**USCIS Expands SAVE Program to Simplify Voter Citizenship Verification**

WASHINGTON — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced an important upgrade to its Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program, enabling states to verify voter citizenship using only the last four digits of a Social Security number instead of the full nine-digit number.

This enhancement is designed to reinforce the integrity of U.S. elections by allowing state officials to confirm that only U.S. citizens are casting ballots in federal elections.

“USCIS remains dedicated to eliminating barriers to securing the nation’s electoral process,” said USCIS spokesman Matthew Tragesser. “By allowing states to efficiently verify voter eligibility, we are reinforcing the principle that America’s elections are reserved exclusively for American citizens.”

### Executive Order Implementation

The upgrade is part of USCIS’ ongoing implementation of Executive Order 14248, *Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections*. Under the new system, agencies responsible for verifying voter rolls can now create a SAVE case without requiring a Department of Homeland Security identifier or the full Social Security number, streamlining the verification process.

### Extensive Use and Adoption

SAVE has already seen widespread use across federal and state agencies. State voting agencies alone have submitted more than 46 million voter verification queries. Additionally, federal agencies have processed over 110 million queries to verify eligibility for federally funded benefits.

Altogether, as of October 2025, the SAVE system has handled more than 205 million verification queries—an eightfold increase compared to 25 million queries processed in all of 2024.

Currently, 26 states have either established agreements with SAVE for voter verification or are in the process of doing so. Government officials at all levels are being encouraged to adopt the system to help prevent voter fraud and restore public confidence in elections.

Trump says he doesn’t know who Binance Founder CZ is, despite pardoning him

Last year, Changpeng Zhao (AKA “CZ”), the founder of Binance—the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange—pleaded guilty to money laundering charges.

Last month, he was pardoned by President Donald Trump. However, this week, Trump stated that he has no idea who CZ is.

During an interview on the latest episode of 60 Minutes, Trump revealed that he doesn’t know much about CZ, despite having pardoned him just weeks ago.

“Okay, are you ready? I don’t know who he is,” Trump said during the interview, as quoted by CNBC. “I don’t know the man at all. I don’t think I ever met him,” he continued.

When asked how he came to pardon a man he doesn’t know, Trump explained that his family’s involvement in the crypto business influenced his decision.

“My sons are involved in crypto much more than I—me. I—I know very little about it, other than one thing. It’s a huge industry,” he said.

Trump also added that he “was told” CZ was a victim of the Biden Administration.

Australia Drop Sam Konstas for First Ashes Test

One player in the squad is conspicuous by absence: Sam Konstas. The 20-year-old opener made a terrific Test debut last Australian summer, taking on India spearhead Jasprit Bumrah with confidence. However, his form has tailed off since then.

Konstas was next called up for the West Indies tour earlier this year. Although conditions were challenging for batting throughout, his 50 runs in six innings did little to inspire confidence. He did score a century for Australia A in India in September, but has struggled this season in the Sheffield Shield, accumulating just 122 runs at an average of 22.3 across three matches.

Chief selector George Bailey, however, remains upbeat about the batter’s potential: “I feel for Sammy. I feel like at the moment if he farts, it’s a headline. There’s a handful of young guys his age playing Shield cricket around the country and they’re all learning. Sammy’s no different, he just happens to be doing it under immense scrutiny. We really like him. We like the skill set there and we’re confident that will continue to build out.”

Jake Weatherald, Brendan Doggett Receive Call-Ups

Selected in Konstas’s place is 31-year-old Tasmania opening batter Jake Weatherald. Although he scored 0 and 12 in his most recent game against Victoria, Weatherald had three half-centuries in four Sheffield Shield innings prior to that. He was also the top run-getter in last year’s Sheffield Shield, with 906 runs in 10 matches.

Regular skipper Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the first Test with injury, with captaincy duties falling to Steve Smith. Scott Boland is expected to slot into the XI, while Australia have added two Test-uncapped seam bowlers—Sean Abbott and Brendan Doggett—to the squad as cover.

Abbott is a white-ball regular for Australia, with 29 ODIs and 28 T20Is to his name. He most recently represented Australia in the third T20I against India three days ago.

Doggett, 31, has yet to play any international cricket. He was part of Australia’s squad for the 2017-18 home Ashes but did not make it onto the field. In 49 first-class matches, he has taken 184 wickets at an average of 26.75. Doggett’s career-best figures came in last year’s Sheffield Shield final, where his 11-140 helped South Australia secure their first title in 29 years.

Of Australia’s 15 selected players, 14 will be active in the next round of the Sheffield Shield. The exception is Usman Khawaja, with the 38-year-old’s workload set to be managed carefully.

Ambrosino wins reelection for at-large seat on Bath City Council

Julie Ambrosino has been reelected to serve as the at-large councilor on the Bath City Council, according to unofficial results from Tuesday’s election. Ambrosino received 2,161 votes, finishing ahead of Brian Bennett, who garnered 934 votes.

In other council races, Bath City Councilors Jennifer DeChant of Ward 5 and Leiha Lynn of Ward 7 both ran unopposed. DeChant received 401 votes, while Lynn secured 446 votes.

These results underscore the continued support for the current council members in their respective wards.

Los Altos Vice Mayor Neysa Fligor leads in Santa Clara County Assessors race

Santa Clara County’s first open assessor’s race in more than three decades saw Los Altos Vice Mayor Neysa Fligor leading after the first returns on Tuesday night. Four candidates are vying to fill the seat vacated by longtime Assessor Larry Stone.

The special election was triggered by Stone’s decision to step down from the role in July, ahead of the expiration of his term in December 2026. The 84-year-old Stone was first elected as assessor in 1994, making him the longest-serving elected official in the county.

The assessor oversees an $8 billion public enterprise that assesses the value of more than 500,000 properties in Santa Clara County.

As of just after 8 p.m., Fligor led with 40% of the vote. Former Saratoga Councilmember Rishi Kumar trailed behind her with 24%, followed closely by Saratoga Councilmember Yan Zhao with nearly 21%, and East Side Union High School District Trustee Bryan Do with 15%.

If no candidate wins more than 50% of the vote, the two leading candidates will compete in a runoff election scheduled for December.

Greg Monteverde, who previously served as assistant assessor, is currently acting as the interim assessor.

Frail-looking Joe Biden spotted dining at Virginia Italian eatery ahead of Election Day

Former President Joe Biden was spotted dining out in Northern Virginia on Sunday with his former Pentagon chief, Lloyd Austin.

Biden, 82, was accompanied by Secret Service agents as he made his way through the outdoor patio of Carbonara, an Italian restaurant in Arlington, Virginia. Video posted on social media captured surprised diners gasping and applauding when Biden entered the restaurant.

Inside, Biden was seated across from Austin and an unidentified woman. According to local outlet WUSA9, the former president enjoyed dishes including shrimp wrapped in bacon, capellini pasta, and tiramisu.

Biden recently completed a weeks-long course of radiation therapy for Stage 4 prostate cancer at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia. He turns 83 later this month and was diagnosed in May with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had metastasized to the bone.

During his first public outing since announcing his treatment last month, observers noted that Biden appeared noticeably frail as he headed to the dinner table. Conservative influencer Paul Szypula commented on X, “His walking was lurchy and arms barely swung,” adding that Biden’s appearance was a reminder of media claims about his ability to continue serving.

Other social media users chimed in, with one tweet stating, “Everyone who said this man could serve 4 more years should be endlessly ridiculed.” Another video circulating on X appears to show Biden taking a slight misstep as he entered the restaurant’s patio, prompting a user to comment, “The very definition of FEEBLE! Former Secret Service agent Rich Staropoli weighed in on X, expressing the opinion that taxpayers should not be responsible for Biden’s security detail. He stole enough money let him pay for his own security.”

Biden’s dinner with Austin comes just days after the House Oversight Committee released a report claiming that members of the former president’s “inner circle” took steps to “meticulously stage-manage” his public appearances, lighten his private workload, and block lawmakers from interacting with him. The report concluded that dozens of Biden’s executive actions “cannot all be deemed his own,” as advisers “went to great lengths to prop up” the 46th president during his physical and cognitive decline in office.
