Your Phone’s Fingerprint Coating Is Slowly Destroying Itself

We all love our phones and are probably more addicted to them than we realize. Did you know the average person unlocks their phone around 100-150 times a day and taps the screen over 2,600 times daily? We use these little pocket computers for everything, which is why your oleophobic coating is slowly but surely getting destroyed.

## What Is the Oleophobic Coating on Phone Screens?

Given how much you interact with your phone’s screen throughout the day, it’s bound to start showing signs of wear. So, what is this secret coating I’m talking about? It’s called an **oleophobic coating**, something you may or may not have heard of before.

The oleophobic coating is a durable polymer layer designed to help repel fingerprint oils and smudges on your screen. It’s how your phone display can look clean most of the time, even after constant tapping. This coating prevents oils from sticking to the screen. The word “oleophobic” literally means “oil” and “fear” — it’s afraid of oil!

Most smartphones these days come with this special coating. Without it, our phones would look grimy, collect dirt and dust more easily, and interacting with their sleek screens wouldn’t be as enjoyable.

If you’ve noticed that your phone’s screen is always dirty, greasy, and no longer as clean and smooth as when you first bought it, this is why. It’s the oleophobic coating slowly disappearing. In fact, that’s usually the first indicator that your coating is wearing away or has deteriorated over time.

## Excessively Cleaning Your Screen Could Make Things Worse

I’m a bit of a clean freak and constantly clean the screen on my phone—whether using my T-shirt to rub away fingerprints or buying little “screen cleaning” kits on Amazon. Well, I was, until I realized that *I’m actually the problem*.

Constantly cleaning the screen of my old Galaxy S21 Ultra ruined the oleophobic coating in less than a year of ownership. After that, it was constantly dirty and greasy.

There are several ways to keep your screen smooth and clean, but excessively cleaning your phone’s display, especially with harsh chemicals, won’t do you any favors.

Years ago, we went down a rabbit hole exploring whether cleaning a phone’s display would damage this special coating. Interestingly, Apple’s official advice suggests using a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe, 75% ethyl alcohol wipe, or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to clean the **exterior surfaces** of the phone—but it doesn’t specifically mention the screen.

Samsung recommends something similar, but again, their support pages don’t mention the screen itself or the oleophobic coating.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to use Clorox wipes on my expensive flagship smartphone.

Since then, I’ve learned to avoid the habit of constantly cleaning my display multiple times a day. Instead, I do it occasionally when the screen looks particularly dirty, using a microfiber cloth. If it’s really dirty, a drop of water is usually enough to clean it.

That said, it’s a hard habit to break. I still find myself wiping the screen with my shirt almost daily, which I’m sure is slowly destroying the oleophobic coating. Are you doing it too?

## Screen Protectors and Restoring the Oleophobic Coating

Thankfully, there are ways to avoid this problem.

The first and most common solution is to get a **screen protector**. You’ll never ruin the oleophobic coating if it’s always covered by a screen protector—many of which have a similar oleophobic coating themselves.

Once that coating starts to disappear and your phone looks grimy, simply replace your cheap tempered glass screen protector. The new one will feel fresh, clean, and smooth again.

If you’re reading this too late and you’ve cleaned your screen hundreds of times over the last few months, don’t worry.

First, clean your screen thoroughly, then install a screen protector and start fresh with a smooth display. Additionally, you can try **DIY oleophobic coating kits**. Yes, they’re real!

These kits allow you to apply a similar oleophobic polymer coating to your phone. The idea is to mimic the original coating that repels water, oily fingerprints, and other dirt.

I’ve tried a few kits, which usually include a cleaning wipe, an applicator, and the coating itself. You apply the coating evenly around the screen (careful not to get any inside the earpiece speaker), then let it dry. Some kits recommend applying a second coat afterward.

Just know your mileage may vary. Although these kits can improve the situation, they won’t match the quality of the original factory coating. It won’t completely stop fingerprints and oils, nor will it last as long as the original.

## It’s Inevitable—But You Can Slow It Down

So, what can you do to stop your phone’s oleophobic coating from wearing out?

– Avoid using harsh chemicals on the screen.
– Resist wiping fingerprints away constantly—you’re inadvertently removing the coating.
– Use a screen protector to protect the original coating.
– Clean the screen gently and occasionally, using a microfiber cloth and water if needed.

Ultimately, there isn’t much anyone can do to completely prevent oleophobic coating wear. With daily use, your fingers will slowly wear down the coating on your phone, tablet, and other touchscreen devices.

Given how much we interact with these gadgets every day, it’s only a matter of time before your oleophobic coating starts to disappear too. But by caring for your screen properly, you can prolong its clean, smooth feel for as long as possible.

Millie Bobby Brown Recounts Her Odd (But Logical In Retrospect) Stranger Things Audition

The countdown for Eleven’s final chapter is officially underway, and expectations are soaring for Season 5 of *Stranger Things*. The series is set to return on Wednesday, November 26, marking the beginning of the end for the beloved show. After nearly a decade, series star Millie Bobby Brown and her demogorgon-destroying friends will finally close the door on the Upside Down.

This monumental moment is significant for everyone involved, and it recently prompted Brown to reflect nostalgically on how it all began. In an interview with *Empire*, she recalled her first audition for Eleven, the character that would come to define much of her life.

“It must have been June or July [2015] when I screen-tested,” Brown said. “They flew me from London to L.A., and my seat number on the flight was 11. Then the floor of the hotel I was staying in was 11. It felt like a sign.”

During that first audition, Millie Bobby Brown was welcomed by producer Shawn Levy along with series creators Matt and Ross Duffer. “They gave me a cardboard box of clothes and were like, ‘Do whatever you feel like with this box of clothes but try to imagine that you don’t know what clothes are. You’ve never been exposed to them,’” she explained.

Brown was understandably puzzled by the unusual exercise and unsure where it would lead. “I was like, ‘What the hell is this weird acting exercise?!’ I didn’t know that was the character. I didn’t know anything about Eleven. I didn’t even know she had powers,” she admitted.

The Duffer Brothers didn’t take long to decide if Brown was the right fit for the lead role. By the next day, they made the life-changing call. “They said, ‘Millie, would you like to be our Eleven?’ and I just fell on the floor,” she recalled. “Then two or three months later, we moved to Atlanta and my hair was gone.”

Now, fans only have to wait and see what unfolds as *Stranger Things* draws to a close. Volume 1 of Season 5 will be released on November 26, followed by Volume 2 on December 25, with the finale premiering in theaters on December 31.

The journey of Eleven and her friends is nearing its thrilling conclusion — and the excitement couldn’t be higher.

Trump Tariffs on Trial: What’s at Stake in Supreme Court Landmark Case

The Supreme Court is currently hearing arguments regarding President Trump’s authority to impose tariffs under a statute that grants the president “emergency” powers.

Jennifer Hillman of the Council on Foreign Relations explains that this case tests the Constitution’s allocation of trade powers to Congress. If the Court strikes down the tariffs, it could lead to up to $100 billion in tariff refunds.

Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers describes tariffs as a “self-inflicted supply shock” that raises prices and slows economic growth.

Pepe Coin Price Prediction: JPMorgan’s $170K Bitcoin Forecast Started Crypto Rally, DeepSnitch AI, and DeAgentAI to 100x

**JPMorgan’s $170K Bitcoin Target Signals Massive Crypto Upside: What It Means for Traders, Pepe Coin, DeepSnitch AI, and DeAgentAI**

JPMorgan Chase, one of the world’s largest banks, has made a bold call: Bitcoin could soar to $170,000 within the next 6 to 12 months. This isn’t just any announcement—when a $3.4 trillion bank puts this kind of target on Bitcoin, it signals that big institutions are starting to take crypto seriously. This could mean a significant influx of traditional finance money into the crypto market.

### DeepSnitch AI Presale: Viral Utility & 100x Potential

DeepSnitch AI is currently making waves in the crypto community for its utility and massive growth potential. The presale token is priced at just $0.022 and offers five unique AI tools. These tools allow everyday traders to access internal market insights delivered directly to their X (formerly Twitter) or Telegram accounts.

### Why JPMorgan’s $170K Bitcoin Target Could Change Everything

Bitcoin’s market cap is currently $2.1 trillion. By comparison, gold investments through ETFs, bars, and coins held in the private sector total about $6.2 trillion. According to JPMorgan, Bitcoin is about 1.8 times more volatile than gold. To match gold on a risk-adjusted level, Bitcoin would need to rise roughly 67%, placing it right at the $170,000 mark.

JPMorgan strategist Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou notes that the recent Bitcoin futures wipeout in October was actually healthy for the market. The liquidations cleared out excess leverage, giving Bitcoin a clean slate for another move higher.

When a major bank like JPMorgan sets such a high target, big players take notice—hedge funds, family offices, and pensions may begin to enter the space. These institutions don’t invest in random meme coins; instead, they look for strong projects with real utility and fundamentals.

### DeepSnitch AI (DSNT): Leveling the Playing Field for Crypto Traders

With big money poised to re-enter crypto, retail traders often feel outmatched. Institutions use advanced tools to track whale wallets, analyze social sentiment, and spot trading patterns in real time—services that can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

DeepSnitch AI aims to democratize these insights. The platform tracks whale wallet activity, checks token safety, analyzes market sentiment, and sends actionable alerts straight to your Telegram or X account. DeepSnitch’s token (SNT) is currently in presale at $0.022, up 45% from its starting price of $0.0151. The project has raised over $500,000 so far and is fully audited by SolidProof and Coinsult with zero major issues.

DeepSnitch also offers staking rewards, allowing early investors to earn passive income before the project officially launches. The platform is designed for simplicity and clarity, making advanced market data accessible without technical jargon or complex charts.

In a space where the big players have an edge, DeepSnitch AI is offering everyday traders a genuine opportunity to compete.

### PEPE Price Prediction for 2025-2026

Pepe Coin is trading around $0.000005655 as of early November after a volatile few weeks, falling 38% in October. Despite these swings, PEPE remains one of the largest meme coins, trailing only Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.

With a market cap of approximately $2.3 billion and substantial daily trading volume, PEPE shows strong resilience. Historically, it has bounced back quickly when hype returns.

Looking ahead, if meme coins remain popular into 2026, analysts expect PEPE could trade between $0.0000047 and $0.0000098. However, these forecasts depend heavily on ongoing crypto market trends and social media momentum. If interest in meme coins wanes, PEPE’s price could drop just as quickly as it rises.

### DeAgentAI (AIA) Surges 1004% in 1 Week

DeAgentAI (AIA) just achieved one of 2025’s biggest rallies, soaring over 722% in a single day and a staggering 1004% in one week. At its peak, AIA hit $22, raising its market cap to $2.7 billion.

The surge followed DeAgentAI’s announcement of a partnership with Pieverse, a blockchain project focused on verified on-chain invoices and timestamped receipts. Through this integration, DeAgentAI’s smart agent now works with Pieverse’s network for secure, automatically processed invoice data, all recorded on the blockchain.

If you’re considering an investment, keep in mind: AIA is a high-risk, high-reward token. It trades independently of Bitcoin and is highly volatile. The price could drop if hype fades, but successful adoption could drive the token toward $30 or more.

### Conclusion

JPMorgan’s $170,000 Bitcoin prediction highlights the growing credibility of crypto among institutional investors. AI and meme coins are leading this cycle—and DeepSnitch AI (DSNT) is positioned at the intersection of both sectors. The token is already up 45% from its launch price, with the presale gaining momentum.

Michelle Obama’s confession about former life inside the ‘heart’ of the White House

**Michelle Obama Reflects on Life in the White House and the Significance of the East Wing**

Former First Lady Michelle Obama recently shared her reflections on living in the White House during her husband Barack Obama’s presidency from 2009 to 2017. In an interview with *The Late Show with Stephen Colbert*, the author and activist opened up about her experiences, particularly her fondness for the East Wing where her office was located.

During the interview, Michelle described the East Wing as a place filled with light and positivity—a refuge from the often intense environment of the West Wing. She explained, “That’s where life happened.” While the West Wing was the center of work, challenges, and hard decisions, the East Wing was where everyone could recharge. “That’s where children came, we had puppies and literally apples,” she said, emphasizing how important it was for the staff to have a space that reminded them of the reasons behind their efforts.

Michelle also shared insights into what it felt like moving into the iconic presidential residence with her family. “What I will remind people is that house is not our house. We never viewed it as our house. We were there for a time; we had a job to do,” she noted. “We always felt it was the people’s house.” She spoke about the responsibility each administration has to maintain and improve the historic building, respecting its legacy. “There was a whole standard of norms and rules that we followed to a tee, that we painstakingly tried to uphold because it was bigger than us,” Michelle added.

She emphasized the shared ownership of the space, saying, “That East Wing, that’s not my feelings about that, it’s not mine. It is ours.”

### When Did Michelle Obama Live in the White House?

Michelle Obama and her family moved into the White House in January 2009 after Barack Obama made history as the first African American president of the United States. The Obamas lived there throughout Barack Obama’s two terms as president, finally moving out on January 20, 2017. He was succeeded by Donald Trump, who won the 2016 presidential election against Hillary Clinton.

UPS Grounds Planes After Deadly Crash

**UPS Temporarily Grounds Part of Its Air Fleet Following Deadly Cargo Plane Crash in Kentucky**

UPS has temporarily grounded a portion of its air fleet after a tragic crash involving one of its cargo planes resulted in the deaths of at least 14 people in Kentucky. The decision impacts approximately 9 percent of the company’s aircraft.

“Out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of safety, we have made the decision to temporarily ground our MD-11 fleet. MD-11s are approximately 9% of the UPS Airlines fleet,” the company said in an official statement.

The grounding is effective immediately. UPS added, “We made this decision proactively at the recommendation of the aircraft manufacturer. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our employees and the communities we serve. Contingency plans are in place to ensure we can continue to deliver the reliable service our customers around the world count on.”

### Why It Matters

This grounding highlights the fragility of the U.S. supply chain as the country heads into the busy holiday season. UPS is one of the nation’s largest air cargo carriers, and any disruption to its operations could delay deliveries and impact businesses that depend on rapid shipping.

### Crash Details

On Tuesday, UPS Airlines Flight 2976, an MD-11 aircraft, crashed shortly after takeoff from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Kentucky. The flight was bound for Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, Hawaii.

At least 14 people lost their lives in the crash, including pilots Captain Richard Wartenberg, First Officer Lee Truitt, and International Relief Officer Captain Dana Diamond.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. local time with three crew members onboard. Moments after takeoff, the plane’s left wing reportedly caught fire and an engine detached, causing the wide-body freighter to crash to the ground and erupt into a massive fireball.

### Industry Response and Investigation

In response to the accident, rival FedEx also grounded its fleet of 28 MD-11 planes as a precautionary measure.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the aircraft’s maintenance history. Notably, the jet had recently undergone repairs in Texas. Early NTSB findings suggest that the engine—not the wing—detached mid-flight, though the exact cause of the crash remains under review.

### Legal Actions Filed

The day following the crash, a class-action lawsuit was filed against UPS, Boeing, and General Electric. The lawsuit alleges that the companies’ “recklessness” led to the tragedy.

According to the complaint, filed by local resident Shakeara Ware, auto shop Triple D, Inc., and property owner Ensey LLC, the defendants’ actions have caused “trauma, fear and uncertainty” among plaintiffs and many Kentuckians. The suit seeks damages for emotional distress, business interruption, revenue losses, lost wages, and property damage.

The lawsuit also criticizes the MD-11 aircraft model and its CF-6 engines, citing a troubling safety history. It alleges that the plane has been linked to multiple catastrophic failures and ranks among the least reliable commercial aircraft still in service.

The complaint references previous MD-11 crashes, including a 2009 FedEx disaster in Tokyo, along with several CF-6 engine-related accidents over the decades. It suggests that similar mechanical defects “caused or contributed” to the Louisville crash.

### Ongoing Investigations

No definitive conclusions have been reached regarding the cause of the crash. Investigations and analysis by the NTSB and other authorities are ongoing.

UPS and related parties have vowed full cooperation with investigators as efforts continue to uncover what led to this devastating event.
