**Panic Erupts at Shamli District Hospital as Attacker Assaults Patients with Stick**
*Shamli (Uttar Pradesh), October 04:*
A shocking incident unfolded at the District Hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli when a man attacked two patients admitted in the emergency ward with a lathi (stick) in full view of police officers. The entire episode was caught on camera, and the video is now circulating widely on social media.
The footage shows the attacker barging into the emergency ward carrying a long stick and assaulting the two patients lying on their beds. The injured patients can be seen desperately trying to escape as the assailant swings the stick at them.
According to reports, the incident took place on the night of Thursday, October 2. The victims, identified as brothers Furkan and Irfan, had been admitted to the hospital after being brutally attacked earlier that day following a violent clash with a rival group in Thanabhawan.
While the injured brothers were undergoing emergency treatment, a member of the opposing group stormed into the hospital carrying the lathi and launched a violent attack against them inside the ward. This brazen act exposed serious security lapses at the hospital.
Panic and chaos erupted among patients and staff, but a police officer present in the ward managed to stop the attacker and detain him. However, controversy soon followed as Adarsh Mandi Police Station later denied making any arrest, claiming that the accused had fled the scene. This statement directly contradicts the CCTV footage from inside the hospital.
Authorities have reportedly initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the facts and address the security concerns raised by this violent episode.
The attack has raised urgent questions about hospital security and the safety of patients, prompting calls for stricter measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
