**“Satisfied,”** a new documentary from Melissa Haizlip and Chris Bolan, takes a close look at Goldsberry’s run on *Hamilton*—but more importantly, it explores what she sacrificed to dedicate herself to that award-winning performance. “Renée moved away from the city and became close friends with a dear friend of mine, Kelli O’Hara—who is also a wonderful Broadway performer, Tony Award-winning actress, and executive producer (EP) on our project,” Bolan explained. “Renée told Kelli that she had a lot of behind-the-scenes footage from *Hamilton* and wished she had done something with it instead of just posting it all on Instagram. She wished she had made a documentary or met someone who knew how to create one.”

Kelli responded, “‘Well, it just so happens that I have a good friend who lives right over here who is a documentary filmmaker. Do you want to meet him?’ And [Renée] said, ‘Sure!’”

As a theater fan herself, Haizlip said she was excited to join the team for this Renée Goldsberry documentary. “I’m a huge musical theater fan; I’m a musical theater kid,” she shared. “I also grew up doing plays and musicals, and then I had a really long career on Broadway, performing myself in many shows. Now I’m producing shows on Broadway, and I love making documentaries as well. So the idea of bringing all these things together as a Black woman in theater, I was so excited to see her story being told this way.”

One of the major themes examined in *Satisfied* is how Goldsberry balances her career and family—a dilemma that many women in America face. As Goldsberry states in the film, “I’m the only cast member that’s also a mom.”

“The themes of our film—motherhood, balancing career and family—are just so universal,” Haizlip emphasized, “but the specificity of Renée and seeing the film through her eyes, that’s what really made a lot of difference for me.”

Both filmmakers, with impressive résumés, were also asked about the role of documentarians in today’s historical context. In many ways, they represent the last true truth-tellers.

“I try to use it to amplify underrepresented stories, particularly those focusing on Black culture and history,” Haizlip said. “I intentionally approach filmmaking to show the full breadth of Black expression and humanity; especially with this film, we tried to tell a more intimate story about her journey with motherhood and infertility.”

Bolan highlighted his previous film, *A Secret Love*, to explain his perspective on why documentarians are so important. “Creating a documentary requires dedication and teaches us the importance of perseverance. I try to build trust with my subjects by ensuring they are co-creators in the storytelling process,” he shared. “I work with them to ensure their story is told in an authentic and compelling way, and that’s what Melissa and I did with *Satisfied.*”

It is this type of attention to detail and care that makes *Satisfied* such a compelling film. It not only highlights Goldsberry’s incredible talents but also the sacrifices an artist of her caliber makes to bring us a lifetime full of memories.

ATLANTA — Georgia’s highest court on Tuesday sided with Black landowners in a fight over zoning changes that weakened long-standing protections for one of the South’s last Gullah-Geechee communities founded by freed slaves.

The state Supreme Court unanimously reversed a lower court ruling that had stopped a referendum to consider repealing a revised zoning ordinance passed by McIntosh County officials two years ago.

Residents of Sapelo Island opposed the zoning amendments that doubled the size of homes allowed in a tiny enclave called Hogg Hummock. Homeowners feared the change would result in one of the nation’s most historically and culturally unique Black communities facing unaffordable tax increases.

Residents and their supporters last year submitted a petition with more than 2,300 signatures from registered voters seeking a referendum in the coastal county, which lies 60 miles (96 kilometers) south of Savannah.

McIntosh County commissioners sued to stop the referendum, and a lower court ruled that one would be illegal. The decision halted a vote on the zoning change with less than a week to go before Election Day. Hundreds of people had already cast early ballots in the referendum.

The high court on Tuesday found that the lower court was wrong to conclude that the zoning ordinance was not subject to referendum procedures provided for in the Georgia Constitution’s Home Rule Provision.

“Nothing in the text of the Zoning Provision in any way restricts a county electorate’s authority to seek repeal of a zoning ordinance,” Supreme Court Justice John Ellington wrote in the opinion.

“We feel vindicated,” said Jazz Watts, a Hogg Hummock homeowner who helped organize the referendum effort. “The election should not have been stopped. It was stopping the voice of the people.”

It wasn’t immediately clear when a referendum might be rescheduled. But attorney Dana Braun, who represents the Hogg Hummock residents, said the ruling will give county residents “some real say” in whether they support the zoning change.

McIntosh County attorney Ken Jarrard said in an email that the county commissioners are “obviously disappointed” by the order but respect the high court’s ruling.

Jarrard had asserted during oral arguments at the Supreme Court in April that zoning powers are different from others entrusted to county governments by the state Constitution and, therefore, can’t be challenged by referendum.

Philip Thompson, an attorney representing the Hogg Hummock residents, had argued that they have a constitutional right to a referendum on the zoning changes so that they can defend a place that’s “a cultural and historical treasure.”

Roughly 30 to 50 Black residents live in Hogg Hummock, also known as Hog Hammock, a community of dirt roads and modest homes founded by their enslaved ancestors who worked the cotton plantation of Thomas Spalding.

It’s among a dwindling number of small communities started by emancipated island slaves — known collectively as Gullah, or Geechee, in Georgia — scattered along the coast from North Carolina to Florida.

Scholars say the island’s separation from the mainland caused the communities to retain much of their African heritage, from their unique dialect to skills and crafts such as cast-net fishing and weaving baskets.

In 1996, Hogg Hummock earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places, the official list of treasured U.S. historic sites.

Residents depend on the local government in McIntosh County, where 65% of the 11,100 residents are white, to maintain protections that preserve the community.

The state Supreme Court was not weighing whether Hogg Hummock deserves special protections. Instead, the justices had to consider technical questions about whether local zoning laws can be challenged by referendum and whether McIntosh County commissioners had a right to sue to stop the vote last October.

Porsche is expected to start selling its long-awaited electric Cayenne SUV early next year, adding to its existing line-up of pure electric Taycan and Macan models. This new EV version of one of the German marque’s most successful cars marks an exciting addition to their portfolio.

Ahead of the full production model arriving next year, Porsche invited us to its facility in Leipzig, Germany, to explore the latest electric Cayenne and to demonstrate that the company continues to push electrification—despite its recent decision to offer internal combustion engine (ICE) cars well into the 2030s.

### Impressive Performance and Technological Advances

The Cayenne’s headline figures are highly impressive. Its development includes an 800V electrical architecture that enables charging speeds of up to 400kW. Revised battery technology improves the range, pushing it to nearly 400 miles on a single charge. The most powerful models will deliver over 1,000bhp and 1,500Nm of torque.

Unsurprisingly, insiders say this will be the most powerful production Porsche to date, capable of sprinting from 0-62 mph in less than three seconds. I had the opportunity to try out the latest generation of launch control, and it was so intense, I’d gladly never do it again.

Khan explained that by using Spatial Light Modulators (SLMs), Porsche can predict the availability of charging stations along a route with over 95% accuracy, cutting down the reliance on often unreliable live data.

### Performance and Versatility: The Cayenne’s True Powerhouse

The Cayenne has traditionally been Porsche’s all-rounder—comfortable for family transport, thrilling to drive, capable of towing boats, and stylish. The all-electric version carries this legacy forward and aims to exceed expectations.

This EV is the first Porsche SUV to feature the marque’s active suspension management system, with electronically controlled dampers that continuously adjust for optimal handling. Drawing on experience from the Taycan and the latest Panamera, Porsche engineers showed extraordinary control over each wheel. Remarkably, drivers can even navigate the test track in virtual reality while experiencing every bump, camber, and corner perfectly—a feature unlikely to reach production but illustrative of the system’s precision.

Despite weighing nearly 2.5 tonnes, the Cayenne EV delivers exceptional agility. It can lap real race circuits, drift corners, tackle off-road courses, and ensure motorway comfort. The model also supports towing up to 3.5 tonnes, impressive for an electric SUV.

Enhanced regenerative braking feeds up to 600kW back into the battery system. Fast charging at public stations can reach up to 400kW, enabling a 10-80% charge in under 16 minutes thanks to improved cooling of the battery packs. The cooling system, which equates to the power of 100 domestic refrigerators, can be noisy during high-speed charging, so Porsche introduces a “stealth charging mode” to minimize fan noise—ideal for quiet public spaces at night.

### Charging Technology That Leads the Way

While much of Porsche’s battery and infotainment technology was first seen in the Macan EV, the Cayenne builds upon this platform, elevating capabilities further. The AI voice assistant is faster, more responsive, and more knowledgeable. It now supports Bluetooth peripherals and even allows gaming on either the central or passenger display when the vehicle is parked.

A standout feature is the optional 11kW wireless inductive charging pad, priced around €7,000 (approx. $9,500 / AU$14,200), which includes the pad and the vehicle receiver.
