Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 schedule features Pokemon Legends: Z-A & Silent Hill f

Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 is looking to kick off the new year in a big way. On Monday, the GDQ team revealed the schedule for January’s weeklong speedrunning event. Among the games set to be showcased are some recent releases like Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Silent Hill f, some old favorites, and a few new ideas that haven’t been tried before. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set to make its GDQ debut early on Monday, the second day of the marathon. Tentatively set for 11: 25 a. m. PT/2: 25 p. m. ET, runner zypotic will look to reach Rank F on the Switch 2 version of the game in 1: 50: 00. That run will be followed by the Switch 2 update of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, featuring an Any& run of only Star-Crossed World, which was released back in August. The second day will end with a horror block that includes the GDQ debut of Silent Hill f, where runner CaptainEzekiel will look to finish New Game Story in 90 minutes. The week will begin with an Any% run for Super Mario Sunshine. Other highlights include a Side Story Showcase for Split Fiction, the GDQ debut of Once Upon a Katamari, Super Smash Bros. Brawl’s single-player Subspace Emissary mode, a Path of Exile 2 run of the recent Act 4, the traditional Awful Games Done Quick block, and a bid war where donations will determine whether The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time or Majora’s Mask gets run blindfolded. Arguably one of the most anticipated runs will come on the final day where Super Mario 64 will be the focus of a 70-person relay with each runner collecting one Star each en route to defeating Bowser. The week will end with a Pokemon Emerald run in which donations will determine the runner’s main Pokemon of the moment. Runner adef first attempted this run back at Games Done Quick Express at TwitchCon. It had some major hiccups, including a stretch where audiences donated towards main Pokemon Ditto, but ended up being a crowd-pleasing run by the time it wrapped up. Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 will take place from January 14-20, 2024 and be held live from Pittsburgh, PA. The January marathon will look to raise money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

EXCLUSIVE: Dolly Parton’s Health Battle Sparks Fears for Country Icon, 79 — as Stars Continue to Rally Around Her After Canceling Las Vegas Gigs

Nov. 8 2025, Published 9:00 a.m. ET Dolly Parton has been forced to cancel concerts as she prepares for medical procedures – and RadarOnline.com can reveal loved ones are furiously working 9 to 5 to bolster her amid fears of losing the country legend. Sources said the 79-year-old performer has been flooded with support from both famous faces and fans, as well as her nearest and dearest. The flurry of attention comes as the Jolene songbird pulled the plug on her upcoming six-show Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, as doctors demanded she deal with a potentially deadly medical crisis that has forced her to stay resting at her sprawling mansion in Nashville, Tennessee. Dolly’s Support System An insider said: “Dolly’s been a rock for the likes of Reba [McEntire], Kelly [Clarkson] and so many others and they want to be there for Dolly, too. “They’re checking in, sending care packages and notes, and telling her they’re here to help with anything she needs. Whether it be a hug or a talk, all she needs to do is ask. “Dolly appreciates their comforting words. She’s leaning on them more than ever, especially with her husband, Carl [Dean], gone.” Meanwhile, pals are secretly worried about losing the beloved Queen of Country. Dolly’s Tough Few Months “Behind the scenes, her friends are extremely upset to hear she’s having these health issues,” added the insider. “She’s never been this vulnerable. Dolly always managed to avoid things like this but now they’re seeing she’s human and hoping and praying she’ll pull through.” As RadarOnline.com reported, Parton has been dealt a rough deck of cards this year, losing her hubby of nearly 59 years, Dean, in March. She’s also been suffering from kidney stone issues, which she admitted were causing her a “lot of problems” and preventing her from traveling. Pushing Back Show Dates To Focus On Healing RadarOnline.com previously reported how she threw herself into work to stay busy, but friends were worried she was stretching herself too thin and on the verge of burnout. She’s now moved her Las Vegas shows set for the Christmas period to September 2026. “I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” Parton told fans.

EXCLUSIVE: How Folk Icon Joni Mitchell Revived Her Career Because ‘She Knows She Doesn’t Have Much Time Left’ — on Her 82nd Birthday

Nov. 7 2025, Published 6:26 p.m. ET Folk icon Joni Mitchell has embraced her golden years with a promise to give back to fans as “she knows she doesn’t have much time left,” RadarOnline.com can reveal. Mitchell, who turned 82 on November 7, delivered a memorable performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards – and insiders claimed she pushed herself to pull off the appearance as a farewell to fans. Joni’s ‘Farewell’ Performance While Mitchell took home a Grammy for Best Folk Album, the most memorable moment of the evening was when she took the stage with Brandi Carlisle to perform one of her biggest hits – and brought the house down. An insider said of the performance: “Joni knows she doesn’t have much time left, and she wanted to give her fans a last chance to see her singing one of her most significant songs.” It took a lot for Mitchell to even be able to make it to the music industry’s biggest night, let alone deliver an incredible performance. Mitchell has suffered several health crisis, beginning with a contracting Polio when she was nine-years-old. The illness left her with a permanent weakness in her left hand and leg. In 2015, she was struck with a crippling brain aneurysm that initially robbed her of the ability to walk and talk. With the help of ongoing and intense therapy, the singer-songwriter slowly relearned basic life skills in addition to teaching herself how to sing and play music again. Now, in her 80s, she’s battling a rare and taxing condition, Morgellons disease. Symptoms of Morgellons disease “include the feeling that fibers are emerging from the skin,” and those with the condition “often report feeling as if something is crawling on or stinging their skin,” according to the Mayo Clinic. The insider noted: “Joni is struggling in so many ways, she’s convinced her body will give out on her sooner than later.” Sources say the gutsy songbird chose the Grammys for her final act, not only because she won an award for her live album Joni Mitchell at Newport, but also because she’d never performed at the awards show before and knew she’d reach millions of fans. A source added: “This was Joni’s musical love letter to the world. And from the reaction she got, it’s clear the world is loving her back!” When Mitchell finished belting out Both Sides Now at the award show, the audience erupted in cheers and gave her a standing ovation. While it appeared the Grammys would be her last major performance, Mitchell stunned fans when she offered her talents to raise funds for victims of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. She sat in an ornate chair and tapped her cane on the floor as she delivered another rare and tear-jerking rendition of Both Sides Now with Blake Mills supporting on the guitar at the FireAid concert in January.

That Massive ‘Now You See Me 3’ Spoiler Cameo Almost Didn’t Happen

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t performed a magic trick at the box office this weekend, taking the #1 spot over the much-hyped remake of The Running Man starring Glen Powell. It seems audiences are very much in the mood to keep seeing the Four Horsemen perform the kind of wild, Robin Hood-esque stunts this star-studded franchise is all about. And it’s likely to continue. Not only has director Ruben Fleischer already begun chipping away at a fourth film, but the film itself ends with a big, surprise tease towards what’s next. Though, according to Fleischer, it almost didn’t happen. To explain, we have to get into spoilers. Going into its release, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t seemed to be missing two crucial ingredients. One was Lizzy Caplan, who took over for Isla Fisher on the second movie due to scheduling. The second was Mark Ruffalo, whose detective-turned-magic-leader has always been at the center of the action. Well, one of Now You See Me 3‘s first big tricks is bringing Caplan back mid-movie, and then, for its final reveal, Ruffalo returns too. Only, not how you’d expect. “The biggest challenge with Mark is his schedule,” Fleischer told Variety. “He’s a very busy guy, and so he was only able to be in the film because we did some reshoots this summer. He wasn’t originally available over the course of principal photography. He actually wasn’t even available during our reshoots, but I was lucky to catch him for a day in New York, and we shot him against a green screen. That’s why he’s a hologram, as opposed to entering into the scene. We took what we could get.” Yes, at the end of Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, Ruffalo’s character Dylan Rhodes, who the film explains early on is in jail, appears as a holographic message to the Horsemen and their new counterparts. He teases that all that’s happened is to The Eye’s liking (that’s the massive magic society he seems to run), but now this new group has more to do. Which, we assume, would be the plot of a fourth movie. How that tease would’ve happened if Ruffalo wasn’t available, we don’t know. But getting him to appear in the movie at all does feel like the final piece of the puzzle that keeps this installment as relevant as the rest. We hope they all come together again, and fast. Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, Morgan Freeman, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is now in theaters. Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe review: A welcome reunion with the homies

Here at Shacknews, I’ve talked about *Atelier* a few times. GUST and Koei Tecmo’s item synthesis and cozy vibes RPG series has had a lot of ups and downs over the past few decades.

If you’ve read my previous reviews, you might have a skewed perspective, as the most recent outing was a big down, and the one before was, excuse the cliché, a mixed bag. But dial the clock back just a bit more, and you have the current peak of Atelier mountain: Ryza. This time, we get to talk about Ryza. Banger, banger, banger.

### The Ryza Trilogy: A Rare Direct Sequel Success

Atelier games typically come in loose trilogies, usually tied together by a theme, a location, or—very rarely—an actual character. Ryza, which started in 2017 with *Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout*, ended up being a whole set of direct sequels, a rare move for this series.

That’s because Ryza was such a hit, especially thanks to the debuting Nintendo Switch that year and a craze for physical copies that were constantly selling out. The series broke containment in a way GUST didn’t seem to be expecting.

You can trace that success not only to how the series evolves in the Ryza trilogy, but also to how *Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout* was a massive expansion in scope. Its sequels maintained that momentum, capturing lightning in a bottle and nourishing it across two sequels in a way few series can—especially in a niche where resources are inherently limited.

### What Makes Ryza So Great?

It’s a little tough to quantify what’s so great about the Ryza series. A certain sect of the fanbase will say “thighs,” which is valid I guess, but there’s a lot more to it than that.

Ryza herself is a character with compelling energy in a series where most Atelier protagonists tend to be a little more quaint and low energy. Ryza is a go-getter who accidentally stumbles into alchemy as a side effect of a desperate want for adventure, and that’s a fun dynamic for a cozy game.

Meanwhile, the trilogy itself is an excellent use case for what a trilogy can be from a storytelling perspective. You can feel the passage of time—from how these characters’ lives develop, to their relationships with each other and even the spaces they live in.

It hits differently if you binge the trilogy rather than waiting the years between each release, but there’s still an emotional weight when, in the third game, you retrace your steps and reminisce about the past.

### Gameplay Evolution and Nostalgia

With how much the gameplay systems change and evolve across the trilogy, there’s a transformative wonder in how differently you interact with these spaces as well. It’s like going back home after moving away, mentally tracking how different everything is, and processing the emotions those differences stir.

It’s good stuff, on top of the usual Atelier fare such as grinding numbers, bopping cute enemies with a creative and evolving combat system, and growing from making weak, crappy items to synthesizing a cartoony-ass bomb that could probably level a building.

These are special games, and I’d suggest anyone who is into RPGs but has been unsure about where to start with Atelier to jump in right here. Just be prepared to keep chasing that high for now, as GUST is still figuring things out.

### What’s Deluxe About It, Then?

Another tradition in the world of *Atelier* is the DX branding. After a series wraps up, GUST returns to it later with a set of re-releases that make tweaks, add additional content, collect DLC for “free,” and let players snag a whole trilogy for an overall discount.

This was great for collectors too—especially for the growing Switch community at the time—because you could import physical copies of previous trilogies, getting a whole set of games on one cartridge that included English language options and all the additional extras.

Now it’s Ryza’s turn.

Like before, you can catch up on the Ryza trilogy if you missed it earlier, at a lower price point and with additional features such as new story content, new playable characters, secret bosses, and more. It’s a great deal and even a decent deal for Atelier fans willing to double dip.

### The Console Generation Crossover

What’s interesting here is the weird intersection of console generations that happened between the first Ryza and its sequels—and in Nintendo’s case, after as well.

Being a smaller developer in the grand scheme of things, GUST is known for fun, breezy, and beautiful games, but not necessarily for fidelity and performance at the top of the line. But the Ryza DX series came with a unique opportunity, especially for the first game.

### FPS Dreams, Shattered

*Atelier Ryza 1* runs beautifully on PlayStation 5. Having a classic *Atelier* game that looks this good and runs smoothly is a wonderful thing, and a great excuse to upgrade from the PS4 version without a doubt.

On the Switch 2, however, you’re capped at a locked 30 frames per second. The tradeoff is that it runs with more muscle in the lighting and reflection department than the original Switch version, and it’s clearly running at 1080p in handheld mode — all while maintaining that locked 30 fps without breaking a sweat.

So it looks amazing and doesn’t have those weird jitters the recent *Persona 3 Reload* port suffers from. But as a game with some hybridized real-time elements in its turn-based combat system, that frame rate on PlayStation looks *really* good.

Sadly, there’s no option to choose performance mode at the expense of some visual upgrades, considering the Switch 1 version is playable and runs at a smooth, locked 30 fps on Switch 2 as well.

### Performance on Ryza 2 and 3

Performance concerns are less significant for *Ryza 2* and *3*, which were already released on PS5 and were finicky there to begin with. For example, the PS5 version of *Ryza 2* can run at 60 fps in performance mode, but you have to manually limit the resolution output in the console UI to get there.

Having these run at a smooth 30 fps on Switch 2 is a welcome outcome—expecting 60 fps on Switch 2 would have been foolish.

Overall, it’s a strangely fun exercise in going back over history, tracking how things can change across hardware releases, managing expectations, and finding what to appreciate.

*Ryza 1* is the only bummer part, and even then it’s still an improvement.

### Looking Ahead

Hopefully as time goes on, we can have more stable expectations for Nintendo Switch 2 ports. As of now, it still feels like the Wild West.

And don’t get me started on the physical aspect—that’s a whole other issue and not as relevant to this review.

### Final Thoughts

Ultimately, the *Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe* series is a treat for fans and a brilliant new way for possible newcomers to jump into the best the Atelier series currently has to offer.

It’s a perfect way to try *Atelier* for the first time, especially since you don’t have to buy the whole trilogy upfront if you don’t want to. But it’s an excellent deal considering the new content and upgrades.

Even if the Switch 2 version isn’t the perfect edition I had in mind, it’s still a great chunk of RPG goodness for the new console.

Regardless of the platform, Ryza’s three-part adventure was a big deal the first time around for real reasons—and the DX version only serves as reinforcement.

### Availability

The *Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack* is available on November 13, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.

A Switch 2 code was provided by the publisher for this review.

General Hospital Spoilers: Tracy’s France Trip Cut Short, Drew Must Pay for Abandoning Ned in Crisis

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliot) trip to France may be cut short due to a family emergency unfolding back home. Fans can expect Tracy to vow that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) must pay for abandoning Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) during his time of crisis.

Decades ago, Tracy famously denied Edward Quartermaine (David Lewis) his medication after he faked a heart attack to test her. In a similar vein, Drew accused Ned of faking his own heart attack in GH’s November 10 episode, dismissing it as a classic Quartermaine stunt. However, Drew should have checked more carefully to see if Ned was truly in medical distress during their latest confrontation.

It was cruel of Drew to just walk away while Ned visibly struggled in pain, especially considering that Tracy was the one who found Drew after he was shot. Tracy showed compassion by calling 911 immediately, a move that saved Drew’s life that night. Now, when Tracy hears that Drew abandoned Ned in his time of need, she’s going to be absolutely livid.

No matter how many stunts Drew pulls, he always manages to hit a new low. Ned had mentioned that Tracy was off on a spa getaway in France, which was understandable given all the drama surrounding Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) will. Tracy deserved a chance to celebrate her victory regarding the house and take a breather from the chaos in Port Charles.

Of course, Tracy’s trip may come to an abrupt end once she learns about Ned’s ordeal. This could lead to her racing back home to check on Ned and plotting revenge against Drew. It’s easy to imagine Tracy confronting Drew and accusing him of knowingly walking away while Ned needed real medical assistance.

Tracy may also remind Drew of the night she saved his life and wish she could go back and undo it. Perhaps she will argue that she won’t make the mistake of showing Drew mercy again and promise that he will pay for his latest act of family disloyalty.

General Hospital spoilers indicate that Tracy and Drew will inevitably clash over this Ned mess, so stay tuned for their next intense faceoff.
