ホンモノ見極め「神級」目指せ！　キボリノコンノ展に行ってきた【ガクミカ取材班】

はじめまして、ガクミカ取材班の学生記者で大学2年生の「にし」です！今回は、木彫りで本物そっくりの作品を生み出すアーティスト、キボリノコンノさんの作品展「食べたい！木彫りアートの世界」に行ってきました。

身近な食べ物や日用品がリアルに再現されたアート展で、会場は福岡市科学館です。「ひらめく」「まねる」「うつす」など複数のブースに分かれていて、順番に回れるようになっています。各ブースにはテーマに沿った作品が展示されていて、中には横からよーく目を凝らすと木の痕跡が見えるものもあります。作者の工夫を発見するのも、この展覧会の楽しみ方のひとつです。

「まねる」のコーナーで待ち構えているのは、あの有名なお菓子たち！3時のおやつが全部、木でできているのです。かわいらしいコアラのマーチのデザインや、マルセイバターサンドの銀・赤・黄色の特徴的なパッケージも細かく再現されています。他にもたくさんの定番おやつが展示されているので、お気に入りをぜひ見つけてみてくださいね。

最後に待ち構えているのは「きぼりはどっち？」のコーナーです。本物？それとも木彫り作品？正解を見分けて、全問パーフェクト解答者に与えられる「神級（かみきゅう）」の称号をかけた闘いが始まります。

私は、100個もあるナッツたちをじっくり観察しました。これが怪しい！と思うと、他のものも怪しく見えてきてしまい、心を抑えながら答え合わせに向かいました。結果は、1問だけ不正解。しかし「達人級」の称号を得られて大満足です！皆さんも「神級」を目指してぜひ挑戦してみてくださいね。

そんなわくわくの体験の中、展示作品の上をふと見ると、キボリノコンノさんの制作風景の写真が並んでいました。彫刻刀や絵の具などさまざまな道具を使い分けながら、真剣に制作に向き合っている姿がうかがえます。

キボリノコンノさんは、木の質感に似ていると思い「木彫りのコーヒー豆」を作りSNSに投稿したことがきっかけで、コロナ禍で失われていた「人とのつながり」を感じたそうです。

見る人の「わくわく」を大切にしている思いが、作品全体を通して伝わってきました。楽しませる工夫が散りばめられた「キボリノコンノ展」。ぜひ会場に足を運んで、キボリノコンノさんの「ひらめき」から「わくわく」を体験してみてください！

【社説】スポーツ中継　有料化と公共性考えよう

スポーツ中継の主流がテレビからインターネットの有料配信に移りつつある。来年3月に開催される野球の国・地域別対抗戦、ワールド・ベースボール・クラシック（WBC）で、米動画配信大手が独占放送権を獲得したことが大きな話題になった。

WBCは2006年の第1回大会から23年の前回までに日本が3度優勝しており、国内ファンの人気が高い。前回大会では投打二刀流の大谷翔平選手（現ドジャース）の活躍もあり、地上波中継は40％を超える高視聴率を記録した。

来年の大会は、大谷選手の人気を当て込んだネット配信事業者の参入で放送権料が著しく高騰。過去の大会を中継したことがある日本のテレビ局は太刀打ちできなかったという。従来のようなテレビ中継を楽しむことは難しくなりそうで、視聴者の戸惑いが広がっている。

日本野球機構はテレビ局と協力し、録画放送の可能性を探るとみられているが、好きなスポーツでも有料契約には抵抗を感じる人もいるだろう。識者の中には「お金を払ってスポーツを見ることは日本人にはなかなか難しい」と話す者もいる。

一方で、世界のスポーツ中継では有料配信が当たり前になってきた。スマートフォンなどを使えば、いつでもどこでも視聴できるのが大きな強みだ。

実際、9月に名古屋で行われたプロボクシングの井上尚弥選手の世界タイトル戦は配信のみで中継された。また、2022年のサッカー・ワールドカップ（W杯）はインターネットテレビが全試合を配信している。

放送権や配信権は、観戦チケットの売り上げやスポンサー契約とともに、プロスポーツの主要な収入源である。各チームや競技団体は権利を少しでも高く売って収益を増やしたいと考えており、資金力のある媒体と契約を結ぶのは自然な流れだ。これにより選手の年俸アップや施設整備にも繋がっていく。

しかし、それがスポーツビジネスの潮流であっても、ファン目線を欠いてはならない。地上波中継がなくなり、テレビで観戦する人が減れば、競技の認知度や関心が低下するとの指摘もある。有料化によってファンや競技人口が減少すれば、かえって逆効果となる恐れがあるのだ。

日本では1953年にテレビ放送が始まり、高度経済成長の波に乗って家庭にテレビが普及した。国民は画面を通してプロ野球や大相撲などのスポーツ中継に熱中し、テレビあってこそのスポーツ人気が築かれてきた。WBC人気もその延長線上にあると言える。

世界では誰もが自由に情報に触れられる「ユニバーサルアクセス権」を制度化した国があり、国民的なスポーツ大会もこれに該当する。

今日は1964年の東京五輪を記念した「スポーツの日」だ。さまざまなスポーツを楽しみながら、変わりつつあるスポーツ中継の現状と公共性について考えてみるのもよいだろう。
