Him in hope. On the Cross, Jesus’ gaze was on eternal, not earthly, redemption. He beheld the glorious throne that He mounted. It began with a cross but would end with glory, power and splendor beyond imagination. As we honor Jesus as the great and glorious King of the Universe, we are encouraged to invite Him to establish His kingship in our lives more fully. Though Jesus’ permanent, lasting and visible Kingdom will be established only in the future when He returns at the end of time, His Kingdom must begin now. The Kingdom of God is established here and now every time you allow Him to exercise His kingship in your life. As a King, Jesus desires to order your life. He demands perfect submission of your will to Him. He demands complete obedience. And He demands that you embrace this kingship of His freely, of your own choosing. These are demands of perfect love that bring about a sharing in His eternal Kingdom. How well do you do this? Throughout our world, there are many forms of governments. Democracies are thought by many to be the best form of government because no one person is capable of being the perfect king. Therefore a democracy is more of a safeguard against tyranny and abusive leadership. But when it comes to the end of time, the governance of humanity will take place by a King-the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is the only one Who is capable of governing humanity with justice and love. He is the only one under Whose leadership we will all flourish. He is the only one Who will be able to establish universal peace and harmony. Reflect, today, upon the glorious end of the world when our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of the Universe, will return in splendor and majesty to judge the living and the dead and to establish His permanent and unending Kingdom. Though we are not able to comprehend what this Kingdom will be at this time, we must believe in it with faith and have supernatural hope that we will share in it. Reflect, especially, upon your mission to allow that Kingdom of grace and mercy to begin now, within the depths of your own soul. Surrender all to Him. Invite Him to reign over your thoughts, will, body and soul. Do not hesitate. Trust in this one and only glorious King Who is worthy of our total obedience. My Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, You and You alone are worthy of our total trust and surrender in all things. I do choose You as my King today. I join with the good thief and come to You with all my sin, praying that You will remember me when You come into Your glorious Kingdom. Jesus, I trust in You. Marvel’s Deadpool VR review: The merc with an HMD
For a second consecutive year, Oculus Studios has delivered a superhero game as its flagship VR experience for the fall. Last year it was Batman: Arkham Shadow and this year it’s Marvel’s Deadpool VR. The popular Marvel character feels right at home in VR, even if experience is bogged down by the woes of the hardware. Maximum effort Marvel’s Deadpool VR finds the titular antihero on a mission for S. H. I. E. L. D. when he’s forcefully brought in by the villain Mojo to capture other villains for his upcoming reality TV show. It’s the sort of wacky plot synopsis that only Deadpool could get away with. As Deadpool jumps into different areas of the universe, he does battle with villains like Lady Deathstrike and Mephisto. There’s a sense of life to the world of Deadpool VR. Developer Twisted Pixel brings in a lot of lesser-known characters to fill out the roster, which I always appreciate in a game like this. That combined with the various locations really makes it feel like you’re exploring an untouched corner of the Marvel universe. Of course, this is a Deadpool game, and it does not skimp out on the humor and fourth wall breaking. Deadpool is constantly acknowledging the fact that he’s in a video game, that it’s VR, and that he’s being controlled by a human player. He references characters not just from the Marvel pantheon, but pop culture as a whole. I was usually on board with Deadpool’s humor, but it’s a reality of comedy that when you’re constantly firing off jokes, you’re going to have some misses. It also didn’t help that Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Wade Wilson, feels like he’s doing a Ryan Reynolds impersonation most of the time. Your mileage will vary greatly based on how much you love to hear Deadpool crack jokes about anything and everything happening around him. I wore my red pants today VR is a platform where gameplay has to come first, and Deadpool VR provides an excellent playground for chaos. Wade Wilson is equipped with pistols, swords, bombs, and a grappler that he can use in tandem to kill enemies in a plethora of ways. My personal favorite was throwing his swords like daggers, which would then pin enemies to a nearby wall if they were close enough. You can also grab automatic weapons and rifles from defeated enemies or various weapon caches around the world. I’m lucky enough that I don’t struggle with VR sickness, but if you do, Deadpool VR has three settings for you to customize your experience. These settings will tweak locomotion and on-screen movement so that you’re not getting queasy as Wade Wilson falls from great heights or propels himself up using the grapple gun. After playing enough Deadpool VR, you’ll notice that the majority of encounters boil down to you being stuck in a room as waves of enemies enter until you can defeat them all and move on. Combat is fun, but this setup can feel repetitive after a while. There were a few instances where I caught myself hoping that I had just finished the last wave of enemies before I could progress, which isn’t how I should feel in an action game. Still, if you just want to slice some heads, this game should be on your radar. The devs don’t hold back on the blood and gore; you can decapitate and dismember enemies as you fight through hordes of them. Enemies can also destroy your limbs, and you’ll have to wait as Wade’s regenerative powers form baby limbs that grow into adult size. Superhero landing Marvel’s Deadpool VR doesn’t hit the immersive highs as Batman: Arkham Shadows did last year, but it’s still a fun superhero romp from Oculus Studios. The developers at Twisted Pixel make great use of the Deadpool IP, and there’s no shortage of havoc to wreak if you’re just looking for an action-heavy VR experience. This review is based on a code provided by the publisher, played on Meta Quest 3. Marvel’s Deadpool VR is available now for $49. 99 on Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

“There is a technical problem” – Cheteshwar Pujara on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dismissal in IND vs SA 2025 1st Test
Former India player Cheteshwar Pujara has attributed Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dismissal in the second innings of the first Test against South Africa to a technical flaw. Pujara emphasized that an opener should be capable of defending such deliveries, especially in Indian conditions.
Jaiswal was caught behind off Marco Jansen’s bowling for a four-ball duck in Kolkata on Sunday, November 16. India lost the game by 30 runs while chasing a modest target of 124 runs.
During a discussion on Star Sports, Pujara was asked about Jaiswal’s aggressive approach at the start of his innings before he got out without scoring.
“His approach was absolutely right. He started positively. Runs weren’t scored with the shots he tried to play. However, it’s about how you tackle a ball you can’t play a shot against. Rishabh Pant is a classical example. We talk about a method in his batting. Yashasvi will have to find that method,” the former India batter responded.
“In the first innings, he cut a ball when there wasn’t much room. So that was a mistake, which is understandable. However, today, as an opener, it’s concerning if you are unable to defend a good ball. His feet didn’t move, he opened up a little, and followed the ball. There is a technical problem here that he needs to sort out. You need to defend this ball properly in Indian conditions,” Pujara added.
Yashasvi Jaiswal had attempted cut shots off the first two balls of his innings. After the third ball went down the leg side, he nicked the fourth delivery to Kyle Verreynne behind the stumps, resulting in India losing their first wicket before a run had been scored.
In the same discussion, former India opener Aakash Chopra expressed his view that Jaiswal has an issue against left-arm seamers.
“I feel he has an issue against left-armers. It is across formats. We have seen him getting out against left-armers many times. It was the inside-edge in the first innings. He is adamant that he has to play the cut if he sees the ball slightly short and wide,” Chopra said.
While acknowledging that Jaiswal fell prey to a good ball in the second innings, Chopra added that the left-handed opener needs to find a solution for his struggles against left-armers.
“He got out to a good ball. I don’t think he could have left it. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal against left-armers, it’s a story worth looking into. If it’s happening across formats, a solution will have to be found for that issue, or there will be a strategy that Yashasvi can be dismissed by bringing in left-armers,” Chopra observed.
Aakash Chopra described Yashasvi Jaiswal’s early dismissal in India’s second innings as a sad story. He reasoned that the 23-year-old was a very important batter for the hosts, considering the nature of the pitch, as he could have taken the game forward quickly.

Alexander brothers ordered to face sex trafficking charges after judge delivers major blow in 60-victim rape case
**Sex-Trafficking Prosecution of Luxury Real Estate Brokers Alexander Brothers to Proceed After Federal Judge’s Ruling**
The sex-trafficking prosecution of luxury real estate brokers Tal and Oren Alexander, along with their brother Alon, can move ahead after a federal judge rejected most of their attempts to dismiss the charges.
Manhattan federal Judge Valerie Caproni ruled on Tuesday that the allegations against the Alexander brothers—accused of dozens of instances of rape and sexual assault spanning more than a decade—are legally sufficient to proceed to trial.
The decision, originally issued on October 17 but kept under seal until Tuesday, marks a significant setback for the defense team’s efforts to derail the case before it reaches a jury.
—
**Allegations and Charges**
Prosecutors say more than 60 women have reported being sexually assaulted by one or more of the brothers, with 11 new victims coming forward through civil lawsuits.
The Alexanders face 10 felony counts, including conspiracy and sex trafficking. They have pleaded not guilty and remain in custody since their December arrest.
Authorities allege that from 2009 through 2021, the brothers conspired to drug, sexually assault, and rape dozens of women, luring them with luxury hotel stays, international travel, and exclusive event access.
In some instances, victims were transported across state and international lines, then drugged and physically restrained before being raped, according to the indictment.
—
**Examples of Alleged Incidents**
One woman recounted meeting Oren Alexander at a luxurious Miami house party in 2018. After striking up a conversation, he offered to give her a tour of the property, led her to a bedroom, then “aggressively threw her onto the bed and forcibly sexually assaulted her,” she claims in her lawsuit.
In another incident, a woman said she was invited to a New York City house party hosted by Tal Alexander in July 2013. After being handed an alcoholic beverage, she felt “lightheaded and disoriented” and alleges she was forcibly raped by both Tal and Oren Alexander.
—
**Defense Arguments and Judge’s Ruling**
The brothers’ lawyers argued that the charges were too vague, lacked specificity, and, in some cases, were beyond the statute of limitations. However, Judge Caproni dismissed most of these arguments.
She did narrow one attempted sex-trafficking count from June 2009, ruling it barred by the statute of limitations. Yet, the actual sex-trafficking charge from the same incident remains intact, with the judge acknowledging this “may create an anomalous result.”
—
**Evidence and Search Warrants**
Judge Caproni also denied the Alexander brothers’ requests to suppress evidence seized from a New York apartment, cloud storage files, and a Facebook account, allowing this evidence to be used at trial.
Authorities executed a warrant in December to search Tal Alexander’s apartment in a Manhattan skyscraper on “Billionaire’s Row.” Several hard drives were seized, including one containing a large quantity of sexually explicit videos and photos.
Prosecutors state these videos depict Alon and Oren Alexander, along with other men, engaged in sexual contact with women “who are visibly under the influence of alcohol or other substances.” In several cases, at least one brother and another man “physically manipulated the women’s bodies to have sex with them while the women did not actively participate or turned away.”
—
**Background and Legal Proceedings**
The brothers were first arrested in Florida in December 2024 on an initial indictment charging one count of sex-trafficking conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking. A grand jury issued a superseding indictment in May, followed by another superseding indictment in June, leading to their re-arrest at the courthouse.
Oren and Tal Alexander made names as luxury real estate agents at Douglas Elliman before founding their own firm, Official, in 2022. Alon, Oren’s twin brother, worked at a family-owned security company. Tal Alexander, the eldest, is not a twin.
—
**Civil Lawsuits and Defense Claims**
In addition to criminal charges, the brothers face multiple civil lawsuits from women with similar allegations. Defense attorneys have dismissed these suits as “cash grabs,” accusing high-profile personal injury firm Morgan & Morgan of “dictating” the criminal investigation.
“For months, we’ve watched orchestrated efforts encouraging women to profit from past sexual experiences with the Alexander brothers,” said Tal Alexander’s attorneys Milton Williams and Deanna Paul. “These frivolous lawsuits, filed days before the law’s look-back window is set to expire, are a transparent attempt at a cash grab.”
—
**Current Status**
The Alexander brothers remain held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, the same facility currently housing the alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO killer, Luigi Mangione.
The Post has reached out to the Alexander brothers for comment but has yet to receive a response.

Bears Give Grim Update on Rookie Who Suffered Injury vs. Giants
The Chicago Bears pulled out a 24-20 win over the New York Giants on Sunday in front of their home crowd. However, before securing the victory, the team provided a grim update on the injury status of fourth-round rookie linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II.
Hyppolite exited in the third quarter of Week 10’s game — his first active game since September — due to a knee injury. Initially designated as “questionable” by the team, his status was later updated to out for the remainder of the game after about 40 minutes. The Bears’ communications team confirmed the update on X during Sunday’s game, stating:
“#Bears LB Ruben Hyppolite II (Knee) has been downgraded to OUT.”
Bears head coach Ben Johnson acknowledged Hyppolite’s knee injury during his postgame press conference but did not provide further details on the extent of the injury. Notably, the coach did not receive any questions from the press regarding Hyppolite’s current status.
This knee injury is a tough break for the rookie linebacker. Hyppolite had played 18 defensive snaps and 62 special teams snaps across the first four games of the season. However, after veteran T. J. Edwards returned following Week 5’s bye, Hyppolite was a healthy scratch for four consecutive games before finally seeing action again on Sunday against the Giants.
The Bears may share more details about Hyppolite’s injury during Coach Johnson’s media availability on Monday. Otherwise, fans will have to wait for the Wednesday injury report ahead of Chicago’s Week 11 road game against the Minnesota Vikings for the next official update.
The Bears (6-3) will square off against the Vikings (4-5) in a rematch at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday.

Humility: The Solid Foundation for Holiness
**Getting Your Trinity Audio Player Ready**
Only once in Sacred Scripture, in the Gospel of Matthew (11:28-30), does Jesus describe the characteristics of His Sacred Heart:
> “Come to me all you who find life burdensome, and I will give you rest.
> Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.
> For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
These are the two essential qualities of His Sacred Heart that Jesus highlights: meekness and humility.
From this passage, the Church has formulated one of its most beautiful aspirations, which we can take into our hearts and repeat frequently during the course of the day. That prayer is:
> “Jesus meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto thine.”
Time and time again, Jesus insists on the dire importance of humility if we want to find God’s favor. God rejects the proud, and He lifts up the humble.
### The Parable of the Pharisee and the Publican
This teaching is illustrated perfectly in the Parable of the Pharisee and the Publican (Luke 18:9-14). The two go up to the temple to pray. The Pharisee names all his good points and praises himself. The Publican, on the other hand, remains in the back of the temple and does not even lift his eyes to pray, begging God to have mercy on him, a sinner.
### Our Lady’s Example of Humility
Our Lady gave us the perfect example by proclaiming herself the handmaid of the Lord. In her marvelous prayer, the Magnificat, she both praises God and humbles herself, saying,
> “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
> for he has looked upon the lowliness (humility) of his handmaid” (Luke 1:46-56).
Given that humility is essential to our growth in holiness, let us explore some practical ways in which we can strive for this virtue.
—
### Practical Ways to Cultivate Humility
**1. Pray**
It has been said that we are greatest and highest—in the eyes of God—when we are on our knees. By praying, we acknowledge our dependence on God and not on ourselves. In the words of the “Doctor of Grace,” St. Augustine, pertinent to humility related to prayer:
> “We are all beggars before God.”
**2. Cultivate Gratitude**
How important it is for our holiness to cultivate an attitude of gratitude and to say often, both to God and to others, those significant words: “Thank you!” Humble people go out of their way to give thanks.
Jesus was both dismayed and hurt when, after healing the ten lepers, only one returned to give Him thanks. The one who returned recognized that his healing was a pure gift from the Heart of Jesus the Healer, the Divine Physician.
**3. Take the Last Place**
Jesus offers us the Parable of the Banquet, in which many were jostling to secure for themselves the best place, closest to the host. Jesus warned that when invited, we should take the last place and not the first. Then we will be first in the eyes of God. This is a sign of a humble heart!
**4. Do Not Curse Others**
Our natural tendency, when someone cuts us off on the road, is to utter nasty words or curse them. This is all too natural — not supernatural.
Jesus wants us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. These commands are found in the Sermon on the Mount, the Our Father, and even when He hung on the cross:
> “Father forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.”
**5. Compliment Others for Their Gifts**
One of the most poisonous attitudes in the spiritual life is jealousy or envy. When we give in to such feelings, we hurt God, ourselves, and others. By choosing to praise or compliment others instead, we win the spiritual battle—indeed, this is a victory in humility!
**6. Be First to Greet**
Imagine this everyday scene: you are walking towards someone you know, and the distance between you is lessening. Do you wait to be greeted first or take the initiative?
Whoever greets first is practicing a host of virtues: charity, courtesy, hospitality, affability, and, of course, humility. We put the other person before ourselves by choosing to greet first, and that is humility.
**7. Apologize**
This one is easier said than done! When we make a mistake or offend someone, it is easy to rationalize, justify, or sweep it under the rug. Such pride is insidious and prevalent.
A humble person is honest, capable of admitting their error and saying, “I am sorry.” Many relationships have been mended by these simple yet humble words.
**8. Listen Attentively**
St. James states clearly:
> “We should be slow to speak and quick to listen” (James 1:19).
A person who wants to do all the talking and refuses to listen often harbors pride and self-love. Conversely, one who listens attentively, encourages, and does not seek the last word displays great humility. The listener pleases Jesus, the best of speakers and listeners (see Luke 24 on Jesus and the disciples of Emmaus).
**9. Confess Your Sins**
Every time we prepare and make a good sacramental confession, our “humility thermometer” ascends to a soaring level.
Confessing with transparency, sincerity, and honesty our moral failings to the priest demands great humility. None of us like to reveal our spiritual shortcomings, but it is necessary to climb the ladder of humility and holiness.
**10. Have a Devotion to Mary**
Our Lady is the surest, quickest, and most efficacious pathway to Jesus. In *True Devotion to Mary*, the great Marian saint Louis de Montfort exalts Mary and ten of her most sublime virtues.
Among Mary’s greatest virtues is her profound humility. Of all God’s creatures, Mary was the greatest and by far the humblest. She recognized that all her gifts and virtues were pure gifts from God.
—
### In Conclusion
In our pursuit of holiness, we must understand the paramount importance of humility. Yet more importantly, let us strive to put this essential virtue into practice daily.
May we lift up our hearts often throughout the day, longing for holiness and humility, and pray:
> **Jesus meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto thine.**
