Israel’s Army Advances Preparations for First Phase of Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan Amid Rising Death Toll
Israel’s military announced on Saturday that it would advance preparations for the initial phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza and facilitate the return of all remaining hostages, according to news agency AP. Protests continue across Europe, including tens of thousands marching in Barcelona on Saturday, with demonstrations planned in Italy and Portugal. For Palestinians in Gaza, uncertainty persists. Thousands have fled Gaza City, now a focus of Israel’s latest offensive, while families of hostages remain cautious.
Yehuda Cohen, whose son Nimrod is held in Gaza, expressed cautious optimism: “We’re putting our trust in Trump because he’s the only one who’s doing it. We want to see him with us until the last step.”

**Gyanesh Kumar-led ECI Team Visits Patna; Bihar Poll Dates Expected Soon**

A delegation from the Election Commission of India (ECI), headed by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, is currently in Patna to review preparations for the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. The team also includes Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.
As part of their visit, an all-party meeting with representatives from the 12 recognized political parties is underway at the Taj Hotel, chaired by CEC Kumar. This meeting serves as a platform to discuss the election process and ensure smooth conduct of the polls.
### Election Preparations Underway
The ECI traditionally visits the state just days before announcing the election schedule. With the Bihar Assembly’s term concluding on November 22, the elections must be held before that date. A man and two women, aged between 18 and their mid-40s, have been detained in connection with the deadly Yom Kippur attack at a Manchester synagogue.
