Blanket Informed Consent for Biologics Could Be Deadly. A Warning From Dr. Sherri Tenpenny

**Guest Post by Dr. Sherri TenPenny**

There’s a linguistic shift happening inside the walls of hospitals, surgical centers, and outpatient clinics—one that most people won’t notice until it’s too late. The word “vaccine” is vanishing from medical consent forms. In its place is a far broader, far murkier term being used: **biologics**.

### Let’s Clarify Some Definitions

**Biologics** refers specifically to a class of therapeutic drugs and medical products that are produced from living organisms or their components (e.g., made from proteins, organ cells, tissues, blood, tallow, gelatin, glycerol, etc.). Biologics are specifically regulated medical products that are made from or contain components of living organisms.

On the other hand, **biogenics** is a broader, more general term meaning produced by living organisms or biological processes. It could be anything made by a living organism—plants, animals, bacteria, fungi, etc.

**Examples of biogenics:**
– Tree resin (produced by plants)
– Coral or seashells (made by marine animals)
– Methane (from decaying organic matter)
– Alcohol (from yeast fermentation)

Therefore, all biological products are biogenic, but not all biogenic materials are biological products.

That means many new, modern medicines labeled “cutting-edge,” from mRNA injections to bioengineered cells, fall into the category of medically regulated biogenic products.

### The Redefinition of Medicine

At first glance, it may sound harmless. But buried in the word salad of admission paperwork is a seismic change you might be agreeing to without realizing it.

As a patient in a hospital, you could be injected, infused, or implanted with a biologic product you never specifically discussed with your treating physician—simply because the consent form used a broad term like “biologics” or “biogenics” and you didn’t fully understand the scope of that word.

It’s not that the hospital is secretly adding products; rather, the way the consent forms are worded gives them legal permission to use FDA-approved biologics or biologic materials when they are deemed medically necessary, without first discussing the pros and cons of the product.

You can view the full list of biologics on the FDA’s website. Vaccines are listed among the “approved biologics.” If you blindly sign a consent to receive a biologic, you’ve opened the door to a sweeping range of interventions that go far beyond what most would knowingly authorize.

### The Purpose and Erosion of Informed Consent

The purpose of requiring informed consent is to promote the autonomy of the individual in medical decision-making. It is a legal doctrine that supports many of our cherished American ideals about our rights as individuals.

For decades, medical care has been governed by the principle that patients must be fully informed, fully aware, and provide informed consent for every healthcare procedure. It was more than a legal requirement; it has long been an ethical cornerstone.

However, as PubMed’s 1996 article, *Legal and Ethical Myths About Informed Consent*, reminds us, even the foundation of informed consent came from a murky beginning. The phrase “informed consent” first appeared in a 1957 California case and was adopted verbatim, without attribution, from an amicus curiae brief submitted by the American College of Surgeons.

Over time, the standard for truly informed consent has quietly been eroded. In many hospitals and clinics, informed consent forms have become little more than a formality: a few checks in digital checkboxes and a scribbled signature on an iPad.

These consent forms are often buried within pages of fine print drafted by attorneys, intentionally dense and difficult to read. Even patients who try to understand the language find it nearly impossible to decipher.

Today, the forms no longer use plain language. Instead of asking, “Do you consent to receive the influenza vaccine or a COVID jab?”, the consent form may now ask if you consent to the use of **biologic agents**.

The assumption is that you, the patient, understand that vaccines are biological agents. This raises the question: **Is the confusing change in language intentional?**

### “Medically Necessary Biologics” – The Next Frontier

There is a push to categorize biologics as *medically necessary*. Once that phrase becomes standard, it reframes these products as non-optional. That’s a linguistic shift that carries enormous implications.

If something is medically necessary, then refusing it becomes extremely difficult.

Now imagine being prepped for surgery. You’re told you must sign a standard consent for “biologic products as necessary during the procedure.” You sign, thinking it refers to anesthesia, sutures, IV fluids, perhaps antibiotics.

But your body then becomes an open field for whatever the institution or your doctor regards as necessary: a flu shot, a pneumonia shot, a pertussis shot, a monoclonal antibody infusion, or plasma/blood (perhaps from a COVID-vaccinated donor).

You may never know what went into your body unless you ask for the record.

### What Do Biologics Include?

According to the FDA and Congressional Research Service documents, biologics encompass:

– Vaccines
– Monoclonal antibodies
– Gene therapy
– Whole blood and plasma
– Stem cells and T-cells
– Recombinant proteins
– Growth factors

The side effects of biologics vary depending on the specific product and how it is administered. Because these therapies are derived from living systems and often target the immune system, they can produce a wide range of reactions—from mild and localized to serious or life-threatening.

Examples of side effects include:

– Allergic or hypersensitivity reactions
– Injection site redness, swelling, or pain
– Infusion reactions such as flushing, shortness of breath, or a sudden drop in blood pressure
– Chills, weakness, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, itching, and high blood sugar
– More serious effects such as low blood pressure, anaphylaxis, serious infections, cancer, autoimmune reactions, blood clots, heart failure, bleeding disorders, and more

Each biologic drug has its own safety profile, and not all patients will experience these reactions. But because biologics act deeply within the body’s immune and cellular systems, their side effects can be complex, unpredictable, and sometimes severe.

These products are not something you should be given without knowing the risks!

### The Anesthesia Loophole

Anesthetized patients cannot give or withdraw consent in real-time. Hospitals know this, and legal teams have prepared for it.

That’s why pre-operative consent forms now carry generalized clauses authorizing “treatment using biologic materials.” The rationale sounds protective: “We need flexibility in case of complications.”

The reality is exploitative: “We can administer what we deem appropriate.”

Under this loophole, you could receive a biologic without your explicit approval. Once it’s in your body, it cannot be undone.

While this remains only a theoretical concern at this time, as AI increasingly takes over healthcare and personal options continue to be reduced, it is distinctly possible.

I found court cases where a patient received a biologic without specific consent. While I didn’t find a published U.S. case that squarely says: “Because of the single word biologics in a blanket consent, a sedated patient got a biologic they would have refused,” these cases demonstrate the core risk is real.

### What You Must Do

We are living in a time when words have become deceptive—from politics to healthcare. To protect yourself, you must re-establish your authority over your own body.

Here’s where to start:

– **Read every word.** Never sign a consent form that contains vague terms like “biologics,” “biogenics,” or “cell-based therapies” without a full explanation from your doctor(s).

– **Ask direct questions.** Ask out loud: “Does this include vaccines, gene therapies, or blood products?” Write their answers and whether you agree or disagree.

– **Refuse in writing.** On both digital and paper copies, clearly state: “I do not consent to the administration of vaccines, biologics, or other synthetic materials.”

– **Get a copy.** Always request a printed copy or photo of your signed form, especially if it was done on an iPad.

– **Have an advocate.** Assign a trusted person to reiterate your refusal verbally and in writing if you are incapacitated. If you don’t have a close friend or family member to help, hire someone from GraithCare.com—they are knowledgeable and worth every penny.

– **Document everything.** After discharge, review your medical record and confirm what was administered. Side effects or complications may not materialize for weeks or months.

This is not paranoia; this is precautionary and wise self-care. The same level of attention you’d give to a financial contract should apply even more importantly to your medical care.

### Bodily Autonomy Is a Spiritual Battle

At its heart, this is about sovereignty. The right to decide what enters your body—what merges with your cells—is not just a medical decision, it’s a moral and spiritual obligation.

Scripture says our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, not laboratories for untested technologies. To surrender consent to vague, corporate-crafted terms like “biologics” is to give the keys away to your own temple.

I believe every human being deserves the dignity of true informed consent—not coerced compliance through deceptive wording.

### Closing Thoughts

We are a litigious society, and physicians are always concerned and on the defensive about avoiding lawsuits.

The timeless advice from that 1996 article on how you can best be perceived and help your patient’s decision-making process:

*“Treat patients like people, act sensitively and compassionately, and most of all, talk to patients. Have a conversation, have several; remember that this is a process. In this process, you will gradually come to know your patient’s decision-making style. Furthermore, do not press patients to decide quickly. Do not make them think that you do not have time for them. Because if you do, regardless of how much information they are given, they are going to be angry, and another name for an angry patient is plaintiff.”*

So please, **before you sign anything:**

– Stop.
– Read.
– Ask.
– Refuse if you must.
– Line out what you don’t agree with, initial it, and date it.

Your signature implies permission.

Why Young Sheldon Season 7’s Final Joke Makes No Sense

The ending of *Young Sheldon* provided fans with a great deal of closure, but it also delivered a somewhat confusing and muddled final message. In many ways, it illustrates how the titular character, Sheldon Cooper—portrayed as an adult by Jim Parsons, reprising his role from *The Big Bang Theory*—continues to display a selfish disposition, despite supposedly embracing generosity in the finale of *The Big Bang Theory*.

The entire closing episode centers on Sheldon (played by Iain Armitage) needing to do something unselfish to comfort his mother, Mary (Zoe Perry), and offer her solace following the sudden death of his father. Even though he identifies as an atheist, Sheldon puts on a wetsuit and allows himself to be baptized. As he explains to his mother, he doesn’t believe in God, but he loves and believes in her.

However, in the present-day scenes, adult Sheldon appears reluctant to make any sacrifices when it comes to his own children. He prefers to spend time alone in his study, working on his memoir, rather than attending his son Leonard’s hockey game. Amy (Mayim Bialik) has to coax and gently nag him, pointing out that he hasn’t practiced what he preaches about self-sacrifice and discipline. Eventually, Sheldon agrees to go—and even wears the hockey team jersey after initially insisting he wouldn’t. Yet, one last jab throws his redemption into question.

As they head out the door in the series finale, Amy shares that their daughter wants to be an actor. Sheldon reacts with exasperation and annoyance, remarking, “I told you we never should’ve let Penny babysit,” clearly preparing to withhold his blessing from what he views as an unconventional career path.

While this final “joke” doesn’t quite align with the character arc of Sheldon moving from selfishness toward grace, it could be interpreted as Sheldon unknowingly mirroring his own father’s reaction to his early intellectual pursuits. George Cooper Sr. (Lance Barber) was proud of his son but initially saw Sheldon as an outlier among the Coopers because he wasn’t athletically gifted like the rest of the family. Though Sheldon eventually earns his father’s praise and attention, it took considerable time for that acceptance to develop.

Fans are left wondering if Sheldon and Amy’s daughter will receive the same grace for pursuing her dreams. Given the ambiguity surrounding Sheldon’s character development, her future remains uncertain—and viewers can only guess what lies ahead for her.

Gov. JB Pritzker says he’s still deciding whether ‘right-to-die’ legislation should become Illinois law

Governor JB Pritzker on Monday said he is still deciding whether to sign legislation that would allow doctors to help terminally ill individuals end their lives. The bill narrowly passed the Illinois General Assembly last week.

“It was something that I didn’t expect and didn’t know it was going to be voted on, so we’re examining it even now,” Pritzker said.

The Democratic-run state Senate voted just before dawn on Friday, passing the measure with the bare minimum of 30 votes. The bill grants mentally competent, terminally ill adults the right to access life-ending prescription medication under physician supervision. Following the vote, the bill was sent to the governor’s desk for approval.

However, the legislation has faced opposition from disability advocates and the Catholic Church. Critics argue that it could lead to discrimination, coercion, and abuse.

Pritzker, who is running for a third term next year and is widely considered a potential contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, said on Monday that he is still gathering input on the controversial bill. He has already heard from many advocates supporting the legislation.

Speaking to reporters at an unrelated event at the Philip J. Rock Center and School in Glen Ellyn, which serves deaf-blind children, Pritzker acknowledged the arguments made by proponents but remained noncommittal about whether he will sign the bill into law.

Lakers’ Underrated $12M Wing Credits Anthony Edwards for “Who’s Number 12” Fame Amid Growing Fan Support

The wing has gained notoriety in recent games, especially after Anthony Edwards’ “Who’s Number 12” jab on Wednesday. During the game, Edwards jokingly replied, “That’s what I’m asking. I don’t know.”

In a post-game conference on Sunday, the wing credited Edwards for his newfound fame. “I kinda put my hands up like this, and I kinda agree with him like, ‘who’s number 12?’ I kinda played into it a little bit. I find that kind of stuff funny ‘cause I am not well known at this moment, so I’ll just, you know, head down, working hard, that’s all I do. Shoutout Anthony Edwards for allowing that clip to go viral,” he expressed.

His performance helped the Lakers secure a close 116-115 win as they bounced back from a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Since then, the Lakers have won three straight games, climbing to third in the Western Conference standings.

The forward joined the Lakers during free agency after spending the end of last season with the Sacramento Kings. He’s currently averaging 12.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while shooting 60.0% from the field.

He has been one of the Lakers’ most efficient scorers, maintaining a 60.0% field goal percentage and 50.0% accuracy from three-point range. Though his shooting percentage dipped in the following two games, he bounced back with a 90% performance against the Timberwolves, followed by 62.5% and 76.9% showings against the Grizzlies and Heat, respectively.

The forward had another impressive game against the Trail Blazers on Monday, shooting 50% from the field and impressing fans through his consistent shooting display.

What does ‘REDSEC’ stand for?

REDSEC is a new, free-to-play version of Battlefield 6 that introduces players to the series’ take on a battle royale. Players can dive into duos and quads, and even a tournament-style Gauntlet mode. While there is a lot to learn about all these modes, one question stands out for all players: What does REDSEC stand for?

What does REDSEC stand for?

REDSEC stands for Redacted Sector. This term essentially means an area that has been struck from the record or is completely off-limits. This makes sense given that Battlefield 6: REDSEC is about dropping into a hostile area, grabbing loot, completing missions, and getting out as the last surviving team.

Furthermore, the area in REDSEC is being swallowed by the NXC fire that the PAX Armata had their hands on during the Battlefield 6 campaign. In a way, the entire area (sector) is being firewalled, or redacted, tying back to the meaning of REDSEC.

Solo Leveling season 3 has yet to be announced, but anime fans are hopeful following a cryptic tweet from one of its producers: “I know what the world is waiting for”

It’s been eight months since anime fans were treated to new episodes of *Solo Leveling*, and it’s safe to say they’ve been itching for more the entire time. Now, their hopes for a *Solo Leveling* Season 3 have been reignited, thanks to a cryptic tweet from the show’s animation producer.

On November 2, Atsushi Kaneko took to Twitter to share a meme featuring Pepe the Frog (created by @HirenCloud). In the image, Pepe holds a cup of coffee and a flag with Kaneko’s illustrated avatar on it. If you look closely, you’ll notice the phrase “Great fOOkin’ happy news” hidden three times within the meme. Additionally, Pepe has bandages on his face—much like how Sung Jinwoo sometimes looked when he was younger. Check it out below.

One excited follower responded, “OK!! SL FANS WILL KEEP WAITING FOR THE GREAT FOOKIN NEWS!!” Another added, “We will wait for the Greatful Fookin’ news, we trust you sir. We will wait because we trust in you and we know you will make it better than season 2.” A third fan praised the second season, saying, “*Solo Leveling* Season 2 was phenomenal.”

*Solo Leveling* Season 2 was released between January and March 2025. It picked up exactly where the first season left off, with Jinwoo embracing his new role as the superpowered Shadow Monarch. Initially, he vows to keep his newfound abilities under wraps, but secrecy proves tricky when a strange hunter—who has been lost for nearly ten years—shares a prophecy of an impending catastrophe with Jinwoo.

*Solo Leveling* is based on Chugong’s South Korean web novel of the same name. The anime adaptation was directed by Shunsuke Nakashige and written by Noboru Kimura. Both Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Crunchyroll.

Anti-CZ whale racks up more than $21M in unrealized gains after shorting $ASTER

On-chain whale trader dubbed “Anti-CZ” by the crypto community has amassed over $21 million in unrealized profit from shorting the ASTER token, according to a Tuesday report from market tracker Lookonchain.

The decentralized exchange (DEX) token ASTER surged after Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) publicly revealed he had purchased it 48 hours prior. However, the pseudonymous trader behind the wallet address 0x9eec placed a massive short position on ASTER through the decentralized derivatives exchange Hyperliquid shortly after CZ’s announcement.

The timing was critical: the bet came just minutes after CZ disclosed buying roughly 2 million ASTER tokens on Sunday, an announcement that caused the token’s price to jump about 20%. Lookonchain flagged the trader’s activity following CZ’s post, noting the whale held ASTER tokens worth $52.8 million at the time, with a liquidation price near $2.091.

### Dual Wallet Strategy and Leveraged Shorts

The trader reportedly operates two separate wallets, both carrying active leveraged short positions on ASTER, as well as DOGE, ETH, XRP, and kPEPE. This data was observed through Hyperliquid’s dashboard and reviewed by Cryptopolitan.

Combined, these two wallets now show over $21 million in unrealized profit from ASTER shorts alone, with nearly $100 million in total unrealized gains across all open positions.

### ASTER Shorts Breakdown: Over $36M in Positions, $15.8M+ in Profits

Based on Hyperscan updates:

– The first wallet holds a $36.07 million short position on ASTER at 3x leverage, opened at an average entry price of $1.2083. With ASTER’s market price currently sliding to $0.8371, this position is up by $15.84 million — a 131.7% profit.

– The second, smaller ASTER short sits in another wallet with a $12.84 million position at an average entry price of $1.1625. This trade shows $4.95 million in unrealized profit, a 115.7% return on investment (ROI).

The liquidation price for this smaller position stands at $2.2324, well above current prices, indicating minimal liquidation risk unless ASTER experiences an unexpected price spike.

### Profitable Shorts on Other Altcoins

The trader’s Hyperliquid portfolio also includes sizable leveraged short bets on other meme coins and altcoins:

– DOGE shorts total $25.2 million at 5x leverage, entered at $0.2075. With DOGE now trading near $0.1618, these positions have gained over $7 million.

– A $11.8 million short position on kPEPE, also at 5x leverage, has returned more than $5.09 million — a 215.7% unrealized gain. The liquidation price sits comfortably above at $0.0353.

### CZ’s Endorsement Sparks ASTER Volatility

As previously reported by Cryptopolitan late Sunday, ASTER’s price volatility accelerated following CZ’s endorsement on X (formerly Twitter), where he announced purchasing 2 million tokens. This spurred traders to jump on the bullish bandwagon, driving ASTER’s price to a peak of $1.30.

However, once the initial hype and social media chatter subsided, ASTER’s price plunged nearly 30% within a day, wiping out the “CZ pump” gains and pushing the token back below $1 into bearish territory.

“Hyperliquid fans have been bashing CZ for shilling ASTER right on X,” said one community member, noting how quickly the rally reversed. “If you jumped on ASTER the second CZ shilled it, congrats, you’re officially in the red. This ain’t shade at anyone.”

### Technical Outlook: Key Levels to Watch

On the daily chart, ASTER slipped below the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement level at $0.94 — a critical threshold that could signal whether the correction deepens into a full reversal.

Crypto trader Ardi Altcoin commented in a Telegram update: “The focus isn’t on chasing upside for now, because bulls are fighting to preserve structure. Dropping down below $0.85-$0.90 would hand control entirely to bears and change the short-term trend to decisively bearish.”

To regain positive momentum, ASTER bulls would need to reclaim the 61.8% Fibonacci level at $1.01, which could set the stage for a move back above $1.30, Ardi added.

**What Does REDSEC Stand For?**

This concept aligns perfectly with Battlefield 6: REDSEC, where players drop into a hostile zone, grab loot, complete missions, and aim to be the last surviving team.

Additionally, the area within REDSEC is being consumed by the NXC fire, a destructive force linked to the PAX Armata, featured prominently during the Battlefield 6 campaign. In this way, the entire sector is effectively being “firewalled” or redacted, enhancing the high-stakes, intense atmosphere of the gameplay.

Overall, REDSEC offers a thrilling new way to experience Battlefield 6’s battle royale action within a mysterious and dangerous environment.
