Key Highlights From The Two-Day Luxury Innovation Summit 2025 Held In Geneva

The seventh edition of the Luxury Innovation Summit took place in Geneva on September 1-2, 2025, once again proving why it’s the premier platform for leaders to explore the future of the luxury industry. This summit brought together global experts to discuss the forces transforming luxury—from AI and digital identity to circular models and market expansion in Asia.

“AI, sustainability, and circular business models are no longer side topics,” said Deependra Pandey, Founder & CEO of Luxury Venture Group. “They are the main drivers of transformation in luxury today.”

### Looking Ahead: Mumbai 2026

As the industry shifts gears toward new growth markets, the Summit’s next edition will take place in Mumbai in March 2026. The event will bring together global luxury leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors for high-impact dialogue and collaboration in one of the world’s most dynamic economies.

In parallel, Luxury Venture Group will lead an International Business Delegation to India, connecting global brands and SMEs with India’s fast-growing luxury market through discovery visits, private B2B matchmaking, cultural immersion, and exclusive Summit access.

“India is now at the centre of luxury’s future,” said Pandey. “Rising demand, cultural richness, and the upcoming EFTA–India trade deal are creating unprecedented opportunities. For global luxury brands, India is no longer an optional market—it’s a strategic priority.”

### AI and Digital Experiences

AI is driving a new era of hyper-personalised luxury. Companies like Nestlé and New Relic showcased how real-time data, predictive analytics, and spatial computing are reshaping premium retail. Sessions also explored the future of blockchain, digital identity, and emotional engagement through immersive technologies.

### Sustainable Luxury

Sustainability and circularity are now at the heart of luxury business models. Platforms such as eBay, Bunjang, and Certilogo highlighted how technology can extend product lifecycles and build consumer trust. Re-commerce is not just a trend, it’s a core strategy.

### Women Lead the Way

With the global ‘Great Wealth Transfer’ (estimated $30 trillion in the US alone), women are shaping consumption, innovation, and sustainability in the luxury industry. A panel led by 100 Women @ Davos revealed how women consumers and leaders are influencing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities and digital transformation.

### India: New Growth Frontier

India’s accelerating appetite for luxury, spanning watches, jewellery, fashion, hospitality, and travel, was the focus of a dedicated masterclass. Speakers emphasised how cultural events like weddings and festivals, along with trade policy shifts, growth in e-commerce, and strong demand from smaller cities, are driving luxury consumption and long-term investment opportunities.

### Innovation Is the Key

A surge in funding is flowing into startups focused on sustainability, AI, and next-gen craftsmanship. The Luxury Innovation Awards showcased promising early-stage ventures redefining what luxury means for the next generation of consumers.

Addressing the flood problem effectively

MANILA, Philippines —

Effectively addressing the flood problem requires much more than just decreasing corruption. While tackling corruption is important, it is equally vital to address the root causes of floods to create lasting solutions.

Currently, most of the attention is focused on corruption. However, we need to adopt a much broader perspective and consider the whole picture. This comprehensive approach should include both remedial and preventive measures to truly mitigate the impact of flooding.

Trump Says Ilhan Omar Committed Immigration Fraud, Raising Possibility of New Probe

President Trump went on the attack again, this time targeting Minnesota’s far-left Democrat Ilhan Omar. Earlier this week, Omar was nearly removed from her committee assignments following a contentious incident involving her harsh criticism of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk over alleged immigration fraud.

More provocatively, Trump publicly questioned whether Omar has connections to the eight defendants charged in a brazen Medicaid fraud scheme out of Minnesota. This raises the possibility that the FBI might resume or continue an investigation into Omar’s activities—an inquiry that first surfaced five years ago when reports revealed she had allegedly married her brother to commit immigration fraud. Whether the investigation will be reactivated remains unclear.

Trump voiced his accusations on Truth Social, following a narrow 214-213 vote where four renegade Republicans joined Democrats in keeping Omar on all her committees. This vote tabled a motion put forward by GOP Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina, which sought to punish the congresswoman.

The motion cited an interview Omar conducted with far-left journalist Mehdi Hasan, along with a controversial video targeting Charlie Kirk. The video viciously labeled Kirk as reprehensible, a stochastic terrorist, an adamant transphobe, and accused him of believing in the subjugation of women. It went as far as dramatizing Kirk as “Doctor Frankenstein,” with his monster metaphorically shooting him in the neck, according to the video’s narrative.

Unrelenting, Trump fired back the following day with a scathing post on Truth Social:

“Ilhan Omar’s country of Somalia is plagued by a lack of central government control, persistent poverty, hunger, resurgent terrorism, piracy, decades of civil war, corruption, and pervasive violence. Seventy percent of the population lives in extreme poverty with widespread food insecurity. Somalia is consistently ranked among the world’s most corrupt countries, including bribery, embezzlement, and a dysfunctional government. All of this, and Ilhan Omar tells us how to run America! P.S. Wasn’t she the one who married her brother in order to gain citizenship??? What SCUM we have in our country telling us what to do and how to do it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

But Trump didn’t stop there. Responding to a post from Libs of TikTok that highlighted the Medicaid fraud charges, Trump posed a pointed question: “Does Ilhan Omar know these people? Are they from her wonderfully managed home country of Somalia?”

U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson weighed in on the Medicaid fraud investigation, stating, “The level of fraud in these programs is staggering. These programs have been abused over and over to the point where fraud has overtaken the legitimate services.”

### Omar’s Controversial Marriage and Immigration Fraud Allegations

The immigration fraud allegations against Omar stem from her controversial marriage history. As reported by *The New American* in February 2020, Omar reportedly married her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, who is a British subject. Abdihakim Osman, a Somali community leader in Minneapolis, confirmed the marriage and told the *Daily Mail* that Omar admitted she would do whatever necessary to obtain legal papers to keep Elmi in the U.S. Osman added that Omar explained she needed those papers to allow her brother to attend school.

These facts suggest that Omar, who denies the marriage was consanguineous, may have committed not only immigration fraud but potentially student loan fraud as well—raising further suspicions for those scrutinizing her past.

In January 2020, the *New York Post* reported that two FBI agents conducted an hours-long meeting in Minnesota with a concerned party who handed over a trove of documents regarding Omar’s 2009 marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Despite this lead, no public action apparently resulted from the investigation, which critics argue the Biden administration may have suppressed.

Now, the pressing question is whether former President Trump will direct the FBI to reopen the case. If he does, Ilhan Omar could face far more serious consequences than simply losing committee assignments.

EXCLUSIVE: Arnold Schwarzenegger ‘Desperate’ to Run for President to ‘Restore America’ as Trump ‘Bulldozes Democracy’

**Arnold Schwarzenegger Privately Exploring 2028 Presidential Run Despite Constitutional Barriers**

*Published September 19, 2025, 6:45 p.m. ET*

Arnold Schwarzenegger is privately exploring ways to run for the U.S. presidency, despite constitutional barriers, in what allies describe as a desperate attempt to stop Donald Trump and “restore democracy,” RadarOnline.com can reveal.

The 78-year-old Terminator star and former Republican governor of California has become increasingly vocal about his fears for America’s future following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, 31, in Utah.

**President Schwarzenegger?**

Friends of Schwarzenegger say the murder has sharpened his determination to confront political violence and address the deep divisions tearing the country apart — divisions he blames on both parties, the media, and Trump himself.

Speaking at the University of Southern California, Schwarzenegger warned:
*”We have to be very careful that we don’t get closer to the cliff. Because when you fall down that cliff, down there, there is no democracy. We have to be very, very careful. I think it’s very important that we turn this around and that we show people power. Because the people can turn this around, the people have the ultimate power.”*

One longtime Republican strategist revealed:
*”Arnold has been telling people close to him that he can’t just sit back and watch Trump bulldoze democracy. He knows the Constitution bars him from running for the presidency, but he’s desperate to find a path — whether that’s lobbying for reform or using his star power to rally voters against Trump.”*

**Reflecting on Charlie Kirk’s Death**

Schwarzenegger described Kirk’s death as “unbelievable” and a chilling sign of how far the nation has fallen.
*”I was very, very upset that someone’s life was taken because they have a different opinion,”* he said.
*”This was a great communicator, a great advocate for the right, for Republican causes. He had such a great way of communicating with the students who agreed or disagreed with him. And he was a great father, a great husband. I was thinking about his children. They will only be reading about him now, instead of him reading to them bedtime stories.”*

The gunman suspect, Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged with aggravated murder. Schwarzenegger linked the killing to toxic divisions fueled online and in politics.

**Blaming Social Media, Media, and Politics**

*”We have to acknowledge that the cause of all this is the social media companies that are dividing us, the mainstream media companies that are dividing us. The political parties: the Democrats that are dividing us, the Republicans that are dividing us,”* Schwarzenegger added.
*”We’re getting hit from so many different angles, and we have to be very careful that we don’t get closer to that cliff.”*

**Trump’s Response to Rising Tensions**

Donald Trump, 79, dismissed concerns about rising tensions in the wake of Kirk’s killing during an appearance on *Fox & Friends*, stating:
*”I tell you something that is going to get me in trouble, but I couldn’t care less. The radicals on the right are radical because they don’t want to see crime. The radicals on the left are the problem – and they are vicious and horrible and politically savvy. They want men in women’s sports, they want transgender for everyone, they want open borders – the worst thing that happened to this country.”*

**Would Schwarzenegger Win?**

Austrian-born Schwarzenegger, who previously told CNN’s Chris Wallace in 2023 he could “so clearly” win the presidency if allowed to run, remains ineligible due to the Constitution’s natural-born citizen clause. But advisers insist this has not stopped him from floating the idea.

A former aide shared:
*”He feels uniquely qualified to bring Americans together at a time when it’s all about who you vote against rather than who you vote for. He’s been telling people, ‘If I can’t run, then maybe I can at least inspire someone else who can beat Trump.'”*

Though Schwarzenegger insists he is “not worried” about Trump ultimately prevailing, he has been clear about the stakes. Speaking to Wallace, he said:
*”Look, it’s a no-brainer. I see so clearly how I could win that election.”*

Takaichi Announces Candidacy for LDP Leadership

I, Sanae Takaichi, as someone who loves Japan and the Japanese people with all my heart, and who firmly believes in their strength, will once again run in the Liberal Democratic Party leadership election, Takaichi said at a press conference on September 19th.

Calling for Japan to once more stand at the top of the world, she pledged to pursue economic growth without compromise. Her proposals include the creation of a control center for foreign resident issues and stronger measures against illegal overstayers, aiming to shore up conservative support.

At the same time, her willingness to adopt opposition-backed policies has raised doubts among some conservatives about her capacity to build alliances across party lines. Takaichi said she would push for a tax credit system that increases net income relative to wages, known as a refundable tax credit—an idea championed by the Constitutional Democratic Party.

She also pledged to develop backup crisis-management functions for the capital, echoing Nippon Ishin’s second capital concept, and to reform income thresholds, as advocated by the Democratic Party for the People.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Shinjiro Koizumi, who placed third behind Takaichi in last year’s race, launched his campaign team the same day. “We must not forget last year’s result, and fight through with a sense of urgency until the end,” Koizumi said, adding that he will announce his policy platform on September 21st.

Koizumi also gained a significant endorsement. Former Digital Minister Taro Kono said, “When we think about who can truly rebuild the party from its foundation, Koizumi is the most suitable.”

With the official announcement just three days away, leadership contenders are stepping up their campaigns.

Huston-Tillotson University receives single largest donation to an HBCU with $150 million gift, school says

Melva K. Wallace, president and CEO of Huston-Tillotson University, embraced Ross Moody after he announced a historic $150 million donation from The Moody Foundation on September 18. This generous gift, to be distributed over the next 10 years, marks the single-largest donation ever made to a historically Black college or university (HBCU).

In celebration of Huston-Tillotson University’s 150th anniversary, Ross Moody, trustee and vice president of The Moody Foundation, revealed the foundation’s groundbreaking contribution during the university’s opening convocation on Thursday. The announcement was met with thunderous applause and cheers from attendees.

This large-scale donation comes amid the Trump administration’s continued efforts to curtail diversity, equity, and inclusion programs at public universities. While President Donald Trump has recently redirected nearly $500 million in federal funding to HBCUs, he also cut grants for Hispanic-serving colleges.

Melva K. Wallace described the donation as “transformational” for the historically Black liberal arts institution. “I see this as an endorsement of what we’re doing and a rocket booster to help us get to the next level,” Wallace told CNN. “The difference maker is that this is truly going to help students.”

The funds will primarily support students through scholarships, as well as enable expansion of university housing and campus facilities, Wallace explained.

### The Moody Foundation and Its Legacy

This gift represents the largest donation in the Texas-based Moody Foundation’s 83-year history. In 2023, the foundation pledged to contribute $1 billion toward education in Texas by 2035.

Ross Moody emphasized that the foundation’s belief in education and Huston-Tillotson’s vision motivated this exceptional gift. Initially planning to donate $130 million, the foundation increased the amount, stating, “Our belief in (Huston-Tillotson’s) vision and in this university’s future moved us to do more.”

The Moody Foundation has maintained a long-standing relationship with Huston-Tillotson, donating over $1.3 million since 1968. Elle Moody, the foundation’s senior vice president of grants, highlighted the university’s special significance: “This institution is special in more ways than most are aware and is deserving of a grant of this magnitude.” She further noted the foundation’s commitment to supporting Huston-Tillotson for the next 150 years.

### Huston-Tillotson University: A Rich History

Founded in 1875 by George J. Tillotson, the university began as the Tillotson Collegiate and Normal Institute with a mission to provide teacher training and quality education for African Americans. It gained its charter in 1877, was renamed Tillotson College in 1909, and became a four-year institution in 1931.

In 1952, Tillotson College merged with Samuel Huston College to form Huston-Tillotson College. The institution officially became Huston-Tillotson University in 2005. Today, the 23-acre campus serves 1,059 students, according to Wallace.

Linda Y. Jackson, vice president for institutional advancement, reflected on the university’s resilience through significant social challenges such as segregation, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Black Lives Matter movement. As the only HBCU in Austin, Texas, Huston-Tillotson continues to stand strong.

“We have been through every single thing, but there is one component at the core of what we do here at Huston-Tillotson University: students are here to fulfill their dreams and aspirations,” Jackson told CNN.

### Continuing a Tradition of Supporting Texas Education

The Moody Foundation was established in 1942 by W.L. Moody Jr. and Libbie Shearn Moody. Moody Jr., founder of Moody National Bank, was a multifaceted entrepreneur engaged in banking, insurance, hotels, ranching, and newspaper printing. The couple created the foundation to share their wealth and impact the lives of Texans positively.

Today, the foundation is led by Frances Moody-Dahlberg, Ross Moody, and Elle Moody, continuing the founders’ legacy.

Wallace praised the Moody family as “angels of change” for their significant investment in education at Huston-Tillotson. “(The Moodys) support education. They support this institution. They support Texas, and I hope that it becomes a symbol of infectious generosity, where one person is inspired to do something and then others begin to follow suit,” she said.

This $150 million gift surpasses the $100 million donation received by Spelman College in 2024, which previously held the record for the largest single donation to an HBCU.

Wallace remains hopeful that Huston-Tillotson will not hold this title for long and encourages other philanthropists to follow the Moodys’ lead.

“I’m calling out all philanthropists out there to top this, because our HBCUs need it, and they deserve it,” Wallace declared.

Indore: 61 Booked For Rumours, Hate Posts On Instagram After Salman Lala’s Death

**Indore Crime Branch Books 61 Instagram Users for Posting Misleading Information Following Death of Criminal Salman Lala**

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The City Crime Branch on Friday booked 61 Instagram account users for posting misleading information after the death of criminal Salman Lala. Officials stated that these posts and reels could hurt the sentiments of various communities.

Following Lala’s death, some anti-social elements attempted to instigate hatred and animosity between communities by sharing provocative and misleading content through multiple Instagram IDs. Such actions have the potential to disturb public peace and adversely affect harmony among castes and communities, the police warned.

The Crime Branch team identified a total of 61 Instagram IDs involved in spreading this misleading information. Prima facie, the actions of these users have been found to violate sections 223, 196, 353 (1)(a), and 353 (1)(c) of the BNS. Consequently, a case has been registered against them, and further investigations are ongoing.

Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya provided insight into Salman Lala’s death. Lala drowned in a pond in Sehore while attempting to escape from the Crime Branch a few days ago. The Crime Branch was actively searching for him due to his involvement in drug supply operations.

After tracing Lala’s location to an area between Bhopal and Dewas, the team reached the spot and pursued him. Lala managed to flee from the vehicle and later jumped into a pond in Sehore to avoid apprehension. His body was recovered from the pond the following day.

After his body was brought back to the city, thousands of people and Lala’s supporters gathered near his residence and at the BRTS stop near LIG Square.

To identify individuals spreading rumors on social media, SI Reena Rathore from the Social Media Monitoring Cell was tasked with collecting information about the users involved.

In response to the situation, the Commissioner of Police has issued prohibitory orders against posting misleading content, reels, and similar material on social media platforms.

The authorities urge the public to refrain from sharing unverified information and to maintain communal harmony during this sensitive time.
